During combat I'll try and keep an eye out for things without being too rules lawyery.
Maybe Lueck wants me to use his rolls from surprise round as his round 1 turn?
That still leaves you a move action though I believe Lueck.

That's what it looks like.
I don't suppose anyone had the foresight to bring bellows? Suck up a batgod like a pokemon. Gotta catch em' all!

Hi guys.
Sorry that I was gone for a lot longer than I had initially said. The short version is "personal problems"; for a little more detail, I wrote some stuff up in my own campaign if you're curious. I'm doubly sorry because this happened really soon after me joining this game and I feel really bad. :(
I am in the process of catching up and hopefully this will never happen again.
Dien covered for ya ^^
I've been massively swamped myself.

Welcome back! Glad everything is okay. :)
Hmm I will have to hold off on resolving the muck arrow until I get to a better platform. The map is displaying all wonky for me on mobile.
Ok so just to double check... Are you guys wanting to fire the stink arrow knowing it is stinking cloud? I'm just checking in case you missed this post.
It seems like it could hinder more than it helps so I'm just checking before I resolve the arrow shot so it doesn't come as a surprise.
Not saying it's definitely a bad idea just making sure you guys know what the arrow does first ^^

*Shrug* I don't have anything that can hurt a swarm so I'm just waiting for it to disperse any way.
Yeah. If we are nauseated, we can still try to run from it. I can't hurt a swarm otherwise. Maybe it will disrupt the swarms. Maybe it will break the concentration of the possessed hobgoblin. That and running pretty much cover our options as far as I can tell.
Ok just making sure you knew it was stinking cloud.
Also I just caught something I missed, Hana has 1 point of bleed damage.
Quick question. When Lueck set off that secret door trap, did it seem like an area of effect damage collapse? Like anyone within a certain radius would be damaged? I'm just trying to improvise here... *shrugs*
Yeah it was like instead of opening, the door collapsed out at you, but you were good because you hit it from ten feet away with a pole.
The fall zone is the adjacent squares.
Well, then I guess we'll call that plan B. :) I think we are going to see what (if anything) the arrow does for us. If that doesn't help, we can try to draw the swarm close to the secret door and set off the trap on purpose.

I think I just explodeded it. :P
Great! Bits o' bat everywhere!
"Hey Erich, you got some Bruce Wayne on ya there."
Thanks for fixing Lueck's icon. Please let me know if it is something I did wrong; I would want to regularly screw up the map! :)
Every new object that gets added to the map defaults to the front layer I think.
I periodically shift-click all the PC tokens and choose "bring to front" to stop them getting buried.
I'm working on a better map solution using VTT software with fog of war implementation, I've just been so slammed lately.

Everytime I move myself I click bring to front.
If your icon disappears you can always ctrl-z and undo.
Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to use them.
If that crit drops Kara don't forget 2 action points cheat death.

Guys use what you know and think out of the box, pay attention to the environment, etc...
Anyone else have knowledge religion to find out more about this thing? Bottom line you're basically fighting a vamp just with less hitdice... /meta
You've been fighting it enough rounds to know it has absurd AC and DR against the kind of attacks you are using... so you know you have to find ways to bypass it's AC and DR...
Now I know you guys are probably better than me on the nitty gritty of tactics in pathfinder but at the same time the wacky encounter design in my/FGG games can call for a different approach at times. For example I have read on the boards that the aid another action is useless in combat but in my home games it gets used a lot and I think it's because you see these inappropriate CR for APL solos at times... it makes sense when you think about it, if one guy or gal can hit hard enough to make it count even with that AC and DR, why not put all your eggs in that basket instead of throwing away action economy on strikes that can't hit or can't deal damage even if they do hit?
Just my 2cp, not meaning to tell you what to do, just in the interest of transparency because I know according to conventional encounter design you shouldn't be fighting something like this at this level and under WBL. But I assure you, it can be beat. You just have to do it more "heads-up" than "heads-down".

Oh, I'm a big fan of aid another in general. I've spent the last few rounds just trying to get Kara out of the mess to get healed because I was foolishly forgetting that Lyr couldn't heal anymore anyway, heh.
(Doubly ironic since I was the one who used up Lyr's heal to begin with.)
Anyway, back into the midst of things!

I've got one spell left and it's magic weapon...
I know. The irony is killing me. :P
I keep double checking both mine and Lyr's inventory being like 'did I miss a potion of CLW!?!' but alas, no such luck.

I get the feeling Hana should have been a paladin, we're kinda front-liner light here.

What's your HP status guys? Is another channel in order now? Hana is unhurt.

By the way that was a nice play by you and Erich. That's exactly what my home group scouts did and they got a huge advantage out of it, you guys just got really unlucky rolls.

Sorry for the lull in posting guys, work has been rather more busy than I anticipated. The season will end for me on the 10. of August and then I will be free for posting galore but 'till then I will do my best to keep up.
Me too. I just can't keep up work is so ridiculous. Left at 4am yesterday and got home at 5am.
I'm so stressed out.

Work has also been nuts for me! Ah, what ever happened to those lazy summers of years gone by?
These days it's nothing but stress and more stress, and then a bit more stress for no good reason...
Yeah Cai, Lyr is not answering my PM's at all either.
One guy dropped out of DoD team 2 as well so we still have equal number of PC's in both groups with Lyr gone... but I know you two kind of came as a package.
Why don't we just keep going slow like we have and see if she comes back I guess?

Yes, I normally talk to Lyr a fair bit via chatting, etc, but she's gone silent in all my games, unfortunately, and hasn't been on my chat program. I'm hoping she's alright.
Anyway, while Cairenn is definitely funnier with his sister around to smack him in the head, I have no problems continuing to play without her, I still like my dumbass character. ;) But I won't continue to run Lyr, as that doesn't seem fair.
