Alcalde
|
Alcalde winces as he is clipped by a few of the smaller stones, but scrambles over the rest them to the top of the stairs. Rapier in hand, he lunges at the other bandit.
Rapier: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
whiff?
| DM rel20 |
The bandit remains just out of reach of Alcalde's swing who's too busy with Rowbin to notice. Regaining balance to place his next attack,
Bandit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
the spikes on the morning star drag across the surface of Rowbin's armor.

Rowbin moves up the stairs twitching in anticipation to bring his vengeance down upon the occupants but can't quite make it around the corner. Skorl/Nibb is up, but for timing I also added Alcalde and Rowbin as we wrap around to the next turn I believe. Zordlon feel free to interrupt at any time.

Rowbin, upon seeing the collapse of the first bandit, turns his attention and rapier to the other.
Rowbin will use his slayer ability as a move action to grant himself a +1 to attk/dmg, as well as +1 to bluff, knowledge, sense motive, as well +1 percetption and survival against the bandit.
Attk (MH), dmg: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Rowbin parries off the bandits attack and unloads with both rapiers!

Crap, whiff... and I think I may be reading my char sheet wrong, ruh roh.... 1H-P 1H-O doesn't mean two weapons, does it?. looks like I should be -2,-2 to my attacks from the reading on prd for two weapon fighting with a light weapon for an off hand. Sorry Rob, me thinks i been cheating

Alcalde strikes.. again!
To Hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Drat. Even the slightly better odds of my Stupid Whip Tricks wouldn't help...

Anxious to get in the battle, Reithic attempts to climb the side of the stairs to get an elevated attack in.
climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Climbing over the ledge, the bandit swings with his attack of opportunity, but fails to make a meaningful swing as he's hard pressed from the other two.
bandit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
With a devil-may-care gleam in his eye, Reithic swings his morningstar down at the bandit, but misses.

This is turning out to be one long stairway encounter. I guess that tends to happen in tight corners :(Assuming that Skorl/Nibb are still delaying, I'll have the bandit act.
1: Rowbin
2: Alcalde
3: Reithic
Victim: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Morningstar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Well, at least the dice are universally bad.
The bandit misjudges the tight corner that he's now in and the spikes on the morningstar catch on the walls around him as he desperately attempts to take the offensive.

Looking at the Heal skill, I think that Nibb can give us 2 HP of healing for overnight, then an additional 4 HP of healing for a full 24 hours of care. She can't care for herself, however. I'm pretty sure she'll need to make a second skill check in the morning to get the 24 hour care bonus. Even if she fails that check, Zordlon will be back to full without needing to resort to healing magic.

I think we all agreed to spend two nights holed up in the tower. Can we fast-forward to either the goblin attack or the morning after the second night, whichever comes first? We can lock the evil cleric lady (still unconscious and thoroughly bound) in the dungeon. With no weapons, spell components, or holy symbols, she shouldn't be much of a threat even if she wakes up and somehow gets loose.
FYI, looking at the rules for scrolls, it appears that deciphering the writing, either via read magic or a Spellcraft (not Linguistics) check, identifies the spell. Activating the spell is another matter, of course.

I suppose it's foolish to sleep without a watch when we know there are goblins about, even if we are in a tower with a barred door. Zordlon can take first watch.
Zordlon was going to prepare identify, but since nothing needs identification, he'll prepare magic missle and burning hands again (assuming we survive until morning).

Right, spells cast in the eight hours before preparation can't be refreshed. Well, I'm picking the same spells I had previously. So did we rest 24 hours successfully? Greg, did Nibb lay some extra healing on Rowbin?
