"Oh my! Luck you where here Quinn! I would have never spotted that. You have an eagle eye! I understand know why the girls at town were always saying they wanted you to give them an eye." Samuel casts a detect magic spell and tries to get us much information as possible.

Quinn kneels next to the pressure plate and starts working with his tools. A moment later there's an audible click, then the statues rush forwards the bearings in the wheels growling.

Bullrush!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 Aww :(

Somehow Quinn reacts so fast that he's able to get out of the way and not be pushed back or knocked off the bridge. After a few seconds the trap starts to rewind its self "Click, click, click, click, click. " The statues move back to their positions automatically ready to rush forwards again.

"By the gods that was close."
Quinn loosens his coil of rope from his pack, ties one end around his waist and throws the coil back towards the others.
"Here, hold this for me, or tie it off somewhere."

Then he sets about working against the trap again.

Again the statues roll forward as Quinn accidentally trips the pressure plates.

Quinn is pushed backwards but manages not to fall from the bridge. Again the trap rewinds itself pulling the statues back in to place in front of the doors.

You study the statues with detect magic. They appear to be completely mundane. Working with mechanical cogs, springs and chains that run under the floor maybe? The statues depict men wearing villager's clothing that is contemporary with Kassen's time. They must have been placed here to protect Kassen's remains from grave robbers.

"Ah! I am not that kind of gymnastics guy!" yet the wizard tries to follow Quinn's orders and run on the statues retreat to pass them by.

Glad the group didn't have to stop for the night, Brayken drinks some of the water and then fills his water from the fountain. The normally boisterous man stays oddly silent arround the bats, eyeing themnervously the whole time...

After watching the humorous attempts of the "locksmith," Brayken heads across the bridge while wrapping the head of his glaive with a thick piece of cloth. He then reaches out with the rear of the weapon and holds down the plate.

Faunra takes a small sip from the fountain before filling her waterskin with it. She seemed unconcerned about the bats, being nature's creatures after all, unlike those ghastly skeletons. In the room with the statues, things began to take a nasty turn. It sends her adrenaline pumping again.

"Gods I hope what they say about the famous elven agility is true!" Faunra says as she runs past the statues, nearly tripping on her feet as she does so. "Brayken, be careful with that, it's not a toy!" she says as if almost scolding him.

Everyone hoofs it across the bridge right behind the retreating statues while Braken holds down the pressure plate. Unfortunately Braken glaive handle slips as he goes to follow and the statues move forward once more...

Brayken is pushed back by the statues but manages to get to the other side of the bridge as they are winched back.

When Quinn begins inspecting the brass doors for traps they swing open at his lightest touch on silent hinges to reveal a vast crypt. The only light emanates from a torch mounted above the crypt, flickering with a pale golden fire. Tall pillars march across the chamber, ending at a dais on the far side, on which is set a large stone sarcophagus. A single form rests beside the coffin, that of a comely woman in tattered clothing. She appears to be asleep or unconscious.

Venedictos suppresses his urge to rush to the young woman's aid, and looks about the room for signs of danger.

Faunra draws her greatsword and moves up to defend Quinn from the big boss (presumably) skeleton thing. "That....thing is the cause of all this? Is that what you're saying Mr. Wizard?" With a grunt she swings for the creature's head.

I think Brayken will get the best use of it. Faunra has undead as favoured enemy and does a stack of damage, and Quinn has a club (a femur picked up previously in the dungeon here). I now just need to get Quinn into a flanking position to roll the sneak attack damage as well...

Brayken, cheered by the mmage's spell, borrows his club before Samuel can finish his spell. The fighter then grins as he moves up behind his two companions before dropping off the side of the stairs. "Bah, fate I stopped believing in that stupid nonsense years ago..."

"Come and get me, Boney." Quinn spits at the tallest skeleton (M3) and confidently (5' step) backs up onto the stairs (L3), whilst drawing the large femur he retrieved earlier to use as a club.

Total Defense:

dodge bonus to your AC for 1 round. Your AC improves at
the start of this action. You can't combine total defense with
fighting defensively or with the benefit of the Combat
Expertise feat. You can't make attacks of opportunity while
using total defense.

He growls and attacks Faunra from his back swinging his Longsword at her legs.

Quinn leaps down off the stairs then swings his club at the skeletons weak L5 vertebrae :D smashing the skeleton in half with his femur club. The two halves of the skeleton crumble to the ground.

Brayken smashes his skeleton into a pile of bones clattering against the nearby wall and then onto the floor.

Faunra smashes her sword through her skeleton from shoulder to hip. The two halves fall helplessly to the stone floor.

The crypt falls silent except for the shallow breathing of the woman lying in front of the open sarcophagus.

Sighing over how quickly the fight was over, Brayken hands Samuel's club back up to him. "Here you go, it was useful bit I think I'll stick to Glaive. I know how to use her better."

Giving the room another look over, he heads to the woman, and not ungently picks her up. He then takes out the water canteen he filled from the fountain, props her mouth open and pours it over her face. Done 'saving' the woman he carries her to Faunra, giving the water-soaked woman to his commanding officer.

"Well, I've done all I can for her. Now it's your turn. Have fun"

He then heads off to start streching, trying to hide his impish smile.

The woman stirs as Ven tends to her wounds. " No, no more questions " she says weakly. " Wait, you're not... Oh thank the gods "

" I'm Dimira, thankyou for saving me. " she replies to Samuel.

She turns to Faunra " Asar, that one over there, " She says pointing at the 'blue eyed' skeleton. " He came upon us while we were setting up the crypt leading other skeletons with him. I don't know what caused them to awake from death but, oh it was so horrible. They killed everyone. Oh Roldare! " she bursts into tears.
