HP 25/150; Init +0; AC 21, T 10, FF 21; CMD 25; F+132, R+9, W+9; Perc +9

Krojun continues inspiring courage (+2) and strikes twice more! Axe: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 2 = 24 for 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11 and 1d6 ⇒ 4 electrical damage and Axe: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 = 30 for 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7 and 1d6 ⇒ 1 electrical damage.

Axe Confirm Crit?: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 = 30 for 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (7, 2) + 8 = 17 additional damage.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

I forgot inspire courage. That should be +2 to everything. Feral, did you notice my post? If Pirknok nearly took his head off, I imagine I'd have finished him ... ?

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

I also forgot inspire courage.

Oops. I completely missed Jess's post.

Bolstered by Krojun's song, Jessamy messily finishes off the seemingly unstoppable kobold.

Encounter over.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Oh, also Pirknok took 14 damage... and Ensu took 14 damage. Sowwy Ensu.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

"Stupid thing," Jessamy says, kicking the corpse. "We didn't even want to kill it."

She looks around, trying to see what this thing's lair had.

"Maybe this is a good place to stay and rest the rest of the night, then we can see if it'll get us into the fortress?"

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

Ensu stumbles back out into the open and you can see several nasty wounds on his body.

HP 14/79

He weakly says, "Gather around you wounded." When the group is gathered up, he raises his holy symbol and one after another you feel healing energy flow over you.

Channel: 6d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 6, 2, 6) + 1 = 28
Channel: 6d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 6, 6, 3) + 1 = 27

HP 69/79 Anyone need more healing?

Dorfy is healeded and happy.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

"Thanks, Ensu. That feels much better!"

Perception (+3 vs. traps) that I forgot earlier: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

There's little among the kobold's lair that appears to be of value or interest but some of the little guard's equipment looks to be enchanted.

Small +3 shortspear and small +2 breastplate.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

OK, I recommend we set up a guard and spend the night here, since at this point I assume it's after midnight, then get going again in the morning.

Sounds like a good idea. Should I alter my spell loadout or stick with the one I've got?

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Up to you. Anything you aren't consistently using or expecting to need?

Dorf will take first watch.

???: 1d100 ⇒ 37

Though it's impossible to tell without any sort of sunlight, the party manages to rest through the night without encountering any additional guardians - kobolds or otherwise.

Wills: 5d20 ⇒ (16, 16, 17, 2, 2) = 53

The heroes are less fortunate in the realm of dreams and both Pirknok and Siolad suffer as they try to recover their strength. The elf in particular seems to have earned Mokmurian's wrath.

Are you closer little elf? Please tell me it is so. It delights me to think we might meet in the flesh soon...

Both take 1d10 ⇒ 6 damage, are fatigued, and cannot prepare spells.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Pirknok wakes up grumbling, growling and generally in a foul mood. "I'm gonna ring his puny little neck..." he mutters, rolling up his blankets with a deep scowl on his features. "I'll show him the meanin' of 'sleep'... ya just don't DO that! I mean, it's wun thing ta fight somebody fair an' square, but ya just don't go messin' with people's minds in their sleep!"

Telekinetic Fist: 8/8|Male Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 12|HP: 50/55|AC: 13/13/10|Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +8|Init: +5|Perc: +2

Well, I suppose that answers my question...

Siolad is in an even worse mood than Pirknok, if that's possible.

"Especially when doing so interferes with your ability to function. In my case, magic-wise." He grumbles. "He's smart, I'll give him that."

At least my Stoneskin spell is still active. There's THAT if nothing else.

Stoneskin 10 min/level and it's been around 8 hours...

Telekinetic Fist: 8/8|Male Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 12|HP: 50/55|AC: 13/13/10|Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +8|Init: +5|Perc: +2

Even extended?

20 min/level, 11th level... actually, that works. Oops.

And Siolad's Stoneskin promptly winks out of existence. "Oh... this isn't going to end well."

220 minutes is less than four hours. Fortunately that bed bug that tried to bite you in the middle of the night was foiled!

Telekinetic Fist: 8/8|Male Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 12|HP: 50/55|AC: 13/13/10|Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +8|Init: +5|Perc: +2

In fact, that's probably what broke my Stoneskin. Persistent little bugger.

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

I can't find a spell that will help with the sleepless night thing, I can get spells that might help with the fatigued part, I think.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Yus, please halp with sleeplessness. Dorf is vurry tired, and can't get angries when tarred.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

Jessamy yawns widely as she stretches as she wakes up.

"Well, hopefully he's having nightmares too, 'bout what we're gonna do to him when we find him. You'd think he'd just come fight us or something," she says.

