NEW RULE: FAVORS:
Season of Factions’ Favor introduces a new type of support card: favors. Certain scenarios place favors into the blessings deck. When that card is discarded from the blessings deck, do what it says. If a favor would be encountered or removed from the blessings deck discard pile, banish it instead.

RULES: TRADERS:
In Season of Factions’ Favor, traders work differently than in Mummy’s Mask, in the following ways.
• When you are rewarded with a trader, instead of checking it off on the Bazaar card, record it on your Chronicle sheet.
• You do not visit traders after winning a scenario. Instead, at the start of each scenario in this Adventure Path, before setting out the locations, you may visit 1 trader you have recorded on your Chronicle sheet.
• Pay the trade cost with the usual number and type of cards from your deck, but instead of putting those cards in the box, put 1 in to your deck box and bury any others.
• At the end of the scenario, return the card you traded for to the game box, and put the card you returned to your deck box back into your deck.
For example, to pay the trade cost to a trader offering spells at a cost of 2 boons, put 1 of those boons into your deck box, bury the other boon, then add the spell to your deck. At the end of the scenario, return the spell to the game box and put the first boon back in your deck.

Could I go to the Oasis and cast Augury for Henchman? Most of them don't have trigger effects and it should shuffle the Arachnid back into the deck.

Well it worked. The spider is gone. We need to draw some cure spells soon though.

Out of curiosity what are the rewards on this scenario? I presume we unlock some merchants but is there anything else?

The rewards are:

Traders: Efni Raan, Naheeba
For the rest of the Adventure Path, 1 character may temporarily replace 1 item in her deck with the loot Golden Serpent Armband. At the end of each scenario, return the card to the game box.

Damn! That is over 1.5hrs typing Rahali's turn and it is still not finished. Need to resolve some curly rules questions. Glad we have Hawkmoon AI at this table :-)
Will complete once he responds

On drawing Rahali's hand, I now have remove curse. Should I use it on Zarlova's Curse of Poisoning or save it in case a nastier curse comes up?

If Rahali takes the power that lets her add the AD# of items recharged, she would REALLY like the Golden Armband

deck handler Searching for:

It sounds like everyone gets access to it. Though I won't until tier 4 I think.

Speaking of, I should clarify that I joined this table with little understanding of what it meant to play a barely tier 3 character at tier 4. I'll do what I can to make sure we succeed but after this scenario I plan to play the character I'm applying this to (Grazzle) from scratch and apply this credit when he hits tier 4. Though I'm not sure how that will work exactly.

I am also playing a brand new tier 3 character. However this was the only higher than tier 1 table I could see and I really wanted to play my first ever character, Rahali.
Yes, we are definitely playing in hard mode, however there are still a few blessings left and no one is close to death.
The way I interpret the Golden Armband reward = Any Seasons of Factions Favor adventure (AD4+ onwards???), One player who has the reward per group can swap in the Armband.

deck handler Searching for:

If only one of us can have the armband then I won't roll for it. My only consideration for loot is I prefer something level 4 just so I don't have to skip a level 3 loot in anticipation of getting it at tier 4.
Preferably a spell of course but anything other then weapon or heavy armor will do.

Only one character can have the armband each scenario, because there is only 1 in the box. You can switch who that is at the start of every scenario though.

Question:
Rahali has two tough combats if she wants to close her location. Combat 28 (rat) followed by a combat 19 (Eel)
Looking to she what support is available.
What does Aqueous Orb do? Does it allow casting at another location?

If it does support, she plans

Combat 28
Ghost Whip 1d8 + 3 + 2d6
Enora Twin Serpent Quarterstaff +2d4
Zarlova Blessing of Pharasma +2d8

Combat 19
Rahali Power (Recharge Blessing) 1d10+1+1d8
Aqueous Orb +1d6??
Enora Twin Serpent Quarterstaff +2d4

If needed, Zarlova Blessing of Maat

Does this work as a plan?

If Orb does not support, she will just go to defeat Rat, no close attempt.

Combat 18
Ghost Whip 1d8 + 3 + 2d6
Recharge Blessing of Spellbound 1d10

Are you guys OK with this? Thoughts?

EDIT. Just realised with only two cards in hand I can't handle the Voices of the Spire in between. Will go with plan B

I'm a little confused. Why would Raheli potentially fight the Voices of the Spire? And why wasn't the Ratfolk Palguebringer defeated?

From our ACG Online Venture Captain

Hello players!
We have received the final piece of our convention support, the special convention player rewards!

