Round One
The ranger casts protection from energy on his trusty canine buddy.
With his new fire resistent pelt and susper speedy hasted legs, the dog runs to the far side to set up a flank for next round.
DeGrog Coarse-Hair
Please see discussion
Retcon please: DeGrog makes sure Sandor has two Air Crystals; pretty sure he already gave one to Sandor earlier. DeGrog also approaches the scene with a Resist Fire(10) potion in hand.
DeGrog chugs his potion, and positions himself near Akram, hopefully in a spot with a clear view, but some kind of cover nearby. DeGrog's ready for anything (hopefully) with a focus on keeping the Truthspeaker alive (as well as 'imself). DeGrog will give Akram cover if nasty fire spews their way.
Thorgrym the Tracker
Is Gaius on vacation or something?
Its just shy of 72 hours. Anybody want to autopilot the Calistrian? I dont know what his spells are. How about he goes in and keeps back from the wyrm, but ready to support with clerical magic?
Dungeon Master S
Round 1 Summary: DeGrog moves to protect the wizened Truthspeaker who is praying in the presence of the Cindermaw. Gaius moves to prepare for Sandor's visceral rebirth. Odric does ????
The Cindermaw makes its move:
CHOMP: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (8) + 24 = 32
With a single motion it takes the dwarf into it's maw causing an immediate 2d12 + 12 ⇒ (4, 8) + 12 = 24 damage and it's breath burns hot for 1d6 ⇒ 3 fire damage. It then tries to swallow the dwarf: CMB: 1d20 + 40 ⇒ (8) + 40 = 48.
Sandor is up.
Ferox (Round 1, complete)

Sandor slides down the gullett on his trusty shield. Fighting his way through the stomach grabbing any undigested magic items.and and starts to carve his way out of the beast. he stows his shield on his back.
Damage taken 24/94 Fire damage taken 3/96

Sandor Stouthammer
Thanks M.... so as an addendum to my actions
Sandor takes the bottle and pulls opens it. Starting the flow for the beginning of a most awesome enema.
Additional Dmg: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6 That's a total of 18 dmg. and the dice gods make it a consistant 2 on the rolls
Thorgrym the Tracker
Sandor takes the bottle and pulls opens it. Starting the flow for the beginning of a most awesome enema.
Cant say that Id want to go out that end...
Dungeon Master S
That's too much for one round Sandor. The slice is all you get.
The dwarf feels what it's like to be digested over a thousand years. The grinding of the fiery belly quickly begins to break the dwarf down. With all of his might he tries to slice his way out. Sharp eyed heroes can see the dagger create a slight bulge in the beast's belly. It begins to trash, exposing a wicked stinger at the end of its tail that begins thrashing about.
Round 2:
Ferox Current
Morkeleb On Deck
DeGrog TBD (May need autopilot.)
Grym & Bucho TBD
Gaius TBD

Round the Second
Is it fair to assume We get flanking bonuses from Sandor?
Odric lunges at the beast's side and makes a heroic slashing attack to open a path for Sandor's escape. 5 foot east, full attack
Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 17 + 2 = 28 for 2d4 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 + 9 = 25 damage.
Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 2 = 26 for 2d4 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (1, 3) + 10 + 9 = 23 damage.
Dungeon Master S
No, Sandor definitely does not flank.
Sandor Stouthammer
well from what the guy said it's like a path of being reborn, not rejected... so spitting out is more like being rejected by the god not reborn. So back off, and let me get out, if it's not going well, then the Dimension door idea that mork had is good
Morkeleb the Mighty
well from what the guy said it's like a path of being reborn, not rejected... so spitting out is more like being rejected by the god not reborn...
Good thing there's someone who can confirm that hypothesis!
In Shoanti: Akarm! What if the Worm spits him out? Does that still qualify for the ritual??
if it's not going well, then the Dimension door idea that mork had is good
If you recall, I put forth the fact that "if it didn't work, Morkeleb would probably die." The only way to get it to work would be for Morkeleb to DD inot the worm's gut, grab hold of Sandor, and DD back out. Doable, but...a last resort!
Dungeon Master S
"Aye lad. That counts. He's in there well and good."
Morkeleb the Mighty
"Aye lad. That counts. He's in there well and good."
The wizard gives the Truthspeaker a nod, then lifts his staff (which glows its customary green) and falls into concentration, forming his left hand into the Puppetmaster shape...
but Mike patiently waits his turn in the combat order before posting his actual action...
Sandor Stouthammer
Sweet.... This Dwarf is gonna be one hell of a Grocery Shout then!!!
Ferox Kerr
Round 2
Seeing the dwarf get swallowed, Ferox says a small prayer on his behalf, wishing for his safe return.
At the same time, Ferox takes aim at the worm, drawing insight into the creature's weaknesses from Abadar. He looses at volley at the worm.
Activates Bane: Magical Beast.

Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 + 2d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 + (3, 3) + 4 + 1 = 22
Morkeleb the Mighty
ROUND 2
Morkeleb brings his will to bear, attempting to force the Worm to do the wizard's bidding...
Use Irrisistable Demand class feature (Will DC 22)
i'm reminded of Order of the Stick when Varsuvius got the dragon to "Vomit. Now. And aim for the halfling."
Dungeon Master S
Ferox begins to rain arrows down on the beast, but each arrow bounces off of the unique beast's hide. Morkeleb tries to contact the mind of the beast, hoping it doesn't lash back like the monstrosity in the ancient temple. Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23, and while the enchanter doesn't grab hold, he can tell that the beast's mind is within his reach.
Round 2:
Ferox: Can't pierce the hide.
Morkeleb: Tries unsuccessfully to grab hold of its mind.
DeGrog: Current (autopilot?)
Grym & Bucho: On deck
Gaius TBD
Odric TBD
Worm Will continue to digest Sandor...and more.
Sandor TBD
Cindermaw:
Belly of the beast: 18
Morkeleb the Mighty
for this round, I will.
Since we're not trying to kill this thing--in fact, i think we're *trying not* to kill this thing--the Pirate will stand between the Truthspeaker and the Worm, and ready an action to intercept any attack on the old man--bodily, if necessary.
Sound like what Bucho would do?
Thorgrym the Tracker
Round 2
The ranger and dog charge forward together for a FLANKING DOUBLE CHARGE POWER TEAM ATTACK.
Grym 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 13 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 = 28
scimitar 1d6 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 6 = 15
Offhand 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 2 = 27
Shark Slayer 1d4 + 4 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + 6 = 13
Bucho 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 29
Bite 1d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 6 = 13
2nd 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 29
bite 1d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 6 = 17
probably cant hurt this thing anyway...
Morkeleb the Mighty
Sandor Stouthammer
Ooc- I'm not trying to buck the plan here, but WHY aren't we killing it?
Because it is their "god" and killing it would really really hamper relations... That is if we can kill it. My question is why hang around and take unnecessary damage when the plan was to get me swallowed. Which so far is on track.. now let me get out of there.
Dungeon Master S
Round 2:
Ferox: Can't pierce the hide.
Morkeleb: Tries unsuccessfully to grab hold of its mind.
DeGrog: Current (autopilot?)
Grym & Bucho: Protects Akram

Dungeon Master S
Grym, Bucho, and Odric lash out and hurt the beast, which causes a grimace from Akram. Odric's last swing misses. The beast retaliates with primal fury.... [ later when I get home to the module. We're out of power here at school so I cna't get to it.
Round 2:
Ferox: Can't pierce the hide.
Morkeleb: Tries unsuccessfully to grab hold of its mind.
DeGrog: Current (autopilot?)
Grym & Bucho: Protects Akram
Gaius Current

Sandor Stouthammer
Cmon ya big beastie lets give ya tummy a rumble throw me up now Sandor says and Morkelb can hear through the message enchantment. While the bottle continues to dispense it's endless water. Sandor saves the crystals till there's no room to breathe.
Beast slayer dagger+PA: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 10 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 10 + (6, 1) = 20

