Thought of that. Spiltting, while making good sense tends to slow PBP down even slower than it normally is.

My home internet is being ... much less than cooperative (again) and I may not be able to come online every day. Please don't think that I've given up on the game! I will try to return as I can... Feel free to DMPC me if such becomes necessary.

I'm not clear on the entire history of Aroden, I don't believe Paizo has done an extensive background on him. But my understanding is he was supposed to be The Last Atlantean, a race of advanced spellcasters, whose country was destroyed (centuries? Eons?) ago.
Among his many other accomplishments he became a god, perhaps with the Starstone he put in Absalom, again it has not yet been explained how it happened, that I know of.
But just because the majority of his worshipers were human, doesn't mean he couldn't have had non-human worshipers. For example, the god Torag is the patron god of Dwarves, credited not only with being the creator of their race, but also the head of their pantheon.
Even so it has been acknowledged (Inner Sea Gods) that Humans also worship him as the God of blacksmiths. As for the Alignment issue a cleric only has to be within one step of their gods alignment, so a priest of Aroden could be Lawful Good or Lawful Evil.
As Aroden has been dead for a century, and his priests can no longer draw on him for powers or spells, the question becomes academic.

I think it was Faiths of Balance that specified him as being the patron god of humanity.
Here's the write-up on the Last Azlanti.
It figures. ^^ Humanity finally gets a hearth god in an AD&D-derived game, and he kicks the bucket...

I've never liked the racial deity thing. Always seemed they would take followers where they found them and people would be devoted to gods who were patrons of their vocation, or interest.
Although there were holes in the Pantheon, I was pretty excited when Golarion started with just the big 12. Now you've got the divine flavor of the month club again. It's disappointing.

I wanted to give a heads up that I'll be traveling from Wednesday through Sunday (going to Gen Con) and my posting will be limited. I'll still try to check this game at least once a day, but will likely be posting from a phone when I do post.

Thraxin "The Dashing Devil" Kyr |

Sorry for being absent for a while now, but I've working hard with my buddy on getting our game ready for kickstarter and playtesting at GENCON!!! As well I will be very limited at Gencon to post for the game but should be back and ready to play next week, for all those going to Gencon this weekend and if you want to try out my game Labyrintheus click on the link for our schedule.

Well, I am headed off tomorrow for DragonCon and will not be back until Monday night. I'll have a laptop and should be abel to post most days but likely not more than once a day. Please bot me if you need to. Everyone have a good Labor Day weekend.
Noting seems to be happening at the temple of Aroden anyway...

Hope you had fun! I just retuned and should be back to normal after a good night's rest.

From Memory
Can not remember one night's rowdiness
One night was a drunk guy singing Karoke til about 2, I think.
The third night was a big one;
one camping group was running a loud party (Playing Music and most are very stoned) (they stopped at about 1, after being told to stop the party, repeatedly)
and a second camping group had 6 folks, drunk as skunks, laughing it up with very offensive jokes.

You need to get out into the real wilderness to camp. Sounds like you were at a commercial campground. I have had similar problems. The worse time was when the group next to us (all very drunk) got a full sized van stuck and tried to drive it out of the woods, up a bank so steep that no one could have succeeded at. They tried, sliding the van all over the place and often near our tents, for 4 hours. And mention to wait for light was met by alcohol induced threats of violence. I try to avoid such campgrounds now, especially on holiday weekend.

DM Azure_Zero |

It's because some folks don't think there are any rules when they are out camping.
Though if we go camping next year, the cars will face are neighbours (headlights on if they party),
and if they drink til 2 in the morning we send in the kids with pots and pans at say 7 in the morning.
(Loud wake up + hungover drunks = a lesson in drinking when camping, and a bit about respect)

therealthom |

I agree with Skorn. You'll have a better camping experience if you get on the trails. Just a mile or two hike is enough to deter 95% of loud drunken campers. Early season and mid-week are often better than high summer holidays.
Depends on the campground too. Some places are pretty family oriented with clear quiet-time rules.
Too bad the yahoos rained on your trip. I hope you had good times during the day anyway.

I am at a loss as to how to move this thing forward. Perhaps its a little too free form to work well in a PBP environment. Can we get some GM help?

![]() |

Right. But the evidence suggests this has not been enough.
I guess I am about to head out again, perhaps alone.
We have no leader - this was a mistake. You do not send men out into the field without a leader.
Also everyone needs to start posting more often or this game is going to die. I had high hopes for it.

Guys, my home computer died. I need to replace the hard drive. But I will be in a three day class starting tomorrow. So my presence on line will be limited til Monday.

![]() |

This is the second time it died in a month. I have a good back up but this time the restored volume does nor mount/start up the computer.

therealthom |

It's the month for computer trouble. I don't have my own laptop, but one from my employer. Last week I got a cryptovirus. Lost all my common format files. I still don't know how I got it. I try to be very careful. I just finished reloading the OS Thurs morning. Now I've got to wait for my boss to authorize software. I've been posting on my wife's computer at home.

DM Azure_Zero |

Ouch, I've had my share of bad viruses and other malware, and that one is bad.
Though not as bad as the one that infected our whole house over ten years ago, and did not die after three days of constant re-formating (even the MBR was wiped for cleaning).
I got my PC clean first on the third day after cleaning the Hard-drive AND the CMOS, and it came back clean.
I then kept my PC quarantine from the home network as I cleaned the rest of them.
It did some damage to some of the PCs, and they did not work the same way again afterward.
And it was a good thing we got rid of the virus as it had a date set payload that would of turned the PCs into paper weights.

Yow. That's all I can say.
I have a friend who says there's a special place in hell for hackers.
I am assuming they are referring to black-hat hackers, and not the white-hat hackers.
After that event I've gotten better at removing unwanted malware, even viruses that get windows to protect them.

Yes, the special place is for black hats.
Hopefully this will teach me to do a better job of backing up my files. I've also learned tons about loading an OS.

DM Azure_Zero |

Well I've also learn Windows is a hot bed for bad programs.
So I'm going to switch to linux, in a short bit.
So far Zorin is a nice stepping stone for getting into linux, for any windows user.

I am back from my class. Hard drive is still not booting up. I am not sure if I have a bad hard drive now or if my back up is corrupt. Will work on that tonight. In the mean time I believe I will take my work computer home.
