"Roldare, I hope you do not mind me asking this, but the crypt seems like a tough place. If we're gonna to retrieve your sister we'll need all the help we can get. Can we take the healing potions you have in there, and maybe the lanterns?"
Assuming he agrees to that, I would suggest that Bern and me take the healing potions (if everyone is OK with that?), and maybe take one or both bulls-eye lanterns, plus the oil. What say you?

So both the other doors in this hallway were locked? Or rather one was locked and the other didn't even have a handle?
"Stay safe Roldare, we'll be back." Nadab says trying to inject some confidence he doesn't exactly feel into his voice.
He walks back into the hallway. "Should we head back to the main entrance, or just try to bust one of these doors down?"
Incase the bust a door down appeals...

"Nadab my friend, wait a second. Seems that these doors can be opened." - instinctively, Zane goes to check for potential traps but realizes that after half-orc's gentle push, this is redundant. So ranger readies his weapon and tries to open the door.

This small chamber is mostly empty, save for the body of a villager sprawled in the center. Perched atop the corpse is a man-sized brown and yellow beetle, trying to push the corpse into the corner where a pile of trash and filth awaits. As soon as Zane takes a step into the room, however, it takes an aggressive position and starts to click its pinchers loudly.
There is another wooden door on the northern wall of this chamber.

Similar to the priest, Zane gets caught up in the full brunt of the creature's assault. Coughing and coursing intermittently, Zane tries to retaliate to the dangerous creature, before he is downed like Venedictos.

Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Nadab follows his companions into the room and, once a safe distance from the raging beetle, unleashes an acid splash at the giant insect.

Both Zane and Nadab connect with their attacks, simultaneously slashing and burning the beetle. Bern's strike, however, goes ever so slightly amiss.
The beetle, enraged by the party's intrusion and aggression toward it, lashes out at Zane with its pincers, but the ranger is able to deftly weave his arm under its frantic attack.

"Spread out, it will breathe acid again! We need to kill it fast!!!" - his words almost barely coherent, Zane moves to flank the creature in order to be sure he will hit it. He swings it's short sword, hoping for a purchase, shouting like possessed: "Kill it, fast!"

The beetle becomes even more agitated and desperate when the ranger thrusts his sword into the beast. Focusing on the foe who has caused it most grief, the beetle unleashes a hot cone of acid at Nadab and Zane.

Zane manages to sidestep majority of the acid stream, however what little caught him was more than enough to knock him down. Similar to Venedictos, Zane falls down hard and lies still.

Having taken down two of the intruders with its acid spray, the beetle brings its pincers to bear on Bern.

The beetle lets out a surprisingly loud screeching hiss, thrashing about from Nadab's strike before flipping onto its back. Its legs twitch a few more times before finally curling in to its motionless body.
There is another sturdy wooden door on the north side of the chamber.
Meanwhile, Zane continues to bleed out ...
Combat over. Someone heal that poor boy (and Venedictos, as well).

Nadab runs to Ven's side and taking the potion from his pack he pours it down the mans throat. " Maybe if we can get Ven up he can help Zane! How long do these things take to work? "

" Woh, that was quick. " Nadab says offering a hand to help Ven up. " That was a little close. Are you alright Zane? "

"What? Yeah..yeah, I am fine...thanks..." - very slowly Zane gets up to his feet, shaking his head slowly. He still felt a bit unsecure, but Shelyn's blessing invigorated him. He picks up his weapon, looks at the corpse of the dead beetle and then adds: "So, it would seem that the company of minotaurs that ran over me, simply got away, eh? No worries, we'll get them somehow..."
With a light chuckle, he winks at Nadab, pats Venedictos on his back and asks: "Got anymore of those Lady's blessings padre, cause I feel like...well, I could use some more, let's put it that way."

"I understand padre. Let us make it so." - Zane shuffles his backpack until he finds the potion, uncorks it and drinks its contents. Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 At least I am assuming it is 1d8+1, if it is something else, I will change accordingly
Still a bit groggy, Zane grasps his weapon stronger and then approaches the door checking them for any potential hidden surprises.

Zane turns to his 3 comrades and informs them in a low voice: "I don't think there are traps or alarms on this door. However I can smell smoke. Maybe there's a camping fire or something other side of the door. Bern, would you mind going in first? "

Nadab cranes his neck trying to look over the others shoulders and into the room.
" What's in there " he hisses.

The remains of a small fire smolder in the center of this broad chamber, letting off a plume of oily smoke. Fed by a heap of burning gear, debris, and more than few bones, the fire casts a flickering light across the walls of this room, partially obscured by the veil of smoke.

As the party enters the smoke-filled room, the smoldering flames cast dim shadows on the walls. Zane calls out that one of the shadows appears to be moving in a manner most sinister toward the party.

"A shadow! Watch out!" - Zane shouts as he shoots the arrow towards the incorporeal enemy. His intent was more to simply show his party mates where the enemy was than to really try and hurt the unknown creature.

The shadow comes screeching across the room, focusing its anger on the man who just fired a bolt its way. It plunges its hand through Zane's armor and into his chest, sending waves of pain throughout his body (for 1 point of Strength damage). When he manages to twist away, his body feels somewhat weaker than it did before.

"Argh!" - Zane lets out a scream of pain as he feels the coldness grazing his chest and remaining there, even after the shadowy creature has retracted it's hand.
Surprisingly fast, young man drops his bow and with a flick of the wrist a short sword appears in one hand and Zane plunges it towards the shade.
Shortsword attack: 1d20 + 3 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 2 + 2 = 6
-1 for STR already calculated, -2 for smoke, +2 for fav. enemy undead (which I forgot to include in my last attack roll). Still, just a big miss, nothing else :-( Zane now at 13/14 STR
