With the sheer number of enemies remaining, and their continued success at throwing damage around at the whole party, Ayodhan keeps the divine energy flowing. Unfortunately, he's starting to feel some side effects from the places where he's being attacked.

Feeling a little woozy, and frustrated that he's still being attacked, Ayodhan decides to start taking some more proactive action, stepping back and concentrating on his holy symbol to throw a magic missile at the one which has hurt him more.

5' step away to cast freely, then use bonded item to cast magic missile at one of the pygmies attacking me.

Theodemar clutches his wooden mace, and rather than use it's magic, dodges backward. In the brief respite he gets, he steps back, and casts a spell. Chanting quickly, he weaves the arcane symbols in the air with his mace.

The vegepygmies are no where to be seen now, you can give chase through the thick forest if you choose.

Several spears that are not really fit to be used by anyone other than a vegepygmy. A few strange trinkets collected over the years equaling 100g.

Vesryn will gather up the trinkets and scan for any surrounding threats.
"Everyone in one piece?"


Ayodhan checks over the rest of the party to see how well his channeled energy has kept up with the wounds the Vegepygmies were inflicting on them. It seems that, aside from the sick feelings some of them have as a result of the wounds, they're pretty well intact.

"I feel ill, but I believe my injuries have healed. It seems we all make a good team, even when outnumbered and surrounded."

This is my count the following damage from the three rounds (including surprise) of attack:

Drahzar - 2+6+3 = 11
Theodemar - 3+6 = 9
Ayodhan - 5+3+1+2 = 11
Elrinides - 6
Raina - 5+4 = 9
Rex - 3

Since I went after them, and healed a total of 11 between the two channels, I think we should all be unscathed at the end of this fight! Not bad, given the beating some of us took.

Theodemar pats himself down, looking for injuries where he'd been struck. Finding none, he turns to Ayodhan.

"Once again I find myself in your debt. Keep saving my life like this, and I'll have to start putting you in danger just to pay the debt!"

Elrinides stows his elven Curve blade and stretches his arms and legs.

They weren't particularly skilled warriors were they? But it did feel good to dance again... should we press on before they return? They may have simply been some sort of scouting party.


Ayodhan laughs heartily at Theodemar's comment, stopping suddenly when the stomach action makes him feel like he's going to start tossing breakfast.

"I often find the skill of the warrior has little bearing on how much it hurts to be stabbed by them," he muses in response to Elrinides from behind his hand hovering in front of his mouth. "But you may be right about them being a scouting party. I agree that we should definitely move on as soon as we can in case the ones that got away decide to come back with reinforcements."

Vesryn nodded, stowing his curve blade and switching to his bow once more. He fitted an arrow, sighing as he did so.
"Maybe I'll actually get a damn shot off this time!"


After you gather yourselves and begin the march again, those of you that were shaken find that the jolt of adrenaline was just what you needed to be rid of it. Those of you sickened can reroll fort save, this time -2. If you fail you are fatigued.

"Well that was a nice reception. Maybe we should try talking to them next time?"

Drahzar was kind of out of it during the fight from being sickened and shaken. otherwise he would have tried."

"I have no objection to that," Ayodhan says, finally starting to feel the deleterious effects of the combat wear off. "Though I, and it seems many of us as well, didn't even know they were there until the stabbing started. When it gets to that point, talking tends to lose its effectiveness."

Something is not right with me... Those plant men seem to have done a bit of a number on me. I am not used to being this winded from so little effort.


You continue on a bit longer. Those fatigued and sick are starting to fall behind. Drahzar sees a clearing ahead, but suddenly a booming roar is heard and the stomping of something very large running in the forest. A head in the clearing a large hornless rhinocerous of sorts appears.

Knowledge Nature 35:
This is a Baluchitherium
It looks wounded. Another roar is heard and you see one of the largest dinosaurs you have ever seen. A glimpse to what Drahzar's companion may some day become. The Tyrannosaurus viciously gnashes the creature's thick hide and begins to eat it right in front of you. It seems to have not noticed the party, for the moment. Roll Stealth subtracting modifiers for sickened or fatigued as appropriate. Unless you have a wisdom of 3, you will not be attacking this as that would be extremely fool hardy.


prescience 1/6: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Awestruck in the face of such an enormous creature being preyed upon by an even huger creature, Ayodhan takes a glimpse into the future to get a sense for how his instinctual direction would pan out. Horrified that he nearly tried to hide among a whole pile of dry, snapping twigs, he goes the other direction instead... only to step directly into another pile of dry, snapping twigs his gaze into the immediate future hadn't shown him. He winces at the noise and hopes he hasn't just killed them all.

Vesryn's visible eye widened with shock and trepidation. He'd never seen a creature this big! He began checking the straps of his gear to ensure nothing would jangle around when he moved, when he heard an audible snap. He looked over at Ayodhan in horror, and his hand flew to his blade. If the creature charged, perhaps he'd be able to at least buy them some time.

Human

Raina, seeing Elrinides drag behind, stays back with her ally. She doesn't want anyone to get to far separated from everyone else.

Hey, you aren't looking too good. Is there anything I can do? Do you need me to carry something, or get someone hardier to assist you?

She hears the roar, but has no clue what it could be. She spots the larger than life t-rex, out of fear and desperation tries to hide.

Theodemar is happily wandering along, feeling as good as can be. However, when the T-Rex is seen, his eyes go wide as saucers, and he dives behind a bush at the base of a tree. His movements are quick and silent, and he silently prays he isn't seen by the monstrous dinosaur.

Am I both sickened and fatigued... or just fatigued? If both then My stealth check should be -2 more.

Conditions:

Fatigued:A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.

Possibly ? Sickened:The character takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.


You are both sickened and fatigued if you failed both.

The T Rex seems occupied with eating his meal at the moment and does not see the party...yet

Drahzar:
Having a T Rex as a companion gives you some insight into how they act. You know that as an apex predator, once they have made their kill and eat, they care for little else as they have no natural enemies so threats to themselves are rare if any. You believe that if you wait for feed it will fall asleep and be a lot easier to sneak past.

Vesryn nodded before quietly moving behind a tree to wait.


Ayodhan nods his understanding and tries not to move any more lest he snap more branches. He offers a quick, silent prayer to Desna to keep the gigantic beast interested in its meal and nothing else, like odd noises.

Ayodhan once again looks into the future to see which of the branches around him are most likely to break if stepped on while sneaking away now that the titanic creature is dozing.

This time his extra sight is actually helpful in picking out a path that doesn't sound like fireworks going off. He offers a silent prayer of thanks to Desna for the good fortune she's bestowed on them that the monster took no interest in them.

Vesryn catches Elrindes' eye, and flashes some military hand signals, indicating that they are not alone.
What direction was the figure going, and would it be safe to follow?


Seems to be walking parallel to the group, about 50 yards to your right. Safe is relative, you may wake the sleeping beast.

Elrinides stretches and sneaks a look in the direction indicated by Vesryn. Seeing nothing himself he decides to enlist Drazhar's eyes. Taking his time and keeping a low profile he slides over next to Drazhar.

whispers in Drazhar's ear:

Vesryn spotted something off over my right shoulder . I know your eyes are pretty good. If it's hostile would the Big Dino be drawn to an entangle so we could slip away? Maybe kill two birds with one stone?

Theo, as silent as he can manage, creeps along with the party. His moves are graceful, and he is obviously enjoying the adventure. Even with the scare of the T-Rex, he has a grin on his face.