First off, if you are a BRAND-NEW player to the Adventure Card Guild (as in, the character you're using in your game is your #XXXX-1001 and you have not played any other characters in organized play) you can assign the Welcome to Pathfinder Reward to that character:
Society Initiate: You may only assign this reward to the first PFSACG character that you create. At the end of a scenario, if your character is dead, you may cross this reward off; your character is no longer dead. If you have a role card, you may instead cross this reward off to gain a card feat.

In addition, EVERY player AND box runner is going to have a 10% chance after each scenario of scoring a reward. These rewards can be assigned to any of your PFSACG characters... they don't have to apply to the character you were using. If you roll a 1 or a 20 on your d20 roll at the end of a scenario, you'll get to choose from any one of the following faction rewards:

Note about faction rewards: Faction rewards are a special type of benefit tied to the factions that use their considerable influence within the Pathfinder Society to pursue their own agendas. You may apply no more than one faction reward to a given character at one time. You may use no more than one power from a faction reward per scenario. Each faction reward specifies additional requirements that, once fulfilled, grant additional uses of the reward’s power. Once you have used all of the powers from a faction reward, including the powers that have additional requirements, you may assign another faction reward to that character.

Player Reward 1: Concordance Faction Reward
[ ] [ ] Elemental Scholar (The Concordance Faction Reward): You may check a box that precedes this reward to reduce Acid, Cold, Electricity, Fire, or Poison damage dealt to you by 2.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Exceed the difficulty of a check to acquire a card that has the Acid, Cold, Electricity, Elemental, Fire, or Poison trait by 6 or more.
[ ] Exceed the difficulty of a check to defeat a monster that has the Elemental trait by 6 or more.

Player Reward 2: Dark Archive Reward
[ ] Collector of Wonders (Dark Archive Faction Reward): On your turn, you may check the box that precedes this reward to draw an item that has the Alchemical or Magic trait or a spell from the box.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Acquire a boon that has the Book trait, a boon that lists Knowledge in its check to acquire, or a spell.
[ ] Succeed at a Knowledge check to defeat a bane.

Player Reward 3: Grand Lodge Reward
[ ] [ ] Society Agent (Grand Lodge Faction Reward): You may check an unchecked box that precedes this reward to automatically succeed at your check to temporarily close a location.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Acquire an ally that lists Diplomacy in its check to acquire.
[ ] Close a location on the first turn of a scenario.

Player Reward 4: Liberty's Edge Reward
[ ] [ ] Freedom Fighter (Liberty’s Edge Faction Reward): After you roll on your Charisma check, Diplomacy check, or check attempted before you act, check a box that precedes this reward to add or subtract 1 die; take the new result.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Defeat a monster that has the Captain or Gnoll trait.
[ ] Succeed at a Charisma or Diplomacy non-combat check to defeat a villain or a henchman.

Player Reward 5: The Exchange Reward
[ ] Master of Trade (Exchange Faction Reward): After the roll on your check to acquire a weapon, an armor, or an item, check the box that precedes this reward to add 1d6; take the new result.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] All of the cards offered by a trader you visit have an adventure deck number lower than that of the current scenario.
[ ] Succeed at a Craft non-combat check to acquire or defeat.

Player Reward 6: Silver Crusade Reward
[ ] [ ] Cleanser of Abominations (Silver Crusade Faction Reward): On your turn, you may check an unchecked box that precedes this reward to banish a scourge or a card that has the Curse trait.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Defeat a villain or henchman that has the Demon, Fiend, or Undead trait.
[ ] Play a card that shuffles at least 1 card from another character’s discard pile into his deck.

Player Reward 7: Sovereign Court Reward
[ ] [ ] Lawful Citizen (Sovereign Court Faction Reward): You may check an unchecked box that precedes this reward to evade a monster you encounter or to ignore a power that would move you.
You may use this reward up to 2 additional times if you fulfill the following requirements. When you fulfill the requirement, check the box that precedes it; when you use the reward, cross that line off.
[ ] Succeed at a check required to move.
[ ] Bury or banish an armor to reduce all damage dealt to you to 0.

This is the first online ACG event where we've been able to give out rewards like this, so I'm SUPER excited to offer them to you all! Good luck, and I hope each of you wins at least one!!

I think with 4 locations left and only 6 turns left we need to discuss the best 2 places to close.

