Geoffroi shrugs in a manner he picked up from the Gallic peasants on his father’s estate. He speaks in Italian to include Baldemar in the conversation
“Noble sir, I have always been a seeker of knowledge. I spent many years in the Outremer studying the texts of learned scholars of the Muslim world, as well as the texts preserved in those libraries from the Jahiliyyah. I thought myself well-versed in the ways of the world, and man’s place in it.
Yet, since I have come to this city, I have been presented with rumors and tantalizing glimpses of a secret world that seems to exist alongside and intermeshed with our own. I have been appraised that these ... beings ... walk Venice’s streets, and that Sir Baldemar ‘s condition may have been caused by them. I have also been made aware that others that claim they exist also marshal forces to combat them.
As for me, I am still unsure of what to make of all this. I am a scholar, and the first rule of scholarship is not to jump to conclusions without strong evidence. I thought that perhaps you might have another piece to this particularly vexing puzzle. “

Paralyzed bu this feeling you stare at the ceiling, your heart hammering in your ears, the rush of blood to your neck and into this creatures' mouth leaves you feeling hot and cold all at the same time.
Soon enough the ceiling dims from view and you feel yourself begin to fade away. Moments later a rush of hot liquid is forced down your throat, you drink greedily not letting go for you know not how long. Then the pain returns once more, a writhing pain that even Vykos' torture cannot match.

"Guilty as charged, I am afraid." Lorenzo says to his Sire's comment about questing for knowledge.
Thinking briefly on Ambrogino's terms, Lorenzo somewhat pained says, "While I am not completely turning over one that has done nothing but cooperate with us, he is a walking, talking violation of the Silence of the Blood, far worse than our own deathly pallor. At the same time, I wonder if Yeti's countenance is simply an advanced form of our own curse."
The pained tone leaves Lorenzo's voice as the analytical and practical side, some may even say less humane side, takes charge. "Seeking your Sire's advice seems wise to say the least, but we are to turn over Yeti regardless? Hardly seems fair. What do we get for turning over one who is under our protection?"
"He seeks asylum from his mortal family and their vampiric members and also seeks knowledge that his bloodline has been forbidden thus far...what exactly does the Clan proper get out of this arrangement?"
Onfroi considers what has happened so far with Alexander and truly needs to know what this fiend is doing so he simply steels himself and says I am prepared to let go all that has gone before and embrace what is to come.

The Hunger becomes excruciating as he nears and you sink your fangs into his neck.

Alessandro holds still for a moment, quite still, frighteningly still, then continues without addressing any of Geoffroi's questions, "Are you working with one named Sergei Volkov?"
When the ensorcelled man enters the room, something is sparked in Maria's gut. It spreads like wildfire, a primal, atavistic feeling, and before she knows it, soon her entire body launches itself towards him!
Her mouth hurts for a moment. Then blood floods into her mouth--a sweet, sweet nectar that tastes better than the finest wine she drank yesterday--
--and after a moment, the realization strikes her like an arrow to the heart.
She's drinking from the man. And enjoying it.
Though the temptation is strong... so strong... she somehow manages to not lose herself in the rush.

"Ambrogino offers knowledge for knowledge. That seems a fair trade, but he also asks for asylum from his family and for one that we have under our protection. It would seem that Ambrogino is attempting to broker a rather lopsided trade, my Sire." Lorenzo says before adding, "We had an agreement with Yeti, my Sire. Would not handing him over to Ambrogino break that bargain? I am not questioning your judgment, my Sire, but would simply hope there would be some tangible, immediate benefit to betraying Yeti's trust."

The Sister, perhaps that moniker no longer applies?, is not quite satiated but able to control her desire and pulls away. He sends the Mortal stumbling out into the hallway.
"Well done my dear. Now, we must discuss the rules of the Night, the most important things you need to know.
The First Tradition: The Covenant. Those closest to Caine must rule as we are possessed of the most power and wisdom. It is through us that the rest shall prosper. In exchange, those closest to Caine offer their protection to those who dwell within their Domain. My words of acceptance to you are a sacred bond between us their meaning shaped through the millennia to what was presented to you this night. To obey me is to uphold The Covenant between us both.
The Second Tradition: The Domain. All Cities are the Prince's City, he and the Elders protect and nurture it by enforcing its laws, the laws laid down by Caine. Those who would seek refuge in any Domain will submit to the Prince's will. He shall dictate who shall feed and where they shall feed to ensure that the flock is not thinned and stays vibrant. You shall pay respect to him and to those who he allows to dwell within the Domain. Those who are not welcome are to be brought before him, such is the duty of all who dwell here.
The Third Tradition: Progeny. As the eldest in the Domain only the Prince has the wisdom to understand whether the flock has grown sufficiently enough to sustain more of our Brothers and Sisters. The Fourth Tradition: The Accounting. Those who Sire take on a great burden. For the actions of the Childe reflect upon the Sire. Your successes are his success and your failures are his failures. I agree, breaking our word to Yeti is an issue. I am considering forcing him to stay here and thereby forcing him to keep Yeti here else we've no bargain.
That though means leaving him here alone with you".

