Raliscar Stoutaxe |

We had been in something of a standoff with the nosferatu but now he's shooed us off so he can prepare for his upcoming journey. We don't have the juice left to take him down ourselves, but since we're not trapped in the room with him any longer, Raliscar doesn't feel obligated to hold to the deal. And this seems like an opportunity to get others involved who might be more well equipped to deal with the vampire.
One person could stay behind with the cart, probably Raliscar, to work at preparing it - both in case the vampire checks in and to wait for Rutter so he doesn't just walk down there with whomever he found to be a driver.
As for temples, if there's a temple of Pharasma or Sarenrae, we'd probably get the fastest buy-in from them, but I'm not sure off hand what temples are here or prominent apart from the Abadarians.

Aardvark DM |

Okay, so you want to rally the troops to come help against the vampire then? Mainly the Korvosan Guard and some priests? I'll have to look into the temple situation. I think there's primarily a Vault of Abadar and a temple of Asmodeus, but not sure what other ones are there. I think there's a small sect of Pharasmins in the graveyard. Neva, not sure what your'e looking for. Like vampire knowledge or church knowledge, or a loophole in the agreement?

Neva Vallastoi |

Yes, Aard that's the plan. Neva wants to know, a) to which sects could we look for allies, and b) are there any she feels are strong enough to handle such a challenge.
Obviously, this is one of those situations that are difficult to adjudicate in RPGs. A month ago in the game world, our characters were 1st-lvl losers and had neither allies nor a claim to fame and there were many people better fit to meet the challenges we were trying to overcome. But now, we have allies and a claim to fame so we should be able to ask powerful people for favors. But it's a role-playing game and we're supposed to be the heroes who solve these problems! If we wanted NPCs to solve all the problems would could wrap this Path up in an afternoon of expository prose.
This is a difficult encounter. We're weak, he's strong, but the heroic thing is to thwart or destroy the bad guy. Is there a way to do that with allies/personages in Korvosa (that we know of)?

I was trying to figure out a way to expose him to sunlight, personally. That said, if we can't get direct help, it would likely be possible to get spells cast on us and/or scrolls/potions to give us a fighting chance... Especially if our taking hours gets us close to the sunrise.

Aardvark DM |

No excuses, sorry. Well, plenty of excuses, no good reasons, though.
As Rutter returns with the driver, Raliscar is still there to assist with getting the vampire's things loaded. It's slow going, as it seems to take him a while to haul any one of his chests up from the rooms below. After he leaves to go back for the last, Raliscar discusses the plan with the driver. The two men agree on a place they are both familiar with and a rough time frame. It's about a good couple miles outside the city, but will work for the plan.
The vampire returns with his final piece of luggage, and with an exchanging of coins, he directs the driver to the destination and demands they move along the fastest route possible.
The driver agrees, then offers a knowing look to the group as they see them drive out of the area, across the cobblestones.

Raliscar Stoutaxe |

Raliscar frowns at the wagon as it departs, his weariness and exhaustion getting the better of him and leaving his emotions raw and on the surface. He knew, inwardly, that it was wrong of him, but he cared more about the risk to his wagon and horse than he did the driver Rutter had dug up. Sniffling briefly, he roughly brushes the back of his hand across his nose and growls, "Alright. That's tha' then. Let's get ready fer our reunion with that pale nutter tomorrow."
With that, the dwarf turns and begins dourly stalking back to their abode.

Aardvark DM |

Are you all done dealing with the Hospice and below?

Vyshael Invisus |

I think so? I mean, I think we finished exploring and looting, so now it's just too tip off the good guys and go? Admittedly, it's been a while

Raliscar Stoutaxe |

The doctor needs to be delivered to Kroft for questioning/imprisonment, but I had thought that got taken care of while Raslicar was waiting for Rutter and the driver at the cart. Other than that (and warning Kroft about the thing we left in the vat), I believe we're ready to leave the hospice behind.

Feldivarxon Rumblestithem |

Did we search everywhere as we went? They had all sorts of secrets. We didn’t check out the vampire’s room after he left, for one. That said, I just got here, so I’m following the group’s lead, specifically Raliscar.

Aardvark DM |

There are 7 doors on the map that did not get touched.

Rutter |

We probably would have needed to bring the musician to Kroft so he'd have a place to recover. Too late in the night to find his sister.
As the party heads into the depths of the hospice again, Rutter struggles with the decision the party made to betray the vampire.
He was probably going to kill the driver, anyway, so at least we'd be saving him. But what if he wasn't? What if he was going to keep his word? We're going to kill him just because he's a vampire? Not that it matters - the world won't be any worse without him. Like it wouldn't be worse without any of us... And it's too late to change this plan now.
Rutter settles for tacitly chastising the others with the risk they've put the driver in, "Well, we better not screw this up. If we get killed down here, that driver's going to be dead when the vampire wakes up and they're not close enough to Ustalav."
He draws both kukri as Neva prepares to open the door.
