"Those grenades look fun. Hope you all don't mind me snagging a couple," Ted grabs a few toys from the pile.

Grix's claw freezes just as he was about to put the credstick in the pocket of his vest. He turns his antennae miserably towards Arc "You're very right Arc, very right. Though maybe they don't have any surviving family. Or their family has takhen a vow of poverty. Then we khan makhe the best use of it. It's possible, right?" He holds the credstick out so it can be taken away from him.
Arcalinte folds the credstick back into Grix's hand.
"We'll see Grix. Maybe the Collective will let you keep it as a reward for the information, especially if we clear the ship so they can use it again," he says with a wink.
S-P37 'Spectre'

Spectre grabs the cred stick from Grix as he extends his hand.
"Consider this a bailment," the droid says. "I will hold the funds until we consider the best utilization of the credits. We have expenses, too."
We can certainly vote on what to do with it. Spectre says keep the credits. ;P
Spectre wanders over to the gear. "I expended one of my frag grenades earlier. Perhaps I should take one of these to offset the loss."
I'd like to grab one of the shock grenades, if I could. Ted, you want to spell out which ones you wanted so we know what's left?
Isu Greelax Zyte
|
"We need the creds to finance our operations. The droid is absolutely correct, this one is shocked to realize."
I'll take a grenade too. Ted, can you distribute them and say who gets who?
S-P37 'Spectre'
|
Spectre's head swivels toward Isu.
"You are shocked that I am correct?" the droid responds, evidently perturbed.
"You will find, Isu Greelax Zyte of Clam Tarma, House Hadula, Scion of Isuma the Missing, that the odds of my being incorrect are low. Very low."

I'll take a grenade too. Ted, can you distribute them and say who gets who?
Grix gets Spectre... lol
Ted's crouched form huddles over the pile defending against the advances of the others requesting his new possessions, but he sighs, loosens, and starts tossing out explosives, "Take what you want. Just don't detonate them anywhere that might leak atmosphere."
Loot Divvy
* Spectre: Incendiary Grenade I
* Isu: Shock Grenade I
* Ted: Shock Grenade I
* Ted: Stickybomb Grenade I
* Ted: 2x detonators
* Ted: Engineering Tool Kit
* fire extinguisher
* 500 UPBs
Anyone else want a grenade? Detonators? I don't mean to hog the loot, but it matches Ted pretty good. ;)

Arcalinte is about to protest Spectre's taking of the credstick, but stops himself and just sighs. He makes a mental note to offer some of his own creds to the Collective, just in case.
Out of curiosity, can Grix and Solaria HEAR that thought, or do they have to be actively telepathing to hear Arc's thoughts?
GM Snowheart
My take on it is it’s stiil like a conversation where you have to want the other person to “hear” what you’re “saying”. No involuntary mind reading or probing.
Grix Krizvit
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Grix morosely watches the credstick disappear into Spectre's pocket. "Alas sweet credstick, I knew ye for but a moment, but you'll forever have a place, in my heart." He broadcasts his impromptu peom indiscriminately, but feigns ignorance if anyone tries to tie him to it.
@Ted and everyone else grabbing stuff: Distributing loot is what the loot log is for! Mark your names down in there so we have a clear record of who is holding onto what. I've already entered all of the items from the crew quarters.

Sydney flips her laser pistol into the air, catches the weapon, and returns it to her hip holster. "Nice job. Not like those goblins were any threat compared to the squid."

"You did the right thing, Grix," Arcalinte comments, knowing there were only two members of this party with telepathy and Solaria hadn't shown any interest in making extra money.
He joins the others at the door, listening with his sword at the ready.

The other door leads to some crew quarters as well though these are truly abandoned and present neither danger nor interesting items of any value.
Across from the crew quarters, you find a galley that is well stocked even if the quality of the food has degraded somewhat. You find all the regular staples and spices in addition to packaged rations.
Arcalinte Soter

Arcalinte breathes a sigh of relief as the contents of the room are inoffensive and non-hostile.
"I think we've cleared the ship...or at least the habitable areas. Let's check the cargo hold, see if there are any more akatas hiding there, and then we can look for Ambassador Nor's package. Would you like me to scout ahead, Isu?"
Grix Krizvit
Grix seems disappointed when the rest of the crew quarters yield nothing of interest. "I wouldn't say we khleared it Arc. There are some more rooms on the starboard side of the Akhreon. Maybe some other khre- I mean, evidence to gather." He clasps his claws together.
Leading the way to the three starboard rooms, he keeps his antennae roving. He is on the lookout for both traps left behind by goblins and any more akatas. He rasps out "Kheep an eye out with me Arc?"
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Isu and Arcalinte clear the aft-facing doors on the starboard side, finding additional crew quarters that are as empty of threats as they are of loot. As they go to check the bow-facing door, however, Sydney spots the signs of a trap on the door.

