Maintaining her vigil on Jack's still form, Miyako says to Droid "Droid, can you bring up any physical and technological security information on this place?"
"Let's wait to see what jack discovered." Miyako says as Jack begins to stir.

Jack opens his eyes and sits up. He calls Crix to include him in the discussion. "Alright, the hotel has little to no magical security, and only two guards in the security room. Fiona's room is empty, though her gear is there. I saw no astral traces of strong emotions, so it seems unlikely that if she was abducted it happened in her room, but her things are still there."

The Mulvihill Hotel stands about 5 stories and conveys an air of thinking it's a five star hotel though, in reality, it's probably a three. The workers' uniforms, while classy, aren't quite as crisp or clean as you'd expect, and the building looks as though it was upscale once, but overdue for some renovation. Trudging through the glass doors, you see a tidy desk with a placard that reads "Guest Registration."
The desk clerk, a snooty looking dwarf with his nose in The Seattle Times, mumbles Welcome to the Mulvihill Hotel without bothering to put down his newspaper. After a beat, he sets down the newspaper and appraises Miyako, darkening upon seeing her cybereyes and ears. 150¥ per night he says clearly with a fake smile, then mutters, though it looks like you all might be more comfortable in the Motel du Roach in Redmond. Then, in his falsely cheerful voice again, How many nights will you be staying? We accept all major credit cards.
Miyako
Seemingly oblivious to the insult, Miyako says "One Night. Domo. in heavily accented English. She pays using a credit card tied to her Japanese national SIN.
Always thought that cybereyes and ears were cosmetically made to look natural - maybe the more expensive kind :)

Hey Droid, let me out in just a sec. Jack focuses for a moment, borrowing power from the spirits, and his form blurs and changes into a small housecat. Binding the transformation into his sustaining focus, Jack shrugs off the strain of the spell.
Casting Force 2 Shapechange.
Spellcasting: 9d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 3, 4, 6, 4, 1, 3) = 30 = 1 success.
Drain Resist (DV = 3): 10d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 5, 2, 6, 1, 6) = 38 = 4 successes, no drain.
With a Meow! at Droid to open the door, Jack hops out and trots over to the hotel and around back, staying hidden in the landscaping as much as possible. Once he gets to the back door, he hides under a shrub and waits.

Nope, if you want a natural look, you buy bioware. Even though you can get cyberware that isn't chromed, even the less obvious stuff still don't look quite natural.
The clerk takes your credit card and runs it, hands it back, and after telling him (I assume) you want a room on the fourth floor (where Fiona's room is) he hands you a keycard and dryly says Room 1406. Enjoy your stay.
Miyako
"Domo" ,Miyako says with a slight bow.
She then turns and surveys the lobby as if looking to make sure where the dining room/ bar/pool is ( if there is one) , but in fact she's checking for the location of the security desk and any visible surveillance gear.
With a nod to the clerk, she walks to the elevator and takes it to the fourth floor. Once there she will goto the stairs at the back of the hotel and descend to open the door for Jack.
As she approaches the stairs she will activate her jammer to take care if any cameras in the stair well or by the back door.
Infiltration(9) + jammer(4) 13d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 2, 4, 3, 6, 3, 3, 2, 1, 4, 4) = 40
2 hits, 3 1s. Glitch?
Mr. Johnson GM
Miyako would know that an area jammer will do nothing to a camera physically wired into the hotel's security system, which the hotel cameras may or may not be. You can check with a Hardware+Logic Test. Also, jamming doesn't require a test; it automatically jams everything with a Signal+ECCM rating lower than the jammer's rating, with its effective rating dropping by 1 for every 5 meters in the effect radius (rating 4 from 0-5 m, rating 3 from 5-10 m, etc.). If you still want to do it, that's fine, but I thought you should know.
Also, Jack is right, glitches are based on half the total number of dice rolled, not a comparison of 1's to hits. Critical glitches are glitches in which no hit is rolled.
Miyako
OK thanks. Sorry for a stupid question, but what would be the Hardware element of that check ? Goggles or some other type of detector?
Not sure if the cameras are physically hooked up to security, Miyako leaves her jammer on, but also attempts to avoid any camera's arc of vision.
Infiltration 9d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 3, 2, 4, 6, 1, 3) = 32. 3 hits

Miyako and Jack make it up to her room without, as far as they can tell, attracting any undue attention. An attractive ork maid with a room service cart on the 4th floor smiles politely at Miyako as she passes, but apparently doesn't give her a second thought.
Miyako
Is our room right next door to Fiona's
Entering the room, Miyako immediately sets up her jammer to counter any wireless surveilance, then searches the room for sign of any physical surveillance equipment.
Perception 5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 2, 6) = 14 1 hit
Miyako
Satisfied that the room is adequately secured, Miyako checks the window. Does it open. If so, is there a balcony?
Waiting for Jack ( right now a cat with glazed eyes ) to come back and report on his findings, she transmits to Droid "Hey Droid, could you put up a drone with thermal imaging on Fiona's room?"
Miyako
Sorry Jack, I spaced on your post. No, there's nothing new in sight.
The room does have a balcony, and the sliding glass doors open easily.
Keep in mind that your jammer is also jamming your commlink and anything else on you relying on Signal 4 or lower wireless transmissions.
OK she'll turn it off in order to talk to Droid. It would be nice if one could filter frequencies allowed by the jammer, like a router firewall...is that possible?
Mr. Johnson GM
What Jack said :) You will either need to buy some ECCM (Electronic Counter-Countermeasures) for your commlink or upgrade its Signal rating in order to bypass your jammer. EDIT: I just realized I had been reading your comm's stats wrong. The Fairlight Caliban has a Signal of 5, so its signal is stronger than the jammer and can get through. Sorry about that!
Fiona's room does have a balcony, with about 5 m between yours and hers. Both balconies have steel railing about 1 m tall and about 6 cm across of surface on top (i.e., that you could stand on, if I'm thinking you two are going to do what I think you're going to do ;-)
Miyako
Eyeing the gap between balconies, Miyako sees that its too close to the max that she can jump. Looking up, she tries to estimate how far it is to the next balcony above or if none to the edge of the roof.
"We're going to go take a look in Fiona's room." she responds to Droid.
Miyako
Eyeing the balcony above and the distance between balconies, Miyako pulls her stealth rope from her mission pack and secures it yo her climbing harness.
"I'm going to make this jump, you hold onto this rope in case I don't ." Miyako says to Jack as she shrugs into the harness. "I'll let you in through the front door."
Slinging, the pack onto her back , she lithely climb up onto the railing, looks back to make sure Jack has the rope in hand, then turns back to the 5m expanse of air she must traverse.
A couple flexes of her powerful thighs and Miyako launches herself into the air.
Jump: Agility(5)+Gymnastics(7) 12d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 2, 1, 2, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1, 5) = 39. 5 hits
Mr. Johnson GM
Though prudent, Miyako's precautions were, in the end, not necessary. It takes the best of her jumping skill, but she gracefully lands the 5 m jump onto Fiona's balcony. Stepping down from the rail, she checks the door. No surprises await her on the other side, just a very messy room. However, the sliding glass door is maglocked, the console on the inside of the room.
Miyako
Duh...should've asked about the lock setup of our room first
Can I assume that the monofilament chainsaw is very quiet, as it is a b&e tool. Also can it be used to cut a hole in the glass of the door? Without attracting attention noise wise. Miyako would probably know thus stuff...I don't :)
