Bishop Fenwick
"Well it isn't a religious magical gem thingy, if that is what you are asking?"
I presume you want a higher spellcraft roll than what you did. :)
Bishop will cast detect magic and attempt to discern its properties.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
GM_Almonihah
Fenwick can tell that this is an artifact of great power. It weaves together magic of a number of schools in complex patterns beyond his understanding. Beyond that, he can tell only that it's been critically damaged in some way that's inhibiting its normal functioning.
GM_Almonihah
This seems like something that was made by a similar creator but for a different purpose, so no. At least, not without a lot more knowledge about the gates, like from that codex you're looking for.
GM_Almonihah
So is pressing on turning around and leaving and reporting to the Baron, or what?
GM_Almonihah
You make your way out of the darkness of the cave into the light of day, blinking against the sudden light. It hasn't taken you that long, so the sun is still fairly high in the sky.
Roll Perception checks

When you get back out to the quarry, you find four familiar faces waiting for you--the syaandi you killed before, who had somehow shown up at the alehouse.
Their leader steps forward, his smile unpleasant not just because of his species' lack of lips. "I'm thinking it's about time for a rematch. Should be fun, right?"
A slight sound draws the attention of everyone except Kit. Looking up, three of you notice the blond-feathered tengu from the alehouse up on the ledge of the top of the quarry.
Fenwick notices a much slighter motion to the other side. He sees the tengu's wayang companion on the other side of the group, just barely peeking over the ledge.
Kit init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Iskender init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Dakkar init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Fenwick init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Syaandi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Erlantu: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Kilik: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Shu: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
The Syaandi charge in and attack with their spears.
Spear vs. Dakkar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Spear vs. Kit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Spear vs. Kit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Crit confirm vs. Kit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
One nicks Kit on the forearm, but the others completely miss.
Their leader casts a spell, and Kit feels his muscles starting to seize up. Kit needs to make a DC 13 Will save or be held. He then closes in himself.
Dakkar and Iskender can move now.
Iskender
As a Standard action, Iskender will start his Bardsong for +2/+2
As a Swift action, Iskender issues a Marshal's Order to Advance. This should allow our heavies to get a full round of attacks on bad guys, since their move action is paid for by me.
As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to inspire a tactical advance on the field of battle. This allows you and each of your allies within 30 feet to take either a single move action of the character’s choice or a 5-foot step, as long as you or your ally has the ability to take such an action (for example, an unconscious character still can’t take an action). The action granted by this ability doesn’t count toward the number or type of actions a creature is allowed to take on its turn.
So get in there heroes!!
Iskender intends to end up 5' behind the front line, wherever that ends up being, so I'm between the bad guys and Bishop, but with our tanks ahead of me. Drawing my rifle as I move, and using my extra move action to draw my soundburst wand.
Bishop Fenwick
couldn't log in for 2 days...clear the cookies and cache and now I'm back
Bishop take Iskender's bonus move action to move up to the front line. "it looks like there is room for a 3 man front line"
GM_Almonihah
The site had issues, yes. Hopefully everyone can get back on now.
Dakkar.
Blegh, finally just logged on using a different browser
Dakkar uses the quick move to step right up to the leader.
"Why not? You didn't taste too bad last time, and I'm hungry. If you're stupid enough to come back to something that ate you last time you poked it, it's your loss."
He then flies into a frenzy and attempts to tear the irritating enemy that doesn't know how to stay dead to bits again.
Bite: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 35
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
RAARGH BITE: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 31
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Claw: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Tail: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Will if kill: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Kit 'Skylark' Bridger
When it is his turn, Kit will attack the one who nicked him...
Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage 1: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage 2: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Bishop Fenwick
Now we see why giving a move action to move the heavies into position is so awesome! It basically gives them all "pounce!"
but didn't we all just 5' step and full attack? :)
GM_Almonihah
Kit shakes off the attempt at paralysis while Dakkar tears into the syaandi leader, grievously wounding but not killing him.
The tengu above sings a spell, and Dakkar feels a strange sensation bubbling up in him. Dakkar needs to make a Will save
Crossbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
At the same time, a crossbow bolt glances off his scales as the wayang pops up and fires at him. Kit then gets a solid hit in on the syaandi who struck him.
Fenwick is up
Bishop Fenwick
spellcraft to id spell: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Bishop will offer hopefully a killing blow onto the leader Dakkar just mauled.
to hit with regular old +1 longsword: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
GM_Almonihah
Fenwick's blow is, indeed, enough to cause the syaandi leader to fall. Doing so attracts the attention of the others, who all focus their attacks on him.
Spear vs. Fenwick: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Spear vs. Fenwick: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Spear vs. Fenwick: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Only one is able to injure him.
Dakkar and Iskender are up, though Dakkar needs to make a Will save first.
Iskender
Iskender also attempts to identify the spell being cast...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Iskender will cast glitterdust on the 3 bad guys at the entrance, and I believe he can do that while missing his allies.
DC 15 or be blinded.
Don't forget your +2/+2 and the +2 to Will saves vs charm and fear!
GM_Almonihah
Well that's plenty good. Neither Iskender nor Fenwick know what the spell was, though.
Dakkar.
Angrily resisting whatever magics were attempted on him, Dakkar does what Dakkar usually does, with vigor and violence.
Finish off leader first, then other adjacent enemy
BITE: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 11
BITE: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 13
CLAW: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 13
CLAW: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 26
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 16
TAIL: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 34
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 11
Will if kill: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14
He then most likely flies into a berserk rage that will be directed at the nearest moving thing, with a vicious howl and bloodthirsty roar.
GM_Almonihah
Dakkar takes down two of the adjacent syaandi, which unforutnately leaves his allies as the things nearest to him.
Will: 1d20 ⇒ 20
The remaining one is not blinded by the glittering dust.
The tengu starts to sing a raucous song, while the wayang fires down on Iskender.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 34
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 31
Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (6, 3) + 8 = 17
The bolt sinks straight into Iskender's shoulder.
GM_Almonihah
The map is up-to-date. There's one syaandi left.
Dakkar.
You all might want to consider that being adjacent to Dakkar this round is liable to range from extremely painful to outright fatal, and adjust accordingly.
Oh, wait, just saw that everyone backed up. Intelligent move.
