Anton Green |

Round 2, Init 5
Anton sneers at the fools that brought longswords to a longbow fight. It isn't a traditional weapon of his people, but he spent five years as a "special operative" in the Molthuni army, and so he appreciates how easy it is to load a bow: draw an arrow, nock it, and pull back. The martial halfling takes a couple of steps forward and does just that, burying a missile in the masked man directly in front of him.
FA: Strength of Personality on self (inspire courage on 1 person for 5 rounds)
NA: 5' step to -H/12
SA: Ranged attack with longbow at thug in B/12

Tragershen |

No one going to try and make the knowledge engineering check per above?
I tried and failed by one. I didn't think anyone else had that particular skill. Would you let them go untrained on it for this case?

A large Grizzly now stands before you!

Aedalis Omathi |

Aedalis was rather surprised at the appearance of the bear, but figured it was Nim's area of expertise. He focused on the newcomer who spoke to the Bear, clutching a piece of iron as he attempted to freeze him in place; but not before attempting to turn fate against him...
Use Misfortune Hex as a move action with Speed of Thought, DC19 negates. Cast Hold Person on bear-speaker as a standard action. DC18, Duration 5 rounds. I should have mentioned, but Misfortune will be Aedalis' Focused Hex.

Tragershen |

Round 3.
Tragershen calmly steps forward to get a better view of the whole scenario. Even as he advances, he is casting his next spell to help turn the tide of battle.
Tragershen will step to -M15 and cast Create Pit, centered at A-B 14-15. The pit is in A14, A15, B14 and B15. For those able, it is a Reflex DC 17 Reflex save to avoid falling in. For those adjacent to those squares, it is DC 15 to avoid falling in. Duration 5 rounds. It is 30' deep.
Seeing Anton as the foremost member of their side, Tragershen calls out "Anton, is there anything you can do to retard the blaze?"

Niɱ |

Nim and Wic now go at the end of the round...will fix on the next round summary.
I know, that is why I put init 4 :) and what is Anton (or anyone for that matter) going to do to the fire? :P

DM Stephen |

sorry for the delay, had a friend in for out of town then gaming night...no chance to make a larger update.
Aedalis tries to control the new man's mind...and have him freeze on the spot. He shakes his head and growls at you.

Reflex Save Umagro dc 15 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4) = 10
All three men fall into the pit, the new man curses in some language none of you can understand except for Nim. B14,15 A16 all fall in.
You hear some yells and grunts as they hit the ground.
The man curses in Druidic as he slipped in.
The last man above ground seems to falter a little as Anton's bow shifts and points directly at him...the bear doesn't seem to be bothered though.
Will update the map tonight when I have time.

Anton Green |

Round 3, Init 5
Anton snorts at the sudden appearance of the bear; he's seen the summoning trick before, and knows that the real danger is the spellcaster. He shuffles forward a couple of yards to get out from under the long arms of the grizzly, trusting his companions to take care of it. A pit opens under the remaining miscreants, leaving only one facing him directly; with a mental shrug, the halfling draws and nocks an arrow, pulls back the drawstring, and releases it in a single, smooth motion. Reaching back into his magical rucksack, Mr. Green pulls out a vial of alchemist's fire that he'd been saving for a rainy day.
NA: 5' step south to -G,12
SA: Ranged attack with longbow at foe in B,13

DM Stephen |

Nim lands several vicious blow on the bear but it still stands.

You hear some creaming from the pit but nothing else.

Tragershen |

While the elf is concerned by the spreading fire, he is not wanting to run past the deadly bear. Tragershen pauses for a mere moment to see if Nim's verocious alter ego is on the verge of putting down the beast to clear the way for him, or if he should summon more magic to help in the contest.
Delay until after Nim and Wic.

Figured I would miss something on my phone. :P
Back home now...
Reading things over again, I noticed that Corb has not taken any round 3 actions... and we are currently waiting on his round 4 actions.
Maybe he puts the bear down in round 3 before it hits Nim in round 4. :)

Anton Green |

Round 4, Init 5
Figuring that being on fire might distract someone from casting spells, Anton trots up to the pit and tosses the vial inside, hoping to hit the ursine man who commanded the bear.
MA: Move 30' to -B,14
SA: Throw alchemist's fire 10' at creature in A,15 (bless, inspire courage)
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 21
Fire damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Niɱ |

Given all that is going on... I will repost my round 4 actions dependant upon Corb's retconned round 3 and round 4 actions... and the results thereof.

DM Stephen |

The bear is still standing after your round 3 attacks but is dead after Corbrius' Round 4 action.
In order to see into the pit you will need to go to the edge and have to make the DC 15.
When you get to the edge of the pit, you see the 3 men...one is laying no the floor dead. The new man has blood on his hands or are they claws.

Niɱ |

Seeing as how there no other targets left... Nim and Wic will demolish the last wolf. I assume we can use my rolls above...

Tragershen |

Tragershen will double move to -B12 and start looking for anything that might be useful in dealing with the fire, either to douse or smother it.

DM Stephen |

The Alchemists flask hits the man with the clawed hands, burning him. He again growls at you, Foreign scum, there will be a time when you pay for that, sometime soon! But that time is not now.
The clawed man then changes into a dirt like creatures and walks into the side of the pit, disappearing.
The combat is effectively over. Now that the immediate threat is over other people start to assist you to put out the fire. Without a magical means to help put out the fire you find that most of the supplies and animals that were in the warehouse are destroyed or dead. The 4 guards at the warehouse are dead as well. The remaining arsonist who was is in the pit tries to flee but you can easliy capture or kill him. The other man who fell in is dead and the one who apparently summoned the Bear has disappeared.
There is no sign of Jask though...
Let me know how you want to deal wiht the last arsonist. If you capture him let me know what questions you would like to ask him. You have about a minute before Sargavan guards arrive.

Niɱ |

Wic nuzzles Aedalis' hand in thanks...
Nim remains in his current form and begins to search for Jask's scent...

Mihai Soarta |

As the threat has passed, Mihai sees that the last arsonist is captured rather than killed - so that he can be turned over to the authorities. As Nim begins to seek the scent he muses "Claws of a bear... perhaps." tapping finger to lips in thought.

Anton Green |

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Anton scowls at the captured arsonist and scours his memory for hints of what to ask. "Are you not proud of your group? Brag to us of who you are, what you would do, and the animal that leads you."
