Nyx Illisha |

"You can call me Jazz if you like," Nyx responds easily, looking at the man up and down, evaluating how best to handle the situation. "So, are you going anywhere in particular, or just returning home after a fine time at the tavern?"

Jidhuun |

Jiduun strikes the monster once more before she is hit by some strange streams of every type of energy except the one she is resistant to which not only cause considerable amount of pain but also cause her to vomit, and seize up.
Attack of opportunity Vicious repelling boarding pike w/power attack, Babe: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 262d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 + 2 = 17

fort 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 not a crit vs touch 17 though, 6 cold dmg

GM Ascension |

Only 5 cold damage then instead of 13
Jidhuun is left in plain view, standing just outside the doorway, her boarding pike clattering to the ground as the rakshasa stuns her.
The guardsmen follow the "sergeant" Rori's instructions and circle around back, while Rori hastens himself, Jidhuun, and Rex who is also nearby.
As the guards come into Nyx and her escorts view the man looks warily at the guards, "Uh oh. Trouble o' some kind." He turns away to move north. "Think it best we leave here Jazz."
Any actions from Rex? Move to the doorway and shoot? (It won't be invisible anymore) Follow the guards around back? Other?

Nyx Illisha |

Nyx frowns at the sight, keeping her face full of concern. "Personally, I'm more willing to lend a hand helping those people in need. I'd feel extremely guilty if I walked in the other direction and someone got hurt because of it. Besides, I'm more of a person that enjoys a spot of trouble more often than not".

GM Ascension |

With Rex on hiatus to get his computer fixed, GM PC
Seeing Jidhuun stumbling backwards out of the doorway, Rex steps up behind her and fires his crossbow at the rakshasa.
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
The creatures tough skin absorbs the bolt though.
The rakshasa turns and breaks out the window at the back, and climbs through the opening where the guardsmen are waiting. She begins fleeing westward provoking AoOs from the front two..
There attacks are ineffective.
Party is up. Alexia is in the correct location on the map at this point.

Jidhuun |

Jidhuun continues to be stunned...

Nyx Illisha |

Do I still have a telepathic link set up with the rest of the party? If so I'll pass on pretty much everything that I know about them. In the meantime however, I'd probably start heading towards the Marai while buffing myself, since this might be a little tricky...

Alexia "Bishop" Hebert |

Spell is Message. We did but I'm out of range. I think Rori was the second "Cell tower" on that aspect but he was also in a place where maintaining it would be difficult. I'm going to be looking into cheaper methods of keeping contact between the group in city distance (couple miles) because I get the feeling that as the sneaky types we are going to have lots of instances where splitting up would be best.
Xabu the scorpion is acting as a middleman between Alexia and you all. He should still be within range to get a message back to Alexia if it is apparent that you all need the back-up *EX: the target is getting away.
On that topic could I make some roles on the Tavern to see if I can't wheedle any more potential watchers out of the place? If I'm not needed in the battle it would be best if I did something of marginal use elsewhere.

GM Ascension |

Rori calls out for the guards to give chase. The two in front charge the marai, but as expected their blades are ineffective. Rori heads east to try and cut her off, looking for an opening wide enough to move into the back street where the rakshasa is.
Party is up. photobucket is misbehaving at the moment, so I can't get a map up.

Rex Trickshot |

Rex, still in disguise, pops his spring-mounted crossbow out of a large sleeve and fires three special, aligned bolts at the Rakshasa.
(Spending 3 grit, and 3 silver drow poison bolts)
Rapid Deadly Sharp Shoot Point-Blank 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 (vs touch AC)
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 (Good, magic, and piercing, +Drow poison, DC 11 + 2 for each additional poison)
Rapid Deadly Sharp Shoot Point-Blank 1 confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 (vs touch AC)
Bonus Damage: 3d6 + 36 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) + 36 = 47 (Good, magic, and piercing)
Rapid Deadly Sharp Shoot Point-Blank 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 (vs touch AC)
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 (Good, magic, and piercing, +Drow poison, DC 11 + 2 for each additional poison)
Rapid Deadly Sharp Shoot Point-Blank 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 (vs touch AC)
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 (Good, magic, and piercing, +Drow poison, DC 11 + 2 for each additional poison)
He smiles as one of the bolts hits the Rakshasa in the neck with an unsettling smack. Finally, the assassin has his day!

GM Ascension |

Fort saves 28, 16
Rex's shots drop the creature into unconscious. Most of Jidhuun's damage was non-lethal.
Two of the guards run forward towards the rakshasa while the other two start looking down the narrow side alleys. One turns to Nyx. "You'll have to go somewhere else ma'am, this area is being closed off till further notice." He adds, perhaps hoping to scare her off, "There may be more of these demons about, but don't worry, we'll take care of them."

Nyx Illisha |

"Oh yes, of course" Nyx responds swiftly, rather happy that the task was completed in a satisfactory manner. "Oh, and thank you very much for saving me from that...creature" she responds sweetly, playing up her role as innocent civilian.

Alexia "Bishop" Hebert |

Very much. That creature was taking over our contact immediately following his detection as a counter agent (The memory of Alexia's charade.) The creature was likely going to report to her superiors and this particular monster if unique enough that interrogation might give us viable information. At least I hope we can get that, otherwise we will have blown our best advantage against the Rakshasa shadow league in the city.
Now comes the work of erasing the crime scene and giving these guards something reasonable to believe or killing them in a manner that could be easily blamed on the Rakshasa. If Rori has something up his sleeve for dealing with now would be good to reveal it. The attention we have just drawn will swiftly unravel Rori's cover and draw attention to us otherwise.

Rex Trickshot |

Oh... well, I think I can handle this.
As Rex slips away, his disguise changes, from that of a young barmaid to an older, more raggedly-dressed servant woman. Her illusory left sleeve is tattered by imaginary claws, while faint red lines of phantom blood appear on her shoulder; her face is covered with both mud and bruises.
"Help!" the woman calls out. "There's some sort of... tiger... monster..." and sees the corpse and points, "Oh, just like that one! Do you know how to kill it? I can lead you there, quickly, before it gets away and attacks some other poor soul." and she points down an alley in the opposite direction of where the other guards had left to search.
Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Disguise: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

GM Ascension |

The guardsmen, around the back side, and unable to see Rex change his disguise, seem unaware of the change.
"Another one? By the gods. Sarge, should I go get more help?" he asks of Rori and looking back in the direction of the south gate, though it is out of sight from his position.
Another one of the guards looks through the broken window in the back of the home. "We've got a corpse in here."

GM Ascension |

Rori may have disappeared.
Rori calls out in his best sergeant voice. "Ignore the body for now, let's go see about this other creature."
Then whispering under the message spell, "What's the plan? You just want the guards away from here for now? The men will likely talk once they are back at the gate, unless we remove them too."
He and the guards head off in the direction pointed by Rex.
