Soldier's Glory comes to life, and bolsters Kinshasa with holy energies:
Aid: +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saves against fear effects, plus temporary hit points equal to 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 pts.
| GM PDK |
No: the snake thing is Kinshasa mounted on Kokina, which are part of your party; the guardian is the medium-sized dog guarding the door upstairs
Magdalyn Varus
|
Magdalyn moves to the westernmost stairs and rushes to the top, forming a shortbow of crystal in her hands as she she does. Once at the top she looses the crystalline projectile at the dog.
Kinetic Blast Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Kinetic Blast Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
| GM PDK |
Magdalyn hits the creature, but the force of the crystal projectile should have impaled the dog instead of merely denting its haunches slightly! You noticed the projectile slowed down considerably at the last minute, as if the dog was protected by a considerable protective field!

GM PDK, I have 2 questions please. 1. How high is this area we are on above the floor where the dog statue is? and 2. Can I have Kokina charge the dog? I know there is only a 5 foot path, but can she charge over the edge?
Edit, nevermind. I read the charge rules and don't think I can.
Kinshasa attempts to dismount Kokina quickly Fast Dismount
Ride DC15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
He fails to do so, but now is on the floor. He moves up to the guardian, ready to attack next round.
Double move, one to dismount, one to move
| GM PDK |
Climb Speed A creature with a climb speed has a +8 racial bonus on all Climb checks. The creature must make a Climb check to climb any wall or slope with a DC higher than 0, but it can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened while climbing. If a creature with a climb speed chooses an accelerated climb (see above), it moves at double its climb speed (or at its land speed, whichever is slower) and makes a single Climb check at a –5 penalty. Such a creature retains its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) while climbing, and opponents get no special bonus to their attacks against it. It cannot, however, use the run action while climbing.
It says no to run action, but doesn't say no to charge action. Therefore, you may charge up the dais while mounted on Kokina. By taking 10 Kokina makes the DC 20 climb check (+2 STR, +8 racial); although I strongly suggest that you should put at least one rank in climb for her for the odd times you'll need to roll for it...
| GM PDK |
Just move and attack then. Remain mounted for the +1 to hit. Your AC will thank you. I've moved you on the map. There. Done. :) For my 9th level cavalier I took: Wheeling Charge which lets you charge through allies, and the charger archetype mount took: Narrow Frame, Charge Through, which lets you charge through enemies. I'm having a great time with the character! :)
| GM PDK |
Keandre you're going up not down, so 10 feet of movement cost per square. I'm going to assume you go full defense at the end of your movement.

20ft move to door, casts Divine Favor (+2 hit and damage/10 rounds)
"Naruda bless you! HAHA! I AM A GIANT AMONG MEN!"
The euphoria of being enlarged is clearly inflating Garr's ego
Garr moves in, his tall, thick legs pumping as he heads to the southern door. When he nears the doorway, he stops. Bracing himself for a breach, he mutters a glorious prayer to Gorum to guide him in the ensuing battle
"Gorum! Bless my hand to strike true, my fury to be unending, and my enemies to lay broken before me!"
Garr casts Divine Favor on himself
Enlarged, Roaring, and glowing with divine might, Garr is quite the sight to behold..
| GM PDK |
As per Naruda's post, enlarge person has a casting time of 1 round, so at the beginning of her next turn you will be enlarged, thus, when I post round 2, please wait until Naruda has posted before posting Garr's next actions. Thanks!
Kinshasa

Kinshasa swings glory at the guardian, hoping to knock it down.
Glory: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

so sorry pdk! Still getting used to the rules I'm sorry I thought I was up for some reason. Knew this would eventually happen my apologies everyone!
Garr will standfast next to Naruda as she blesses him with increased size and strength. Adding to it by layering himself with gorums divine favor
| GM PDK |
You did nothing wrong. I just said 'when we get to ROUND 2 wait for Naruda before posting' - we are still in Round 1 and your action was casting divine favor; Round 2 you will be enlarged as well, but not yet. So wait until after Naruda's next post and everything will fall into place.
Naruda Burada

Yeah, enlarge person is a full round cast, so it comes into play at the beginning of my next turn. Also, you don't have to stand right next to me, it's a close range spell so you just have to be within 25 feet of me when it goes off in order to be a valid target for it.
| GM PDK |
The small guardian dog attempts to bite 1 - Kinshasa, 2 - Kokina: 1d2 ⇒ 1
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 [HITS! see below for dmg]
The crawling hands attempt to swarm Garr!
Garr's AoO vs. 1st crawling hand, Greatsword, Divine Favor, Fate's Favored: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 13 [MISS!]
crawling hand 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 [HITS!] for 1d1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 dmg plus grab: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11 CMD. [MANEUVER FAILS!]
crawling hand 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 [MISS!]
crawling hand 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 [MISS!]
Dog's damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 dmg plus 1d4 ⇒ 1 electricity dmg and trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 CMD. [TRIPPED!]
The dog 5-foot steps and pulls Kinshasa off his saddle with an electrical jolt that has Kokina startled; the crawling hands attempt to climb over Garr, and one finds a thumbhold near the half-orc's neck, but it is unable to latch to his throat and falls back to the ground, leaving a gash in the large warrior's green skin!

