Magdalyn's search reveals the passage of several creatures with bare, furred feet through the dust. The individual footprints could be from particularly large rats, but the pattern of the tracks is bipedal.

Following the tracks, they lead to a seldom traveled hallway, and then to a wall. It is not long before Naruda, thanks to her knowledge of Arodenite engravings, find the concealed door, which opens to reveal a spiral staircase leading to the basilica's basement.

"That is true, Garr. They didn't grab some of the most valuable things that were in the temple. It seems likely that someone put them up to it. We should try to get the items back peacefully, but if they were put up to it by some more powerful individual then they probably won't give up the items willingly. I think we should be ready for a fight."

A once-imposing set of double doors stands slightly ajar across from the stairs. The chittering echoes of conversation stop as you all reach the base of the stairs.

Magdalyn and Garr head to the door; as Magdalyn pushes the door open she finds three armed ratfolk smiling back at her. "Heyyyyyyyy lady... are you lost or sumthin'! heheheh"

After first dodging the boss's dagger, Magdalyn is forced to move with the assisting Ratfolk's movements. She can see that it's going to be hard to take a shot at his boss now, so her attention shifts. With a cold, savage smile her arm snaps out, grabbing his goon by the neck. "Let me show you how it's done, rat."

There's a loud, sharp whistling sound as a vortex of black matter suddenly begins to violently gather beneath Magdalyn's feet, swirling and twisting all around her. Move Action: Gather Power The black-violet tendrils of energy gather in her hand and just like with the hatchet before, suddenly and instantly form a crystalline weapon, this time in the form of a wicked, hooked shiv. With the Ratfolk's neck still in her hand she buries the shiv in its side, the blade of the knife exploding into gravitic force on impact. Kinetic Blade Infusion, no Burn from Gather Power

I can't move my character in the slides with my tablet or phone.

Naruda would still like to move up to the door and open it if she can. If she is not able to squeeze next to that door, then Naruda will draw a javelin and ready her action to throw a javelin at the first ratfolk she sees.

Do you mean what's the range on the surge ability? I googled it and it seems like the publisher left out the range on this ability and it is not clear what the range should be. If I was GM I would give it a 30 ft. range, as that seems to be the common range for a lot of level 1 bloodline or domain powers. I think the GM will have to make a decision about it.

Dear players - we all took a break for the holidays, which is cool. I'm willing to wait for you all a few more days* and let the turkey digest before continuing but know that if the party does not take decisive action at this time it looks like Quest 2 will be a fail from a Chronicle Sheet point of view. I know you're all level 1 and that you're all invested in your characters but this kind of 'wait and see what the next guy will do' attitude is not heroic and might work against you more than it will help, especially in this module. You've been warned: be the heroes you claim to be! :)
