| Dungeon Master S |
As of the moment, the atrium seems rather bare. The exhibits here are all rather mundane, well, mundane if you're a Pathfinder!
Haliphod confirms that whatever is the cause, it's not in this room. Only the doors remain...
Peter Krauss
|
"So, Samil, did you found where is the curator's office in this map?"
"Man, even the names are look alike: Seiran, Samil. They only can be brothers!", he smiles while speculates in his mind.
"If you didn't, I suggest that we go through the corridor and start by the door on the left".
Samildanach The Dread
|
For a moment Samildanach doesn't respond but then he realises Peter is talking to him and he points to the door to the left off the start of the corridor.
"There is an office marked off the main room here, I say we make sure the owner isn't dead first"
Once everyone is ready, The half Orc pirate pushes open the door.
Omrijka
|
Omrijka moves up a little ahead of Samil and has a listen at both doors ready to whisper to the rest of the party if she hears anything

Seiran Leogil

Backing up his fellow half orc, Seiran follows behind.
"If anything anyone in here might have temporarily lost their reason, we might have to take a more gentle approach."
Peter Krauss

"If anything anyone in here might have temporarily lost their reason, we might have to take a more gentle approach."
"Sure...", Peter murmurs with a psycho eyes.
| Dungeon Master S |
Finding no traps, the party opens the door. The mists here congeal into a thick and silvery fog that cools the lungs. Arranged throughout this large hall are exhibits on the funerary traditions of several civilizations, along with preserved corpses arrayed in grim stillness. A giant warrior looms from the haze, his arms crossed at his chest, his helm solemn and still. Beyond lie sarcophagi of varied designs, and a few glass cases wherein withered dead are held upright by rods and string; grim exhibits of long-dead citizens whose fallen empires were erased an age past.
A placard above this hall reads “The Honored Dead” in blood-red calligraphy.
Silgil
|
More corpses. With my luck they will start running at us inviting us to their eternal party.
Silgil suspiciously raises his wand. Can't say readies it since he already had it out.
"Friends, watch out for undead. Though this mist doesn't seem to have anything to do with undead, the blasted things seem to pop up wherever I go."
Samildanach The Dread
|
Entering the exhibit of the various ways people keep their corpses, Samildanach spits superstitously, the dead should lie at sea, returned to the natural order, not kept from it as display pieces. Shrugging he makes his eay to the offices indicated on the map granted to them.
"Right lets get to the office and ask what the hell is going on in this accursed museum"

a single move into the room heading right. Cant move token right now
I moved it for you. 20' to the right.
Silgil follows, trailing 10'.
Seiran Leogil
|
"After the sign declaring it to be the likely place of undead? Unlikely." Seiran grins as he once more steps in after the rest and uses his divine senses.
Detect Evil.
"Let me spy with my little eye......" he intones.....
| Dungeon Master S |
Seiran's paladin abilities do, in fact, detect the presence of evil, but the source makes itself known nearly right away.
A trio of figures appear through the mist. One is a withered corpse that looks like it's from beneath Osirion’s sands. It bears a jeweled scarab on its chest among its spiced wrappings.. Another is a hulking skeleton, with a greatclub fashioned from a mammoth’s ivory tusk. The third is a shrunken, emaciated corpse wrapped in rotten silks, and holding a silvered Qadiran scimitar in its bony fists.

Omrijka moves into the room and surveys the creatures. "These are to far gone to be worth saving. Time for true steel!" She drops her sap and retrieves her glaive
End of turn but if AOO provoked coming in reach of her glaive then
Haliphod Kittrili
|
As Haliphod walks in, he shouts "Hey, Silgil.. I see them! There's your undead!"
Then, as if suddenly realizing that seeing undead is perhaps not a good thing, he says "Oh...."
Haliphod then starts mumbling arcane rumblings, as he begins a summoning spell (1 round casting time).
| Dungeon Master S |
The words of magic and the drawing of steel meet the undead.

"I'll have some fun now", he says while enters the room and shoots against the one who still have some flesh.