"But if he knows we're coming, maybe we should get moving. Siolad, just stay in the back, I guess, and me an' Pirknok'll protect you."

HP 25/150; Init +0; AC 21, T 10, FF 21; CMD 25; F+132, R+9, W+9; Perc +9

"This fiends knows we are here? What should we expect from him?"

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

Okay my options are use lessor restoration to remove the fatigue, or the heal spell. Nothing I have, since we are still in the Nap Stack cooldown, can remove the sleeplessness. If we have a bard with invigorate, we might be able to temp remove the fatigue that way. Does the wizard retain any spells prepped and not used from yesterday?

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Lesser restoration, unless Krojun has invigorate... Heal is too good to use on just fatigue. :)

HP 25/150; Init +0; AC 21, T 10, FF 21; CMD 25; F+132, R+9, W+9; Perc +9

Alas, I do not. I can inspire the tar outta ya, but I can't wake you up to save your life.

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

Well I have 3 scrolls of lessor restoration handy.

Stop talking and use one! Slackerer!

I can still shapeshift as well, so I won't be COMPLETELY helpless.

Only MOSTLY so. There's a big difference.

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

Ensu pulls a scroll out of his haversack and reads it aloud and then points at Pirknok. Poor Pirknok turns into a newt....oh wait wrong scroll Priknok looks less tired.

Casting Lessor Restoration

Does Siolad need one too?

Telekinetic Fist: 8/8|Male Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 12|HP: 50/55|AC: 13/13/10|Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +8|Init: +5|Perc: +2

Where to next?

There’s two visible exits from this cavern. The kobold came from the eastern one.

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

"Let's go east. It's probably not the right way if that's where the stupid wyvern came from, but we can make sure there's nothing else there."

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Male Gnome Cleric 12 | HP 86/86 | AC 19 | T 11 | FF 19 | CMD 16 | Fort +12 | Ref +7 | Will +17 | Init +4 | Perc +6 | Sense Motive +20

Ensu reads another scroll and points at Siolad and he looks less fatigued.

East

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Oops, I missed the de-fatiguing of the dorf.

"Thanks," says Pirknok after Ensu recites his scroll. A moment later he grins. "It don't make up fer it, but at least now maybe I kin stay awake long enuff ta kill him."

Did we get healed up before resting?

Yeah. Ensu had plenty of channels. Assume you were healed to full.

Venturing east down the passage the party quickly comes to a tee. The passage seems to continue much further east but from the south an eye-wateringly foul stench wafts.

Which way?

HP 93/93, AC 26/17/26, F +6, R +13 (+3 vs. traps), W +5, Init +9, Per +15 Feral Rogue 12

"Should we see what's dowd dere?" Jessamy asks, obviously trying very hard not to breathe through her nose.

I say let's go south and clean that out; I don't like leaving stuff behind me.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Yeah, let's do it.

Pirknok just nods, gritting his teeth.

HP 25/150; Init +0; AC 21, T 10, FF 21; CMD 25; F+132, R+9, W+9; Perc +9

South is good!

Krojun tightens his grip on his axe against the foul smell.

Telekinetic Fist: 8/8|Male Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 12|HP: 50/55|AC: 13/13/10|Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +8|Init: +5|Perc: +2

Siolad buries his nose in the sleeve of his robes and grumbles.

"Mmmhmm."

South it is then.

As the party gets closer to the source the specifics of the stink become clearer and the area ahead reeks of vinegar, rotting hair, and worse. Soon the heroes come upon a large working space. A single large stone basin sits in the middle of the room, about ten feet square and filled with foul looking fluid upon which float patches of wet fur. Around the basin stand a dozen wooden frames over which leather and hides are stretched. At the far end of the cave, a stinking mound of hides and furs awaits tanning.

Three ogres appear to be hard at work when the party enters. Hearing the sound of intruders they drop what they're holding and turn to attack!

Ensu: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Siolad: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Ensu and Jess are up.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 12 [ HP 62/185* (0 NL) | AC 28 Tch 13 FF N/A (23) | Fort +18* Ref +10* Will +10* | CMD 33* | Init +4 Perc +15 | Effects: rage, 2 negative levels ]

Ensu holds his holy symbol and chants a prayer.

Blessing of Fervor

The ogre shanked by Jessamy gurgles in pain and rage. He yanks the dagger from his neck and hurls it to the ground before tipping the vat of caustic fluid into the center of the room. The powerful stink filling the air triples in an instant threatening to overwhelm the heroes's sense. The other brutes grab nearby clubs and turn to attack.
