Also, with flash forward and greater beast totem, Kalem has a new trick. It costs a lvl 4 spell slot, but it's nasty.

(3) Spend a lvl 4 spell slot and teleport back to where he started

Pretty excited to get mighty swing. With a 19-20 crit range, a critical hit isn't impossible. But with x4, it hurts when it doesn't confirm.

It sounds like we're in agreement to rest and move out quickly. I guess this is our last opportunity to buy anything. Do we have some funds to distribute?

In particular, we may want to look at some scrolls for high-level healing and debuff removal. I can probably activate any scroll, but we don't really have a healer with our cleric out.

Apparently I missed a feat last level, so going to take a thematic one to go with the growth, and we're going to say that she is actually changing to become more angelic:

Angelic Blood: "You gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against effects with the evil descriptor and on Constitution checks to stabilize when you are reduced to negative hit points (but not dead). Furthermore, each time you take bleed or blood drain damage, each undead creature or creature with the evil subtype that is currently adjacent to you also takes 1 point of damage."

(Mostly blah blah blah, not really thinking I am going to use it often, but storywise it is cool, and if she goes up any additional levels later, she can take other angelic feats that have that as a prerequisite, like growing angel wings.)

(Taking +1 Con as my level 16 stat boost, which is an odd number, so it has no effect *except* that it qualifies me for that feat, so part of the whole bulking up and becoming more angelic idea.)

Arcane Archer level 8 grants this ability:

For the 5th level spell, I'm undecided as well... maybe Deafening Song Bolt... however, if we are in need of healing, I could take Mass Cure Light Wounds instead. Any thoughts?

My apologies--it wasn't meant to be presumptuous. My post was mainly to ask what we might want to buy before we go in, and whether we had time to do it.

I think you had volunteered to do the loot log very early in the campaign, and you've done a tremendous job. I'm sure we are all grateful for your service in this area, and if it's wearing on you let us know and I'm sure someone else can carry it to the end.

Alter self: yes, you change to Small or Medium size. You cannot change to a Large humanoid even if that's your natural size.

With disguise self though (and the hat), you can only simulate a creature of your actual size (actually technically only other outsiders).

@Zamanda: Mass Cure Light is probably too small of a heal at this point, but if might be a good backup for emergencies. I think we're pretty OK on the damage front, so I'm not sure what the best option would be. Maybe something good for controlling multiple foes? Though it looks like Ilsa's got that one down pretty well.

@Everyone: Loot values are updated, though the mystery items are still to be determined. Looks like at least 23k each, maybe up to 30k, after we sell stuff. That staff of evocation was a really big bump.

I don't see the collection of harrow decks on there... I believe that I said I packed those up before we left, though I could be wrong... and not sure how easy it would be to sell all of those, but I don't think that would be considered a Korvosan treasure or something we aren't free to take, so added it to the sheet. I'll have to look back through the posts to see if a value was posted though.

... okay, confirmed that I said I was taking the whole collection, and found an appraise spoiler that I missed at the time saying the collection was worth 2,000 gold. Not a lot, but I guess every little thing counts. (And not a lot if Ilsa or someone else wants to keep it.)

Oh, also realized that I don't need to buy new large sized clothing. I took the Rod of Splendor just for the Charisma boost, but in reading more about it, it dresses you up in 10,000 gold outfits every day.

Also, once a week it creates a giant tent with furnishings and an amazing feast for up to 100 people... so if we have time, we could have a really nice party before we leave.

So I did some digging and found we had spoilers from Rutseg for the items we hadn't identified. So thanks to those successful checks from Ilsa and Zamanda, I've filled values for those items in. A bunch of high value sawtooth sabres that we definitely don't need. And a belt and headband with +4 bonuses that I think aren't a significant upgrade for folks. There was also a ring of invisibility that I failed to put in the log.

All told, that brings our sale total to ~40k gp for anyone who hasn't claimed anything. I'll give you guys a last chance tonight to grab stuff and then finalize the numbers and clear out the log (maybe for the last time?) :D

I've kept a hold of a few scrolls as a group resource (including a greater teleport!).

Given you have a map, teleport is possible (with a mild rate of failure), but I think no one in the party has that spell.

OK! Sales are done. Everything's been moved to history, and our few useful scrolls have been added to group resources. Keep in mind that we have two stoneskin scrolls. We should use those during what we think is the final dive into Ileosa's lair.

