WP finally comes to his senses, the grip of his friends start to ease. As he is released, emotions get the better of him. The halflings arms fly out and grabs the first thing he comes in contact with: Ham's neck. He bursts into tears and buries his head into the man's shoulder. He sobs uncontrollably for a few moments before trying to talk, but the works just come out as wails. snot and drool quickly accumulate on Ham's armor.

We're too pretty for this, Whistle. Too pretty.
Ham clenches his teeth and snarls, tears welling again.
WHY... CAN'T... I... KEEP IT TOGETHER??!!
Dungeon Master S
DM Fiat: Hamilton and Whistle Pig gain a +1 story bonus on their next damage roll.
Ushyle
This place has changed us all, little one... Ushyle begins to Whistle Pig, not entirely sure if he'd being comforting or not as the halfling then dissolves into more tears clutching Ham.
The half-orc watches a moment in silence, then turns away to give a respite of privacy to the pair, speaking quietly to Raen: Where to next, Raen?
Raen Varkath
Raen, too, hesitates and checks her instinct to comfort the pair. Ushyle's question catches her off-guard, and she snaps to look at him with a surprised look. Suddenly, she laughs aloud, the shrill sound filling the otherwise macabre chamber. "You are asking me? I suppose if our two hasty friends are busy..." she glances at Whistle Pig and Hamilton, "we should give them a moment. And that bump on his head looks excruciating. Vael?"
She turns to look for the dwarf, whose healing powers have grown considerably these last weeks.
"Through those doors next, I would think. We should not linger here long." She eyes the cauldron warily.

"Stay?!?!?" WP looks at Raen with a mixture of shock are grief."We CANNOT stay here!"
WP moves quickly towards the doors. keeping his keys towards the wall not wanting to get a glimps of the cauldron and the awful things that he did...

Vael nods to Raen and pulls out a wand from his backpack. After uttering a quick command word he places a healing hand on Whistle Pig.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He sees that it's not quite enough to close the wound entirely, "That'll do. The rest be a reminder fer ye."
Whistle Pig
|
WP shoots a look at Vael as if it were a sling bullet. "I won't need THIS" The halfling points to his head "to remind me what happened this day." WP turns back to his work and mumbles, " You have no idea... not caring if anyone hears.
Dungeon Master S
Whistle Pig dejectedly approaches the door, and immediately backs away...
you hear a giant barking commands in a harsh voice. He clearly knows there are intruders outside the door. It sounds like an ambush...
Vael Oakfist
Normally calm, Vael turns back to Whistle Pig quickly. He grabs the halfling by the shoulders and shakes him. "Damnit man, ye're a bloody hero of Trunau! We're dealin' with some of tha biggest threats our home has ever seen! I ken understand yer feelin' of malaise, but ye've got ta shake it off. Lives be at stake, and they're countin' on on ye and yer slin' bullets. We all be. So git it together!"
He then rounds on Hamilton and adds, "That goes fer you too."

WE'RE MAGICKED, SHAMAN! We can't just shake it off! Can that damn spirit of yours be of any help?
Vael Oakfist
"I've only got what tricks-" the shaman starts, but realizes he's better off not engaging in any further arguing.
He waits for Whistle Pig to finish checking the door.
Whistle Pig
|
While working on the door, WP stops cold and quickly gives the sign for quiet.
He sneaks back to the group, "they know we are here. they are waiting for us on the other side of the door. at least one giant. Make ready."
Hamilton Renaud
Ham breaks from Vael and draws his blade, igniting it. He strides to the double doors.
We're all going to die in here. And if I'm going to die, I'm dying my way!
Ham strides up and kicks open the doors. He screams into the room as they part open.
Dungeon Master S
Hamilton kicks open the door, foiling the ambush beyond. The ranger soaks in the scene, and it's dire indeed!
Rows of barren shelves, empty weapon racks, and vacant armor stands skirt the perimeter of this chamber, lit by numerous candles. In the center of the room, a headless skeleton lies in the middle of a large oval sand pit, surrounded by several arcane symbols and strange, jagged runes etched into the sand. A large, life-sized painting of an obese man hangs on the wall at the far end of the room, its eerily realistic glare boring into the chamber.
A disgustingly fat ogre, clearly under the effects of a Mirror Image spell directs a pair of ogre females to attack!
