OK. The party heals up. (It was non-lethal damage, anyway.)

The party decides to try to deal with Aeteperax's lieutenants before closing the Dark Window.

The party heads towards the Bell Tower's gallery.

Scattered about this room are coils of thick rope and three large bells. There is no ceiling—merely the steeple of the monastery's bell tower high above, accessible via a spiral stair to the south. A long rope dangles down from above, attached to the great bell sixty feet overhead.

Along the way up, it looks like there might be a couple of side rooms leading off from the stairs.

The party climbs the stairs and soon reaches a landing of sorts. You listen at the door and can hear somewhat nonsensical muttering from the other side.

You carefully open the door and see a snake-like creature with a humanoid-looking head.

She was staring at the night sky and mumbling something. When you open the door, she says: "Oh! Pardon me, but have you heard word from Szangi? He’s not emerged from his lair since his last visit to that little human village, and I worry for the dear!"

As in, 10ft in any direction, so I can take a 5ft step to a flanking position? If not, I'll just 5ft into a flurry. The party does the Pathfinder pat-down and discovers a really nice magical necklace. It occurs to the party that there's a theme here. Aeteperax is interested in something "out there."
