Chantif
Ah, I understand now.
Chantif ducks out of the tent and moves away from the Sunrod, circling the tent in the opposite direction of whoever is holding it, and coming around to where he can see which direction the dog has directed his attention.
I think Kobolds have darkvision and light sensitivity, so staying in the dark actually makes him easier to spot, but he doesn't know that. Unless he does?

Jolting awake as soon as the dog started barking, Det reached for Krolik and started running outside. "What's going on?" he asked in a groggy, slurred manner.
I would still like to take the minute to put my armor on with help. Without it I'm not really much use.
sarpadian
The dog is barking towards the south. After about 30 seconds, at the south edge of the light from Umash's sunrod, you can see three kobolds with a large rat slightly in front of them. At the east edge of the light is the halfling merchant running with torch, yelling "They're here! You brought them here!"

I moved my token on the Roll20 page 30 ft (since I'm in light armor ATM), placing Rhona directly in front of the dog. Let me know if I did anything incorrectly. Since I hadn't made it clear that this was what I was going to try to do before combat started, I'll just use my move action for it now.
Seeing the kobolds come into view with their rodent of unusual size, Rhona places herself between the enemies and her comrades (and the guard dog) and bangs on her shield with her sword, hoping to draw them toward her. "Right, then," she shouts. "Come back for another round?"
Raising shield, going Total Defense (standard action) to add +4 to my AC till my next turn comes around. Hoping to draw them closer so we can lay into 'em.
Chantif
I was going to propose we both charge--I can get 3 AoOs a round and there's a nice little spot where I can threaten 3 of them. But this works too.
Chantif moves up to stand beside Rhona, brandishing his spear. Drexel, get the mules to safety!
Readied attack against the first enemy to come within reach. Also have 3 AoOs per round to use each time any of them move out of any of the outer yellow squares in the aura on Roll20. Need to get some spiked gauntlets at the next garrison so he can threaten adjacent spaces also.
--
Det, you are far from useless without your armor. Ask Drex to drop Mage Armor on you. Besides, Chantif took all those kobolds on earlier without any armor.

ROUS's? I don't believe they exist. And I forgot about Drexel. Well in that case I'm going to catch up with Chantif as soon as I talk to him. (I can't mess with the map until I get to my laptop. )

How would any of you know what spells I have prepared or which ones I know? Not trying to be arbitrary, just saying, player knowledge vs character knowledge.
I move up behind the Donkeys and take a pot shot over them at the rat prior to moving to gather up their leads. That should give me some soft cover should the kobolds try and throw something at me, and possibly goad the rat into moving through Chantifs threatened squares.
handle animal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 to not spook the donkeys
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
sarpadian
Drexel's crossbow bolt smashes squarely into the creature, causing it to hiss in pain. It leaps forward, trying to bite at Walt. As it does so, Chantif reaches out and skewers the rat. It slides off the end of his spear. One of the kobolds pulls out a sling and loads a bullet into it as he maneuvers around the old campfire pit south of the mules. Once he can see Drexel, he twirls the sling over his head and lets fly. The bullet strikes Drexel in the side. A second kobold attempts to tumble past Hal, but he stumbles and misses wildly, nearly losing his grip on the spear in his hands. Hal kicks at him but misses. The third kobold takes up a guard position next to his friends. All of a sudden, an arrow comes screeching out of the forest, clipping into Chantif's shoulder. Chantif, Rhona, and Drexel all see another kobold, armored more heavily than the others, in the forest to the west. The halfling continues to run towards the party; he winds up next to Umash. "Half-orc, drop the sunrod. I'll carry it for you. You'll need both your hands free."
Drexel and Chantif, you both take 1 damage. Det and Umash, y'all are up.
Umash, the Unwanted
"It's a deal." Umash drops the sunrod and produces a flask from her belt and tosses it ath the advancing Kobolds.
Throwing bomb at the green Kobold
Ranged touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

The other two kobolds would take 5 damage, Reflex DC 14 halves
sarpadian
The green kobold is 25 ft. from you, which is in your second range increment. That imposes a -2 penalty on your attack roll.
Umash flings the flask at the group of kobolds but misjudges the range and throws it past the one at whom she was aiming. It lands on the other side of the group and bursts into flames. The two kobolds caught in the blast's wake look badly singed, but they're both still standing.

As soon as Det sees the nearest Kobold he takes a swing at it using all his might.
I'll hit the blue one if he's not dead, but if not I'll hit the red one and if they're both dead then guess I'll start running after Rhona, Chantif, and Drexel.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
Rhona Patenaude
Okay, since the two remaining kobolds are within my movement range, I'm going to try to pinch them between us so we can finish them off. Let's neutralize the numbers game before we go after the sneaky archer guy.
Rhona rounds about the mules, hoping to cut off the kobolds and trap them between her and the others. She leaps forward with an overhead chop, roaring with anger.
Longsword!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Pretty sure that'll kill this guy.
Chantif
Chantif drops his Longspear and pulls his shortbow from its quiver as he strides south of the mules. We have to get that bugger out of the trees, out of the dark, or go in after 'im! He pulls back on his bowstring and lets an arrow fly.
Shortbow damage, Deadly Aim: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
sarpadian
The remaining kobold is silhouetted against the palisade for a moment as he moves into the encampment, but you quickly lose track of him in the shadows. The halfling picks up Umash's sunrod and moves towards the battle.
The auras on the map may be getting confusing, but I don't know how else to do this. The outermost circle is the radius of dim light from the sunrod. Moving inward, the slightly darker circle is the overlapping dim light from the campfire and the sunrod. Both of these auras are bluish in color. The next aura inward, whose southernmost point is 5 ft. SW of Chantif, is where the normal light from the sunrod overlaps with dim light from the campfire. The innermost aura is where the normal light from the campfire and from the sunrod overlap. Non-magical light sources don't stack, so the outer 2 auras are dim light, and the inner two are normal light. On a related note, Chantif, I turned off your aura because you dropped your longspear; it wasn't doing anything other than complicating the already complicated aura situation. Det and Umash are up.
Umash, the Unwanted
Another vial in hand Umash walks closer to the rest of the group. She yells out in draconic: "Already have enough? I know you can do better!"
readying an action to throw a bomb at the next kobold I see
Chantif
Chantif returns to where he dropped his Longspear, but doesn't pick it up. I saw him come inside the palisade and then I lost him in those shadows over there.
Readying an attack should I see the Kobold within shortbow range. Phone-Posting so I haven't updated the map yet.