"My Little eye doths sees too much......." Seiran finishes rather lamely....
Rushing forward, he draws his own blade, nearly trips and impales himself but manages to catch his footing and stab forward.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
"Whew!"
| Dungeon Master S |
Peter does, indeed, start having fun. The mist is thick, but not thick enough to throw off his aim. The arrow strikes the ghoulish corpse in the head, nearly dropping it. It only barely shambles forth to keep the fight going. Seiran swings hard, and despite his sword not being the right tool for the job, takes the skeleton out!
The remaining skeleton charges forward towards Juhah. The animal's teeth clamp down hard, but he tears out a tibia instead of tripping the foe. The skeleton swings his silver-bladed scimitar down ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 for DMG: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
The ghoul, pushing through the near fatal injury steps towards Seiran and lashes out with unnatural hunger:

Left Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 MISS
Right Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 for DMG: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 and Seiran needs to make a DC 13 FORT save or be paralyzed for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 rounds.
Finally one more corpse arises from the mist. It's slow and awkward, shambling towards the party from behind a display.

Skipping the saves as the damage is the same.
Samildanach shares the power of Gozreh as the energy cascades like the waves of the sea. All of the enemy shudder a bit, and the ghoul drops!

Juhah's first bite clamps down and knocks the zombie over. The teeth don't seem to affect the zombie much, but the claws certainly do!
Peter's powerful swing crushes the thing's skull!
Combat over.
Silgil
|
"And this," he says as he slaps Seiran's paralyzed back, "is why we work in teams!"
Samildanach The Dread
|
Samildanach looks at the corpses at their feet and shrugs deeply, a concerned look on his face.
"Any of us get injured barring Seiran?" he asks gruffly, "I can channel to heal if we need it."
Haliphod Kittrili
|
"TA DA!!!" Haliphod exclaims, as a scraggly mutt of a dog appears. The dog sniffs the air, turns around 3 times, and sits down.
"Hmmm. You all took care of that awfully quick." He reaches down and pulls a femur from the skeleton, tossing it to the dog.
Haliphod then looks around the room for any other signs of trouble.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Silgil

And THAT'S why I stopped memorizing the summon spell.
Omrijka
|
Omrijka stows her glaive and picks up her sap. "I is fine thanx" says Omrijka to Samil as she begins putting back the bones into a semblance of order although she seems more interested in the nature of any jewellry the bodies may have been wearing than the actual bones
"Hey dont do that! she shouts at the gnome and then moves over to the summonned dog dog fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 and then tries to calm it as it undergoes the same transformation as Juhah"Easy boy Easy there" The dog then vanishes leaving the bone behind. Omrijka picks it up and then returns the bone to the remains of the skeleton.
She stands and announces "I will go close da door to da museum and put a warning on it to keep animals out. They seem to react badly to da mist" before proceeding to do just that
Seiran Leogil
|
Seiran after a few embarassing moments of standing stock still finally recovers from his paralyis.
"Hey. I was not ready!" he jibs back his grin back in place.
"I keep wanting to use claws which I don't have....." looking at his own hands suspiciously.
Samildanach The Dread
|
Samildanach slaps Seiran's shoulder heartily and gives him a stern smile whilst examining the gash marks caused by the ghoul.
"Shall we press on or do you need that healin'?"
Waiting for everyone to return and get themselves together, Samildanach pulls out the map again and points to the door across the room.
"That goes to the offices, I suggest we go there next to find out what we can of this accursed place."
| Dungeon Master S |
With a sign up on the door, and Seiran back in action, the party crowds around the next door...
Silgil
|
I've put my icon next to the next door but I'm just waiting there for the others.
Seiran Leogil
|
"I think I'm fine for now. Better save that healing for some another time, as I brought a wand." Seiran declines even as he grins to assure his companion.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Omrijka
|
somebody move my icon to the relevant door
Omrijka stands ready with sap drawn
| Dungeon Master S |
Silgil and Omrijka approach the door, ready, both can hear the sounds of furniture being smashed. Occasionally a scream enters the mix.
Silgil
|
Silgil jerks away from the door in surprise, then moves closer and yanks open the door.
"Sounds like someone is in trouble!"
| Dungeon Master S |
Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented. The mist here roils near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead. The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.
Whatever was smashing things is nowhere to be found.... Feel free to search with Perception checks. The screaming comes from the cabinet.
Silgil
|
Could you remove the mask on the area we are entering, just to make sure we are talking about the same place.
Silgil
|
"You! In the cabinet! Friend or foe?"
Samildanach The Dread
