oh I should have checked this thread earlier; I wondered why there were no posts going on. I'm disappointed to hear all this :/

One of my DMs is running too many games so I didn't have the heart to ask. The other I'm asked on Sunday and got no reply yet.

I think it's time we started a looking for GM thread.

Scratch that last post just got a reply from the GM I pm'd and he's inquiring further. I will let you know if anything changes.

Hi, everybody. I'm the GM Wolfgang/Karl Sarvo contacted. He's in a Curse of the Crimson Throne game I took over from another GM who disappeared.

I've read through the gameplay thread. I have a copy of Rise of the Runelords (both in original 3.5 stats and the 10-year anniversary PF version). I could take over if you would like. My style is quite a bit different from DM DoctorEvil's though. I generally don't narrate what a PC is doing or feeling to frame scenes as he has done. I'm more likely to describe the situation and setting, call out details, but leave any feelings or plans to you guys. I thought you've all been responding to his style pretty well, so I'm highlighting that difference so you know a bit more of what you'd be getting with me if you agree with me comign on board.

I also have a vacation coming up in a couple of weeks. It'll be spring break and we're taking the kids to DisneyWorld/Epcot/blah blah blah. My posting at that time may be spotty (3/26-4/2).

As you well know I am very fine with your style, other wise I wouldn't have asked you to consider taking over.

I haven't traveled in a while, do try to enjoy yourself as much as possible. It's always refreshing to see different sights.

Glad you're interested, Bill Dunn! This is an interesting group, and I feel we have tied strong intercharacter bonds already.

I've seen you around these boards for quite some time. Don't know you but I've seen the alias pop up now and again over the years.

And I'll second DW on your style of DMing... whatever you wanna roll with works for me. It's all good.

And have a great trip, bud! There's a buddy of mine that just flat out loves DisneyWorld. I've never been myself but I hear it's fantastic.

I'll give other players a chance to chime in before I submit a request to transfer game ownership. I'm re-reading my copy of RotRL now...

I made some changes to my character before you took over and after DocEvil left the game, mostly because I thought we were not going to continue the game, but then I saw that there was interest to continue. Is it alright if I keep the changes I made to Karl? Besides liking him better now than I did prior to the changes, he'd also be far more useful as a frontliner.

Prior to changes:

1st Level Feat: Combat Expertise

Focused Study Level 01 Skill Focus(Bluff)

Favored Class Bonus: HP

Traits: Bully, Dirty Fighter

Items: Same as the current list with the addition of Studded Leather Armor, Quick Draw Light Steel Shield, and excluding Scale Mail Armor and the Halberd.

I'm willing to allow other people rebuilds during 1st level as they feel out their characters. Not every character works as well in play as we envision.

Weird. These threads suddenly dropped off my My Campaigns tab, though I'm still listed as GM. Anybody else seeing weird behavior?

Although, in all my years I've been playing this game, these are the most insane rolls I've ever rolled in my life. Whether in a real life game or pbp.

Ever since then, it's been the normal, crappy rolls as usual. I'm just glad I didn't cause a global meltdown. :P

You know...seeing those rolls actually made me feel better. Sad to know that the RNG has been hating you since then.

I know DM Dr Evil was giving out XPs. Do you want me to continue doing so, or would you prefer I just tell you to level-up at appropriate times in the AP?

I'd prefer if you'd just tell us. To me, it just seems far simpler.

Meanwhile, under Karl's stern interrogation, multiple goblins speak up, all talking over each other, to answer his question why they attacked the town. "Food. Loot. Burning. Food. Dead dogs, huh huh. Food. Shiny. Silver. Humans is jerks. You is jerk. No, you is jerk!" and though shackled, they jostle with each other in a quarrelsome manner, each trying to make sure his answer is the one Karl is listening to. The one most under Karl's blade, however, shouts over the others, "Shut up!"

Unfortunately it seems I too am going to bow out of this campaign. Work has become so overwhelming, I barely make it on here to post and it's not fair to delay the game in that way. Best of luck!

Well, folks, I'm thinking this one might have run out of steam.

Six players down to three - that is a bit of a surprise. If you remaining three want to continue, I could open a recruiting thread to try to pick up maybe 2 more players for a 5 PC party.
I know one PF player in realspace who might be interested in playing (depending on how much he knows of the story).

I'll confess, I was a bit curious on that myself. Burnout would be my guess. I went down that road a couple years ago. It's a tough position to be in.