Drexel and Rhona, y'all are up. Also, in a break from my normal procedure, I'm moving the halfling merchant's turn to the block with Chantif (already posted), Rhona, and Drexel. He will move 20 ft. in whichever direction a party member tells him to. I've been doing his turn with the other NPCs so that I could post all their actions together. There's only 2 NPCs left, though, and the order is important: if you move him in the correct direction, you will find the kobold before he has a chance to move.
Rhona Patenaude
Moving 30ft westward (already updated on the map).
"Hey, bring that sunrod over this way!" Rhona shouts, waving the halfling over.
I want him to move 20ft west-and-down-one, to put him one square northeast of me. Pretty sure that should extend the light range far enough to spot the kobold. We're basically playing a guessing game- hopefully I've got his direction right. If this allows me to see the kobold, can I make mine a double-move to get as close to the kobold as possible?
Drexel Morrow
Accoring to the map the Kobold is visible so I will fire at him
Seeing the kobold in the light shed by the sunrod I line up a shot and fire.

attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

HAhahha, two 20's in a row, should I roll again?
sarpadian
As the halfling moves towards Rhona, you all can suddenly see the kobold to the southwest of you, holding wicked-looking knives in each hand (instead of the bow he had earlier). Rhona runs towards him, and Chantif takes his already prepared shot while she is in motion. Chantif's shot misses wildly. Somehow--despite the confusion and bedlam--Drexel manages to score with a crossbow bolt that strikes the kobold just below the sleeve of his armor. The kobold lashes out with both of his knives, nicking Rhona on the inside of her sword arm as he takes a careful step around her to the south.
Rhona, you take 3 damage. Det and Umash are up. Also, Umash, technically you're allowed your readied attack from last round, if you want it, since he's right at your maximum range. Just be aware that you would take a -10 on the attack roll for range penalties, and the bomb could land anywhere within 10 squares of where you aim it.
Left Hand attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Left Hand damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Right Hand attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24Right Hand damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Confirmation, RH: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Extra damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
sarpadian
Yes, though--now that I think about it--having y'all post actions for the next round before they post their actions for this round is going to make keeping track of who has gone and who hasn't a lot tougher. Somebody's liable to get an extra turn--or get skipped--in the mayhem. Not to mention the danger of affecting their actions with knowledge they shouldn't have yet. If you want to post an action for the next round, put in a spoiler. That will help me keep track of things.

Not relying on my skills with a crossbow while so many people are milling about my target, I put it away and approach the already downed kobolds ensuring they are dead. Pulling out my dagger I set to the grisly work.
Chantif
Chantif drops his bow and strides over the kobold, pulling out his heavy flail as he does so. He swings his flail at the kobold's feet in an attempt to trip him.
This will provoke an AoO that triggers before my attempt, but I think I pulled off the trip, so unless he knocks me out with the AoO, I think it was worth it. He will now provoke if he tries to stand up. Also, unless he has Combat Reflexes, if he takes his AoO against me it will use up his allotment for the round, so move freely guys.
sarpadian
Rhona moves to a position on the other side of the kobold from Det and Umash. Swinging her longsword, she connects solidly with the kobold. Chantif manages to knock the kobold prone, and the off-balance retaliatory strike is nowhere near connecting with the flail-ing ranger. The kobold yells something in his guttural language and then stabs at Umash from his knees. He slices Umash badly on the inside of the thigh, and then jumps to his feet. The party attempts to take advantage of the opening, but they all miss.
Umash you take 8 damage.

Seeing a flash of opportunity, Det moves around Umash to where he is directly behind the Kobold now. He lifts his hammer in the air and comes down at the Kobold.

Slippery little bugger, isn't he?
If he's still alive after Detskiye's attack...
"Just go down already, you stubborn little...!" Rhona punctuates her words with another forceful swing of her longsword, aiming for the side of the kobold's neck. "Keep on him! Don't let him get away!"

Umash downs one of her vials. "So that was his mighty clan? I told you I couldn't be intimidated, although that is one nasty wound that little ____er gave me.", while she's talking the wound is aleady beginning to close up. And by the time she is done it appears to be gone.

Master merchant, were there any more over by your wagons, there?
If not, he helps Rhona dig through the Kobold's bodies for loot. Then, turning to Rhona as he stashes his flail and retrieves his other weapons, he says, I was also going to suggest a stroll about the perimeter.
Master merchant, please be so kind as to follow us with that light as we walk the palisade to look for more of them.