Spectre's head swivels toward Arcalinte.
"I assume you reference a vulgar pejorative of your species. I am familiar with the vernacular of the lower class and underworld."
He ponders the request for a moment.
"In which case I will remind you that I care very little what you think."
;P
Arcalinte Soter

"You can care very little what I think all you want, but I care about how you treat others. We're not going to be a cohesive group if we constantly disrespect each other."
Isu Greelax Zyte

Isu snorts at Arc's response. "Surely you jest. You have been the most disrespectful of any here! Calling him a dick. That was fully unearned."
Grix Krizvit
Grix claps Arc on the back "A little bikhering never hurt anyone! In fakht, bikhering with your khrewmates is a sign you're thinkhing about each other. It's good!" He scrutinizes the door "It's good you saw something Sydney! But what khind of trap is it?"
Grix doesn't have engineering. I think this is all going to be Spectre and Sydney?

Isu snorts at Arc's response. "Surely you jest. You have been the most disrespectful of any here! Calling him a dick. That was fully unearned."
"You haven't spent as much time with him as I have. It's fully earned. He doesn't even deny it!" Arcalinte retorts. "You at least care about the wellbeing of others, instead of just credits and how many can be wheedled out of everyone we meet!"
Grix Krizvit
Isu snorts at Arc's response. "Surely you jest. You have been the most disrespectful of any here! Calling him a dick. That was fully unearned."

Specter maintains his gaze at Arcalinte, even as the others discuss him.
”Perhaps you will find comfort in knowing that I have a learning algorithm that allows me to gain additional skill and insight over time. It is possible that I might learn how to feign ‘caring,’ for example, with enough observation. However, that we could obtain more credits by pretending that they have little value to us is doubtful.”
He processes the discussion for a moment, then adds, ”If it will assist in group cohesion if I better utilize vulgar pejoratives, I will attempt to follow your lead.”
Sydney Jordan
"You have discovered your own trap to disable," he says.
Sidney blinks. Then, laughs: "Yeah, I did. It's kinda my specialty." She shrugs, "besides piloting. Thanks for noticing." Sydney smirks to herself and moves to trapped the door. "Some space, please. Unless you wanna help." See map.
Sydney leans her head towards the device, one hand on her jacket pocket, the other one fiddling with the keypad(?) What do I roll? Computers? Engineering?
Computers: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Engineering is also +8 if it matters.
GM Snowheart
Website is acting wonky and eating my posts with a crash to the goblin 404 screen. Trying again (with the "short short version").
Sydney is able to disarm the trap. On the other side of the door you find a storeroom with the crew's personal tools. You find another pile of resinous shards along with a disruptive fusion seal, two mk 1 serums of healing and three medpatches.

Arcalinte's eyes and armor flare a bit as he gets more agitated.
S-P37 'Spectre'

"Credits may be utilized to help people," Spectre responds as he begins an inventory of the items they have found.
"At least, your share of them could..."
Spectre examines the resinous shards, but can't find a relevant entry in his databank.

Ted harumphs at the conversation, "You'll never get anywhere arguing with a computer. Better to swap out his core program card. Spec, you got any other personalities available?"
Grix Krizvit
As the others finally wind down their bickering, Grix fishes the healing serums and medpatches out of the storeroom. "Aha! Arc, we have the tools to help you throw off that disease from the akhatas. Show me where you were bitten!"
Grix takes a look at the infected area and unseals one of the medpatches. "Okhay, hold still, this will be very khuickh if you don't move." With a little too much drama, he slaps the patch onto the infected area.
So, the way the treat disease function of the medicine skill works is that once you spend 10 minutes treating the disease, for each subsequent save the creature would make against the disease, you make a medicine check. If that medicine check exceeds the disease's DC, the creature gains a +4 bonus on their save against the disease. So, since I don't know how many saves Arc still needs to make, here are some medicine checks...
Medicine to treat disease: 1d20 + 5 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 10 = 32
Medicine to treat disease: 1d20 + 5 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 10 = 20

Isu returns to the initial junction in the middle of the ship while Grix is treating Arc. Looking north and south at the closed hatches, he remembers that the atmosphere has been returned to the ship and depressurizes his suit. Speaking into the comms, he says to the group, "The hatches are closed. You can breath the air. This one is at the initial junction, and all is quiet. There are several more rooms to explore, once the treatment of the half-elf is complete."

Sorry, all. I was ferrying the husband and then the dog to their respective medical appointments on Friday then the weekend was consumed with toddlers and social crud.
On the Akata's disease, checks need to be made once per day. It is cured with two consecutive saves. We will save Grix's excellent skill checks (and the medpatches) for the appropriate times should they still be required. Arc can re-roll his, uh, somewhat less excellent saving throws at the appropriate time.
With power fully restored and the lockouts from the bridge disabled, Isu is able to secure the hatches and restore atmosphere to the interior of the Acreon. The engineering spaces of the vessel are still unexplored, as are the port and starboard cargo holds.
Ted Under

Ted grins at Arc, and raises his arms in a spacer shrug. It seemed silly to defend a machine, but Arc was a good half-man doing what good half-men do. No use spoiling that.
Ted saunters off after Isu, chatting over his com, "Wait up, big man, don't get caught around this place alone."
S-P37 'Spectre'

Spectre points out that, according to the schematics he downloaded previously, they still haven't finished exploring the ship.
"Engineering and the cargo holds might hold further clues," he says. "I suggest we start with engineering first, in the event there is a problem we need to resolve to keep the ship stable."
Isu Greelax Zyte

"This one is not concerned, for the vessel is small and every location is but a short sprint." He look around the hallways. "But where IS the engineering bay?"
