Note to all: My postings will probably slow down a bit until GenCon is over (and stop completely during GenCon), as I have my job plus a lot of prep work to get done before I leave for Indianapolis a week from Wednesday. I'll try to post at least once a day, but I'm afraid I can't promise more than that.
Once GenCon finishes we'll be back with a vengeance and a flurry of character conversions.
Best,
BrOp
P.S.: Wellard, I just noticed in another thread that you live in the Inverness area. I grew up in Europe and we had friends just outside of Glasgow whom we often visited. I have lots of fond memories camping and hiking all over Sutherland, Skye, and Glen Coe.

Seems like only five of us are going to the docks - Thumparr, Mel, Ebe, Ngozi, and Sevegny - at least those are the only ones who have responded.
Anyone else in?
Kappasc was planning on tagging along :P I guess I need to work on him being more...talkative...but he's just plain rude...

Well, he has time to catch up! Sevegny is disguising herself and she said it would take at least 30 minutes - c'mon man! :)
Gornak Elf-Toes |
Now that the final rules are out (http://paizo.com/prd), I'll need to make a few changes to Gornak:
-stats need to be tweaked a bit since the half-orc's stat mods were changed
-slight boost to Intimidate skill
-bardic music is now measured in rounds/day
-may want to reallocate skills because of Versatile Performer class feature
Ebenadar |
Oh, hey, the forums are back!
I've made a few changes to Ebenadar to bring him up to current rules - he gets stunning fist for free at lvl 1, halflings now get a flat +2 to perception instead of just sound and taste, and a tweak to flurry.
Please let me know if I've missed anything.

Good ideas Hogarth - should we all be updating to the new rules? Your thoughts, BrOp?
Hey folks! Well, I had a wonderful at GenCon and am finally back. Ran LOTS of game for Pathfinder Society and had a great time meeting all the wonderful folks at Paizo.
Now that I'm back, I'd like to encourage everyone to update their PCs to the new Pathfinder RPG rules. Please feel free to change what you like, although in order to maintain some form of continuity, we should probably stick with the same class/race combo.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the new rules. I've been studying them for a few weeks now (they gave us the PDF early so that we could prep for the Pathfinder Society games at the con).
I'm excited to get back into the game!

Melissa Evendale:
If you do continue your disguise I will secretly roll daily Perception checks for each of the other characters.
I am also happy to forgo all skill checks and resolve this sub-plot via RPing; it's your choice.
DM BrOp - Second Darkness |
I've been going through your character sheets and noticing that quite a few of them have not been converted (or are only partially converted). Here are some things I've uncovered:
HPs are back to just HD + Con modifier, no bonus HP at 1st level.
Ebendadar: HP should be 9, 8 if you take the favored class bonus as an extra skill point.
Melissa: HP should be 8
Beriadan: HP should be 12. Also the description for the Perception skill still is the Beta version. You now get a flat +2 to all Perception checks.
Ngozi: HP should be 11. Also your poisons have changed. Black adder poison now lasts for up to 6 rounds with a DC 11 Fort save needed or the target takes 1d2 Con damage and requires 1 save to stop taking damage. Small centipede poison lasts for up to 4 rounds with a DC 11 Fort save or the victim takes 1 pt of Dex damage with 1 save needed to stop.
Gornak: HP should be 10. Bardic Performance has now changed. Remember if you want to keep "Specialized Training" from the Campaign Setting book you loose your Bardic Knowledge ability which allows you to use ALL Knowledge skills untrained and gives you a bonus dependent on your level. Let me know if you want to keep it.
Sevegny: HP should be 10. Your "Bit of Luck" domain ability now works 5/day as it's based on Wis instead of Cha. You should also have a bonus 1st level spell due to your high Wis. Also Bluff, Disguise and Stealth are now class skills for you (you automatically get the +3 class skill bonus) because of the Trickery domain.
Kappasc: You should have 7 HP. Hand of the Apprentice has changed. You still get your Int bonus to attack but the weapon uses your Str mod as damage bonus. It can only be used 8/day. Let me know if you want to stay a Universalist Wizard or would like to switch to a specialty. I'm willing to let you change now since we're redoing these characters in the conversion.
Thumparr: Your age should be 40 + 5d6 if you want to determine it randomly. Your current listed age would barely put you out of dwarven diapers :) HP should be 12. Speed is now 20 ft. CMB should be +4. You also seem to have some skills missing. Remember you get one bonus rank for taking a level in your favored class (if you want fighter to be your favored class, that is), and you get 1 free rank in your Profession skill.
Hope that helps a bit,
Alex

I think I'll keep Gornak good 'n' ignorant, thanks. :-)
I'll remove the extra HP; I forgot exactly where they came from.

After much thought, I've decided to drop out of the game. My other time commitments have grown in the past couple of months and my interest in the game has waned.
Thanks BrOp for letting me play, albeit for a little while. Please use Thumparr as you wish - someone else can come in and take him over, or you can use him as an NPC or he can just move on.
Axe high, friends!

Thanks for letting us know, hedgeknight. I'll probably just keep on NPCing him. You've created an interesting character and they party can always use a tank when the chips are down.