Damage: 1d6 + 10 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 10 + (5, 2) = 18
Morkeleb the Mighty
ROUND 3
DON'T KILL THE WORM!! If you must strike, don't strike to kill!
maybe keep its attention by attacking w/non-lethal force? that does give you a -4 to hit though...
Morkeleb redoubles his efforts, trying to force the beast to his will again.
Use Irrisistable Demand class feature (Will DC 22)
If successful...
Dungeon Master S
The worm goes absolutely nuts on Grym and Odric for the damage they've wrought.
the worm chomps down on Odric: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (3) + 26 = 29 and 4d8 + 13 ⇒ (3, 6, 7, 8) + 13 = 37 and FIRE: 1d6 ⇒ 4 and then he tries to promptly swallow the fighter: CMB: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (3) + 33 = 36. Odric vanishes down the worm's neck.
Meanwhile the worm's tail drills Grym 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (20) + 26 = 46 confirmation: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (15) + 26 = 41 Damage: 4d8 + 26 ⇒ (3, 7, 3, 4) + 26 = 43 and FIRE: 1d6 ⇒ 6. It then injects a massive jet of poison into the ranger: FORT: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 which instantly starts sapping his strength, STR damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2.
Sandor then, promptly slices himself out of the beast and drops to the ground. Akram's eyes grow wide in respect and awe. MEanwhile, Odric is getting digested, but Morkeleb tries to have the worm vomit him out. Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21. the beast's mind bows to the enchanter and Odric is spit back out before he can begin to feel his skin digested.
Cindermaw: 83
Belly of the beast: Out
Morkeleb the Mighty
Morkeleb's jaw is set in concentration as his will has, for now, overpowered that of the monster. He holds his right hand in a rigid claw, which begins to shake with the strain.
I'll try...to make it leave...not sure if it will work...we've done what we came to do...I say we go...before it gets another of us...
Dungeon Master S
With the meal vomited, the Great and Powerful Cindermaw retreats into the ground. Grym however is rapidly losing strength.
No initiative, but he takes an additional 1d4 ⇒ 1 STR damage. It looks like it's going to keep going if one of you doesn't do something soon. I'll give each person a round before he takes more damage....
Thorgrym the Tracker
Aahhh... poison... Thorgrym holds his magic dagger in on hand as if trying to draw strength from it. His dog sniffs at the huge wound the giant tail stinger left behind.
Dungeon Master S
FORT 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
FORT 3: 1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 5 = 25
Grym continues to feel the effect of the poison. He resists the damage for a bit, but it's not enough.
FORT 4: 1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 12 + 5 = 33
FORT 5: 1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 5 = 26
FORT 6: 1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 5 = 36
Finally the poison runs its course. Without Morkeleb's antitoxin, Grym may have died.
Morkeleb the Mighty
The wizard looks about, staff held horizontally and pointed in front of him while he scans the area, and takes stock of the injuries--and making sure everyone is accounted for.
Well, at least you boys both egressed the same end you entered.
He turns to the Truthspeaker. Akram, I can tell by your expression that you witnessed these events. I trust you will live up to your title and vouch for our good Warriors' completion of the Rite when the time comes. Now I suggest we leaev this place immediately, in case Cindermaw decides he'd like a third course.
Sandor Stouthammer
After a complete bath for both myself and Odric (no matter if he wants it or not) from the decanter.
Now that be refreshin. That's an experience I not be forgettin anytime soon. Friends I thank you for the items that were loaned. The dagger is exquisite, and Ferox ya spell of protection be amazing. I thank each an everyone of you. Now I be havin a good tale to tell me grandkids someday.
He hands the items back to their owners. Hey lad ya went for a lil trip there did ya. I see ya jealous of the Old Dwarf ya had ta get yaself in there too ehh ? Sandor says with an easy teasing tone and smirk. He then proceeds to walk with Donkeyhorse putting his armor back on.
Thorgrym the Tracker
The ranger thanks Mork for the antitoxin and congradulates Sandor and Odric for surviving the belly of the beast.
Grym agrees that we should get the hell out of there.