Einar jolts back into awareness compelled to consume. Thirst, hunger, and an almost abstract need combine into a drive to consume more of whatever he's been drinking, whatever he can lay hands on, the whole of the world itself. His mad-bright eyes, full of strange visions of shadow and color, pick out every detail of Dragan's repulsive face - the creases of his eyes and jowls, the flare of his nostrils, the cracked lines of his lips as they shape his words. The listless body offered to Einar elicits craving and repulsion in him - he can smell the man's rank stench and see the jaundice in his eyes. But he can also feel the heat, the life, within him, see it coursing through his veins, hear it pumping through his heart...
Einar's eyes go back to Dragan's, and his contempt gives him the strength to resist his irrational urge to... to eat the sickly man offered to him.
"Ease my hunger - with that?" he rasps with a sneer, pushing past the unwholesome pair to fling open the door to the street. The rush of fresh air and the sharp smell of water wash some of the confusion from his mind.
What new madness has befallen me?
The startled door guard turns and gasps at the sight of the wild Northman, his hand fumbling to draw his weapon. Suddenly a rage wells up in Einar the likes of which he's never felt, even on the most desperate battlefield. He gives an animalistic snarl as he yanks the man off his feet and into the common room, traps his arms in a bear hug, and - by some inconceivable instinct - sinks his teeth into the hapless man's neck, drinking until his thirst is satisfied.

"While I can not say that I would be pleased to stay here with a treacherous soul such as Ambrogino, I understand the situation. That being said, I also feel that should we turn Yeti over to Ambrogino and require that he stay here, I would be threatened not only by Ambrogino's presence but also Yeti's as he would have no reason not to strike out at us."
Lorenzo thinks a bit more. "Perhaps the best solution, though still distasteful, would be to stake Yeti and leave him here for safe keeping while Ambrogino travels with you as I believe the original plan was."
Maria momentarily looks a tad lost as Criatas begins explaining the Traditions. However, she pays attention swiftly.
"The Covenant: You are my guide in this world, and I am to honour you as I would my father and mother."
"The Domain: the Prince is the ruler of the city, and I must seek him out if I am to remain in peace."
"The Progeny: I will not create another without leave from the Prince."
"The Accounting: If I create another, I am responsible for their actions as if they are my own children."

And at this, Adria brought up a crucial point.
"But that's the crux isn't it? Luca responds. "I didn't want ambitions. I wanted to keep my head down, provide for my family afar, and die with my craftsmanship found in every building of this town. An honest, cowardly living to protect the ones I love. I am just a newborn in this life, and if anyone ever discovers..."
He stops talking, the silence serving as the vast emptiness filled with every possible atrocity and horrible outcome Luca's mind could unravel.

As he leaves Onfroi asks where shall I meet you with these mortals? assuming he gets an answer Onfroi will make his way to the poorest part of town prior to the conclave and search invisibly out for a family as Alexander has directed.
If Onfroi can find them he will pay the family saying he is looking for servants and give them a place to meet him close by where he must bring them and for time set after conclave ends for the night

He is flattered by the praise, and does not doubt for a moment that his sire would indeed exterminate him if he were merely a fop who paid others to sing. Indeed, it settles something home for him regarding his clan. We are pride's creatures just as any other Clan. Can I say differently about myself? Probably not. Michele goes and gets a cup of wine and puts some of his blood in it and then comes back into the room with it.

after she settles in a bit I will go grab some paper and ink to write my father a letter.
Father, I could not write earlier as I had not the strength and I wanted my own hands to write this to you. After you sent me away on business I became separated from my hosts and fell ill with a terrible affliction. I am gaining strength daily and hope to make the trip back home soon. In the meantime bid my good wishes to mother and the rest of the family. I do hope all is going well as I long for our late night talks under the stars in the countryside. Those summer nights talking about about our ancestors and also the future has made me the man I am today. I laugh now remembering hiding in the olive groves until the morning to prove a point to you. Til I see you again.
