Divdesmit smashes the creature hard in the back, shattering some bones and bringing it down to a terrible condition, however it is fighting on.
Nigari lashes out with her attack, smashing the creature with her fist and knocking out so hard in the gut, the wounds caused earlier burst open as it falls into a pile of gore and guts.

"Janira!" The hunter yells as he runs to her and drops to his knees by her side. His form keeps changing as he searches, in vain, for an ability to help her. But, alas, he cannot reverse death.
Then, remembering that Essua's not doing very well, he rushes over to the fighter: Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 (Yahtzee! There ya go, Essua!)
Once he is certain that his companions are no longer in danger, he notes everything that happened in his Pathfinder Journal.
Addressing the others, he asks: "There were other tunnels in there that we did not search. Should we go back and explore further? Or shall we return to Absalom with the body of our friend now?"
/Amelia Rose/
|
Amelia rises from her failed attempt to help Janira, shaking her head with sadness. Then, seeing Essua starting to come around, she offers him one of her potions of clw. "I think we should go back and finish helping the Gillman. He could still be in danger."

Essua Day
|
There was darkness, and then there was whistling. A sustained, piercing whistle, like a tea kettle. That's what first got Essua Day's attention. But there wasn't a tea kettle. There was only the ground, and the taste of iron in his mouth. He worked his mouth, trying to get a feel for why it was so dry and sticky.
The whistle built up into pressure on his temples as he realized the sound of the kettle was coming from his own head. And then the word "Janira."
Essua Day's eyes pop open, and he sees the blue sky above him take shape. The sun is warm, it feels good on his arms and on his belly. He notices that his tunic is wet, and sticky. He sits up carefully and delicately. He sees Dividsmit watching and nods appreciatively.
At his feet is a dead minotaur. He sees his friends arrayed around the battle field. He sees a couple of them surrounding the body of Janira the pathfinder. He sees the sad look in Amelia Rose's face when he looks up from Janira's body to her face.
"Just like daddy's shop," he croaks.
He stands carefully, unsure of his feet at first, but he quickly gets his legs back. He picks up his weapon, and walks over to Amelia and Janira. Amelia hands him a vial and he takes it, and downs it gratefully.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
"She's gone, huh?" he says. He unbundles a little packet of herbs from his belt, and places some at key points on Janira's body. "It may be too late, but we honor her spirit by offering her corpse these herbs anyway," he says.
heal check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
"All is as it must be, I guess," he says. "I vote we finish helping the Gillman."
After we check the Minotaur for loot, obviously.
Nigari
|
Nigari walked over to Janira's body, the tall Nagaji kneeling down next to her. "We need to bring her body back with us. It would not be right for us to leave her here!" She looks up, "I can carry her back... It will not prevent my ability to defend myself if we run into anything else!"
She very carefully picks up Janira's body, carrying her in her arms as she starts to follow after Div and Amelia, looking back at the others. "One of you should check him out..." she nods her head to the minotaur, "He might be carrying something that will assist us."
| DM Aron Marczylo |
All you find on the Minotaur is the broken large sized battleaxe and 3 javelins, also large sized.
Janira was carrying a masterwork whip, masterwork chain shirt and a light crossbow. It's all small sized as she's a halfling.

Anyone want to heal up Abaal before continuing on?
You arrive back down the cave. The gillman remains in his deep meditation in the room, taking his time. He doesn't respond to your return.
/Amelia Rose/

Amelia turns towards the last room, and waits for everyone to gather. Peering down the tunnel, she says "Div, you probably have the best eyesight here with your.. umm.. shape changing.. What do you see?"

Essua Day
|
Essua Day had followed the party along since the Minotaur fight but had been most inside his own head for the bulk of the march. With Dividesmit's whisper, his attention snaps back to the here and now.
"Wassat?" he whispers. "This is the abominations right?"
He tucks himself into a nook in the cavern right behind Dividesmit and draws his Rapier.

Then he drops his keys, which clatter across the cave floor.

1 down and 1 heavily wounded. This'll be interesting.
Divdesmit can see on closer inspection that the body appears to be a Dhampire and he has a longsword on him.

Nigari quickly moves towards the moving bodies, seeing the one still standing next to Abaal, so moves in, and sends a spinning kick at it, trying to kick it firmly in the chest with her full strength.

| DM Aron Marczylo |
With Abaal's strike, he destroys the final undead creature.
The Dhampire also had a journal attached to him about how he was going to raise a army of the undead from the "fish people" and march on Absolam, however clearly something had gone wrong with the ceremony and all the undead turned on him, from the many different bite and claw marks from these creatures.
Nigari
|
Nigari gently arranges Janira body again after rearranging the backpacks she carried again, making sure that she was still in a place to defend herself, even with the halfling's body in her arms. She stepped back, looking at the now un-undead bodies laying around, "Would you all be kind enough to check to make sure to abominations weren't carrying anything we should return to the gillman up front? If they were carry anything important to their race, I'm sure he would appreciate it's return..."
| DM Aron Marczylo |
If you want we can end the adveture here and I'll wrap it up for you?

With a final sweep of the place for any dust mites or wandering zombies, I suggest we collect our fallen guide and report to the gillman.
Essua Day
|
Essua Day was not in his right head for several days following his adventure in the cave. He found himself tucked into a room at a pathfinder lodge writing out a long letter to his sister. The more he wrote the more he realized it was time he returned home and told the story's of his first adventure to his family in person.
The deserved to know the ways that they had helped prepare him for his life as a Pathfinder. They deserved that much.
And next time, when he sets out for his next adventure, he sets out in honor of his family, not in spite of them.
This was my first ever play by post and only my second Pathfinder campaign. I hope you enjoyed learning about Essua. I know I sure did. I had thought out a lot of the backstory, but most of the execution of it came out of the story as it unfolded-- I was pleasantly surprised with the way the Minotaur tucked neatly into Essuas backstory. Thank you all for the incredible experience.

I am glad that you enjoyed it, Essua, and welcome aboard! I have only been playing for 2 years, but I have really enjoyed it. There are some odd ducks here on the boards, but most of the time that just adds to the experience. You seem to have a good handle on Essua.. Keep developing that, and dont forget to have fun! Hope to see you around the boards!