Yes Garr: all 3 hands are in your squares now.

Kokina bites at the guardian, defending Kinshasa.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
With her teeth still in the construct she attempts to wrap her coils around it Grab
Grapple: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
After Kokina hopefully has the construct wrapped up Kinshasa stands and swings Glory at the guardian.
Glory: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
| GM PDK |
Dog AoO as Kinshasa stands up: bite, grappled: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18 for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 b/p/s damage and 1d4 ⇒ 3 electricity damage and trip, grappled: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 2 = 20 CMD.
Kokina immobilizes the construct, and Kinshasa ALMOST delivers a thundering blow with Glory, who momentarily flashes as it overpowers the Alcasti protective wards with its own aura! HOWEVER, the dog yanks Kinshasa back to ground and he loses his footing, becoming prone again!

PDK.. ? If I 5ft adjust are the hands within my melee range?
They already are in your square so already within melee range. Depending WHERE you 5-foot step, some of the hands may or may not be out of your squares and would have to suffer AoOs coming back to you.
| GM PDK |
Same as before. Your weapon doesn't gain 'reach', but Garr's natural reach increases, which means you can attack in your squares, 5 feet away or 10 feet away. It's awesome!
Garr Nesteruk
|
5ft adjust, attack w/longsword at hand directly to Garrs right
Garr shifts his bulky form to the side, wiggling away from some of the groping statue hands. He attempts to slam the enlarged sword down and crumble the hand into dust and debris
Longsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Unsure if the numbers for the damage and hit are correct. lot of bonuses. Im pretty sure longsword is large so d10, large so 6 str, two handed for 1.5 str, divine favor, and bless.
Keandre Glasmiter
|
The dwarf moves back up and tries to stab at one of the hands with his spear
1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10
| GM PDK |
Garr chops off a hand! I'm gonna assume you chopped off one of the hands that's in your square, so as to generate an AoO from the 'outside' hand... go ahead and roll a second attack as it's about to happen anyhow...
Keandre tries to spear a hand through, but misses! I'm gonna assume you moved an extra 5 feet south to provide flank to Garr... the hands are diminutive in size and don't threaten squares, so your movement is without AoO... they are AC 14 so even with the flank you only hit for 12...
Garr Nesteruk
|
Garr swings with an overhead chop with the longsword at the steadily approaching hand..
"Lucky for you, you don't feel pain. Otherwise Id say this is going to hurt. a lot. "
Garr attempts to smash the second statue hand!
Longsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Magdalyn Varus
|
With the dog suitably surrounded, Magdalyn moves to the railing and raises her hand. She forms in it a small blob of negative matter and hurls it at the remaining hand.
Kinetic Blast Attack, Bless, Firing into Combat: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Kinetic Blast Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Garr Nesteruk
|
Magdalyn! So close. Almost had your second crit. Good rolls. Also now that I'm off work and did the research... Large sword is 2d6 damage.
But my bonus should be not as high to damage. +6 STR, +1 Enlarge, +2 Divine favor. For the most part my average should be pretty close to the earlier rolls, and I'm assuming the hands don't have much hp anyways. Just wanted to make sure Garr is legit in his wonton destruction. Proceed lol

”It a lot harder to hit without using one of the House weapons! It’s like some magic field is making it protected from my regular weapon.”
I shouldn’t post in the mornings because I forgot to attack with a house weapon after Perrine scolded all of you. I’ll rectify that next round.
| GM PDK |
Magdalyn manages to pierce the dog's protective field and makes a dent into the dog!
The dog attacks Perrine, trying to bring her down as well:
bite, grappled by Kokina: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 2 = 5 [MISS!]
The last hand attempts to attack Keandre's throat:
claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 [HITS!] for 1d1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage and grab/stangle: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16 CMD. [STANGLED! --> Keandre cannot speak or cast spells with verbal components]

Hey PDK, not a big deal but I actually targeted the hand last turn. I'll continue with the current turn of events!
Magdalyn forms a small bead of black energy at her fingertip and points it at the hand strangling Keandre. With a slow exhale, she launches the projectile forward.
