    Round 1 Team Ranger

Since warned by Sandor, the ranger was already watching the gargoyle statue. Leaving sword sheathed for now, Grym drew his fearsome bladed throwing device. Known in other parts of the world as a "hunk of mung" or something like that, the ranger only knew it was deadly when thrown well, and magically sharp to boot.
When the statue finally moved the ranger wasted no time. At him boy! he let slip the dog of war and ran into the room. Quickly out of the fatal funnel, the ranger hugged the north wall then turned and hurled the crazy throwing weapon. One tiny part of his brain analyzing the weapon he rarely got the chance to use.

    throwing attack 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
    +1 hunga munga 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

The fierce war dog rushed into the room jaws snapping at the stony gargoyle.

    greater magic fang enhanced bite 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

The ranger's hungamunga bounces off the gargoyle's stony skin, the angle not quite perfect enough to hurt it. Bucho's jaws do find purchase though, and the skin gives way to a dark and purple blood.

    Round the First

Odric starts with a slightly unmanly squeal, and orients on the threat forthwith. With alacrity, Odric scoots along the wall, brushing past Grym as he rounds on the enemy from behind the stoic Ranger.

The hunk of mung zings through the air beautifully, but the discordant clang as it ricochets off the gargoyle, followed by the skittering crash as it impacts the paving stones of the tower floor make Odric cringe. He has a fundamental respect for fine weaponry, and hopes the ensorcelled blade is intact after such unfortunate abuse.

    Odric sets his feet and...

    Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20 for 2d4 + 11 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1) + 11 + 9 = 23 damage.

    ...whiffs spectacularly!

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Odric's swing is one best forgotten, and shall not make the tale if you live enough to celebrate at ye olde inn. Indeed, the gargoyle sports a look of incredulity at the poor swing.

My apologies Sandor. Getting caught up now. The readied action IS your turn, so you won't be able to do the full attack otherwise.

Sandor's readied bash is turned aside by the gargoyle. Sandor redoubles his efforts as the gargoyle tries to grab him. The dwarf slams his shield into the beast and foils the grab! The gargoyle is shunted back a bit, but stays on his feet.

Gaius isn't so lucky, and is now firmly grabbed by the gargoyle brute.

His bearhug is pretty intense. By rule, you can't do what you want, but I'm the GM. So here's how it's going to play; you can try to break free as a normal action per grappling SEE HERE. But I'm going to give you this. Make a Combat Maneuver check using Sleight of hand. If you beat his CMD, you grabbed an ankle. So when he drops you, you're holding on. You're still in DEEP trouble when he notices, but it will buy you some time.

someone please check my math on his 2nd and 3rd attacks: I'm calculating his Power Attack to be -4 to hit, which would put him at -9 on 2nd attack and -14 on 3rd (relative to his 1st) due to Furious Focus. Correct?

Black: Tries to move Odric to the edge. ATK: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39 This draws an AoO from Odric. The gargoyle yanks Odric to the edge of darkness!

Grey: Tries to fly away with Gaius, unaware of the gambit played by Morkeleb. AoOs from Sandor, Bucho, and Grym. Sandor only gets one if he didn't use it on white. Results of his turn after the AoOs are resolved.

Odric was about to attack the writhing ball of Gaius and stone, but he heard Mork's shput and with trust for the wizard, hoped that attacking a different gargoyle would not be a mistake.

Odric swings with measured force at the other stony foe, then swings again. "I bet you didn't know I'm a Stone Cold Killer! Odric grunts on the first swing.

    Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29 for 2d4 + 11 + 9 ⇒ (3, 2) + 11 + 9 = 25 damage.

And my friends and I? As hE winds up for the second swing, he exclaims, "we will..." but its a feint!

As the Gargoyle reacts, Odric swings from an entirely different direction, "we will..." another feint! Or was it? With a stutter step, and a changed up timing, Odric slices, and as he hits he exclaims, "rock you!"

-ooc- sorry for the forced puns lol

    Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 19 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 19 - 5 = 25 for 2d4 + 11 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1) + 11 + 9 = 25 damage.

Sheisse, and an AoO: Odric takes full advantage of the careless maneuver, where the Gargoyle exposed its flank for a moment. With the creature exposed and distracted, Odric's blade tests the things hardness, like pumice on a tile.

Sandor slams the gargoyle with a shocking amount of force. The gargoyle slides towards the edge but keeps his feet. The dwarf tries to follow up, but only one shot connects. It pushes the gargoyle right to the very edge.

The party continues to work the field and demonstrate their expertise. Grym slides a blade into the ribs of another gargoyle. Man and dog push every inch, and this time they drop the beast! Gaius lands deftly on his feet.

    Morkeleb's words drive like Sandor's shield, Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16, and it's defense lasts but a second. It's red eyes turn to it's comrade.
