I know what comes next, so I abstain from party decisions at this junction.

Realizing they've laid a trap with no bait—and knowing the new arrivers know his team is in this room—Desh locks eyes with his teammates for a brief second. He taps his chest and mouths 'decoy'.
Then he steps out and stalks carefully to the middle of the room, just in front of the dais. ”Yep. I’m up ahead,” he growls, trying to get eyes on all three of them, noting their weapons, armor, and gear. ”Now why don’t you do us both a favor and stop there. Who are you? What do you want?”
Standard for Total Defense (AC 27), then move into the room (position updated)
Then visually search each of the three. What weapons, armor, and other notable items do they have? Desh is trying to determine what role each of them might play in their group.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
| Dungeon Master S |
I'm going to say that everyone who has prepared and hidden still does so unless you say otherwise. IF/when this explodes, we'll pick up at the top.
He is a medium armored man of large size and looks Ulfen of all things. He has a greatsword resting on his shoulder. Next to him is a nervous looking warrior with a cheap looking sword. Finally is a woman with a lute in hand and a rapier at her hip.
From outside the room the man shouts back, "OI! Who are you and what are you doing with my treasure?! This is my quest and my loot!"
He approaches into the room, which will technically set off Kohi's spell. Kohi you can try to hold back your action.
"I need that treasure to become a hero of legend. Unhand it now!"
Kohinoor an-Gul
|
I'll hold it. I'd like to change the trigger to "hostilities commence", if that's possible.
Kohi stays quiet in the back, concentrating on praying to her goddess to delay her divine 'gift' to this would-be 'hero of legend'.
Desh Greyskin
|
”I’m the guy who’s gonna grind all three of you to worm-food if you don’t turn your asses around. I don’t care if your little girlfriend back there is some kinda spell-caster. This treasure—and its fame—are mine and the Society’s.”
Desh holds his ground, shifting to a threatening stance, his blade ready to strike. ”Now get!”
Is this another round? If not, great. If so, Desh will switch to a readied action to attack the first opponent to come in melee.

Still "pausing" initiative"...
"Bah! I have traveled half way across Golarion to find a weapon to defeat the Linnorm. I'll not be turned back now by a man and his lackey! There must be a magic weapon in here, and I must become a hero!"
Desh Greyskin
|
Desh simply holds his ground. It's clear to those who know him that the simple-minded half-orc really only has one answer to this situation.
If someone wants to try a non-lethal solution, you should step up. Left to Desh, this is just a bloodbath in the making.
Garrett Goodleaf
|
Garrett steps out from his hiding spot to address the Ulfen and his companions. "Now, now I do not believe that such hostility is necessary. You say that you are here for some magical weapon to defeat a linnorm. So then I must conclude that you are seeking to claim a crown? Perhaps we could help each other out? It's possible that the item you seek has nothing to do with our mission. Let us all take a deep breath and talk before we turn to bloodshed."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Readying an action to Countersong if the female bard tries anything.
Flyndal Danwrick
|
Flyn maintains his ground, hiding in the shadows, should the newcomers not wish to parlay.
| Dungeon Master S |
The big man looks at his female companion, who nods. "Truce. My people need me to find a magic weapon to defeat a Linnorm. I shall search for one. Have you found any weapons in here?"
Desh Greyskin
|
Desh relaxes his stance … somewhat.
”You know what you’re actually looking for? Weapons can look like all kinds of things.” He shrugs, ”Though much of what we’ve found in here is cursed, so be careful what you ask for.”
| Dungeon Master S |
"I need a blade worthy of slicing scale and sinew!" The man seems to have regain his bluster. "A blade worthy of the skalds!"
| Dungeon Master S |
Agreed!
The Northerner is looking at you waiting for an opportunity to get himself a magic weapon. If someone doesn't answer him soon, he may revert to taking yours...

If folks don't have an alternative by the time that DM S decides to move on, then I'll offer the scimitar from the other room. But, I'll defer to the party if anyone wants to to something else.
| Dungeon Master S |
I'm ready to move on, but I don't want to railroad the party. I'll check in again whenever there's a post, but if no one speaks up in a few hours, I will assume Narad's plan is the one people opt for.
Kohinoor an-Gul

Kohi unbuckles the scimitar from around her waist. "We did find this, in one of the other rooms. It seems to be blessed with the Dawnflower's favor; let us discuss it for a moment, but perhaps you could take it."
Give it up?
Flyndal Danwrick
|
Flyndal frowns in the shadows. Good business demands the newcomers offer something of value in trade, but he remains silent and hidden, still distrustful of this lot.
| Dungeon Master S |
I'm going to go with giving him the scimitar. The Northman seems pleased, "I YJALK SHALL BE HERO OF MY PEOPLE!" He and his partners leave with the same amount of bluster with which they arrived.
A moment later the room trembles, the brazier in the center of the table ignites with emerald fire, and the spectral form of a sage from a forgotten era rises from the flames! It's voice babbles maddeningly as it's semitransparent form hovers overhead. The energies from the spirit animate a pile of corpses in the corner. It looks remarkably like the one outside.
This creature is an allip. It's madness is contagious. If you critically hit it, there's a chance you get it's madness in you. It's very touch destroys not the body, but the mind.
This is no ordinary allip! Time has made it FAR more powerful. Indeed, the stories of yore speak of such myths. This is BAD NEWS!!!!
It's babbling is utterly and completely fascinating. Everyone must make a DC 16 Will save for be fascinated for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 rounds.
Baddies: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
If that's good enough to save, then:
- Free Action: "What is that spectral thing? Is it undead?"
- Move Action: Draw flask of holy water
- Standard Action: throw - range incr: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 4 = 19, Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
- Non Action: 5-foot-step
| Dungeon Master S |
Narad throws his flask directly at the creature. The flask itself passes right through and shatters on the far side. The water, however, sizzles and burns off as it clearly causes the insane undead pain.

Garrett is able to fight off the effects of the strange babbling. He quickly retrieves his lute from his backpack and immediately begins playing, the music imbued with magic to counteract the strange powers!
Move Action to retrieve Lute. Standard to begin Countersong.

Mind suddenly cleared, Desh tries to resolve this current problem the way he usually does.
... directly.
Can someone move Desh into melee? So he can power attack this thing?
Longtooth: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 - 1 = 26 <-- CRIT?

Kohi, bolstered by the bard stabs the monster. It isn't as damaged by spears, but the cleric still lays into pretty hard. Desh, which are you attacking? The incorporeal one or the corpse? Longtooth isn't magic, so I'm guessing the corpse. I've moved you. Let me know if I guessed wrong.
The golem thing tries to slam Desh to pieces.
Slam 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 DMG: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Slam 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 MISS
Kohi and Desh. The thing smells SO bad that it turns your stomach. Fort DC 12 or be nauseated for 1 round.
The allip goes after Garrett!
The creature casts a spell and advances on the bard: Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Will DC 17 or be stricken with a curse that leaves you babbling 50% of the time.
The mythic allip strikes again, this time seeking just to unravel your brain. Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 It misses!