Bumping my bow up to +5. I thought about putting "holy" on the bow rather than straight enchantment bonus, but theoretically *next* level arcane archer adds aligned arrows in addition to the elemental burst already on them, so it would be a waste (if we were ever going to continue), so you know, playing it this way for Zamanda's future even though she doesn't really have one.

Also, bumping up my dex belt to +6, which doesn't make up entirely for the Dex I lost, but definitely helps. (Sold my back up bow, etc., so this isn't all coming out of what we just got.)

Finally got the post in. Shorter than what I wanted but it was made via phone, using my chin to hold a baby bottle. So it worked out.

Added +1 to ring of protection and nimble to breastplate (+5 AC, +5 max dex, -3 ACP). With enchantment and comfort it is now -1 ACP. 5415 gold left for post campaign

I was running on a state of things where Ilsa was hit by tentacles and grabbed requiring three Concentration rolls to complete her spell, one of them at DC 53 and another DC 69, when I realized dominate monster is not in the mesmerist spell list.

After some search through Ilsa's character sheet, I came to believe what she wanted to cast was charm monster instead, which can be done with a single standard action.

The monster did not use a targeted dispel at the boots, he was just using an area dispel (from the greater dispel magic). So only effects currently working were targeted.

The boots of levitation, using a word of command (standard action), "allow the wearer to levitate as if she had cast levitate on herself". As the CL is smaller than the dispel CL check, and other higher level spells on Zamanda could not be dispelled, the levitate effect on her was the first spell that could be dispelled.

Now, as the boots do not cite any daily limitation, it is my understanding you can just issue the command again and make yourself levitate as if having cast levitate on yourself.

The 1d4 magic inactivation is for when you target a magical item with a dispel, but this was an area dispel, and "Magic items are not affected by an area dispel." only creatures are affected, as the boots cite its powers to work as if the wearer had cast levitate on herself, then it is my understanding the levitate effect is in Zamanda, it is dispelled, but the boots are fully functional and can be just used again.

Thanks to tireless bloodrage Kalem can now rage cycle. Meaning that each round he can have a new bloodrage. So each round, he has 1 re-roll on will saves and can automatically confirm 1 critical hit.*

* I completely forgot that I could confirm 1 critical hit. Meaning that the two failed confirms last fight could have went through (maybe, they had some resistance). Ah well...it's on me to remember. :P


Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Any new daily resources you gain on the level up will be readily available. If you gain new spell slots, you can automatically prepare a spell on them. Any extra hp is directly gained to your current hp.

Resources already spent for today remain spent though.

holy cats, we get to level again? wow. :) I think I actually get to apply "holy" to all my attacks now with this level of arcane archer.

however... this is my second day of a two-week vacation, and I don't have a lot of computer time worked in. Just trying to get posting in before sleeping. I'll try to level up in the morning before heading out, but fair warning, might not get to it. Please feel free to move on with me at the current level if we need to.

This is actually easier than I thought, since this level is a non-spell level for Arcane Archer, so no new magic.

Zamanda (Bard 8, Arcane Archer 9)

HP increase: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

New enhancement bonus for arrows:

"At 9th level, every non-magical arrow fired by an arcane archer gains one of the following aligned weapon qualities: anarchic, axiomatic, holy, or unholy. The arcane archer cannot choose an ability that is the opposite of his alignment (for example, a lawful good arcane archer could not choose anarchic or unholy as his weapon quality)."

(I'm choosing the Holy weapon quality as my default.)

Skill ranks (7): Climb (2), Spellcraft, Disable Device, Acrobatics (3)

Feat: Angel Wings (Aasimar-only feat) [Feathered wings sprout from your back. Benefit: You gain a pair of gleaming feathered wings that grant a fly speed of 30 feet (average maneuverability) if wearing light armor or unencumbered, or 20 feet (poor maneuverability) with a medium or heavy load or medium or heavy armor. Fly is a class skill for you.]

This is great... she gets holy weapon damage and finally gets wings, completing her recent radical transformation into an obviously angelic being (or as close as she can get). Now she looks like she grew into an angel rather than just being awkwardly tall normal Zamanda, plus long-term redemption story COMPLETE! :)

One thing to note is that Bashiel's Angelic Bond now grants protection from evil whose deflection and resistance bonuses are +7.