Windswept Chasm is close to being closed just by going through the cards. But that last card is Insanity Mist which can't be banished until the next turn. One of the cards there is a blessing and Zarlova is about to get a blessing so she could go there and dig down to the insanity mist.
It gets displayed. The rest of us focus on closing 1 location.
On Zarlova's next turn we give her a blessing and she rolls 2d10 +3 to hit the DC 10 Perception check. Hopefully we can give her a 2nd blessing. Then she discards her hand to close and we win.

So what other location do we try to close?
2 of the 4 unknown cards at the Oasis are blessings. So Alahazra has a decent chance of reaching the Elemental Arachnid. Even if she doesn't everyone else working together should easily get to and defeat it. Then we just try to load our hands with blessings to ensure Enora makes her wisdom check.

Even if things go wrong, Zarlova's blessing doesn't allow an explore, And the top of Windswept Heath is a spell or a blessing she fails to acquire, Alahazra can go there and trigger the barrier. That leaves the 3 of you to close Oasis and then Zarlova will still be able to banish the barrier and close on her next turn.

My interpretation is that she can do the close check at the end of the first turn i.e. during turn, encounters Insanity mist, it is displayed. End of explores, location is now empty, Zarlova can discard hand to close. There will be a rules question as to whether she has to make the check on the next turn or the barrier is removed when the location is closed. (My thoughts is that she would.)

Alahazra BGiB wrote:

I agree the Oasis is probably the best location to try and close. The challenge I see is in actually defeating the Elemental Arachnid.

The BYA damage is 4 different instances, so you either need a reveal armor that would block the elements, elemental treaty or similar or be able to handle the Arachnid with -4 cards in hand.

Rahali has absolutely NO chance of being able to fight the Arachnid. She can help clear down to get there, but someone else would have to take the fight.
Maybe Enora could handle the Arachnid?

Well if the spell at Windswept Heath is Arcane Enora can get it using Steal Book. But that won't actually increase her hand size. She might be better off moving and adding that 2d4 from her staff to whomever takes on the elemental.

Sorry All, The Sharp eyed Alahazra pointed out multiple flaws with my last turn (that will teach me for posting in a rush :-( )

Instead of clearing the Oasis, I get completely owned by the Elemental Arachnid and we still have 3 cards to defeat in the Oasis including the Elemental Arachnid (4 * 1 damage :-( ) and only three blessings remaining!
Good luck guys!

deck handler Searching for:

That Blast Glyph is an issue. And the deck is reshuffled. So we know about the Glyph, Elemental Arachnid, and I don't remember if we officially know if the last card is a ghoul but we do know it is a ? so that is a blessing , henchman, or random monster.

Resources: Rahali has Binder's Tome in hand. Will add 1d4 and the mental trait at Oasis. Good vs enemies that are not undead.
Zarlova has Blessing of Maat and Blessing of the Gods.
Alahazra has Blessing of the Gods
Enora has Blessing of the Elements.

So let's say Enora goes to the Oasis.

If the top card is a Blast Glyph one BotG gets her 85% chance of beating it. Then she uses her Blessing of the Elements to explore again.

If the top card is a blessing she tries to acquire it. Using one of our blessing or Blessing of Maat if she rolls poorly.

If it is a monster other then Elemental Arachnid she rolls the d6 and we have a 66% chance of closing the location.
Note Binder's Tome adds 1d4 to non combat charisma checks at that location. This includes the Diplomacy check for the 3rd option on the d6.

If the top card is Elemental Arachnid we still have a 33% chance of closing the location before the fight.
During the fight she uses Rahali's Binder's Tome plus one of her attack spells and we throw all our blessings at it.

Even if everything goes wrong on Enora's turn we still have Zarlova and Alahazra.

As mentioned I would like to play my Grazzle from level 1 up and just bank this scenario. But between role cards normally being chosen at tier 4 and some scenarios adding bonus feats I have no clue what razzle will want by level 4.

Loot is easy. I can pick last and if it goes to waste no big deal.
I'm hoping I don't have to choose my role yes because both Bog Medic and Bone Diviner look good.

Put "Andrew" on the chronicle please (it's how I do all of mine). Andrew Roberts is my real name.

Will have to figure out what I want later. Already packed up my deck.

I'm admittedly not too familiar with taking one for the team. But, reading the guide, I want to make sure i have this right.

So, I'll give you a chronicle, for Grazzle, not Alahazra. But, next scenario, will you have to build a "new" pregen Alahazra again?

I'm not playing the next scenario. I want to start an AP from the beginning with Grazzle. When I hit tier 4 I apply this chronicle.

You can put Tyler or Cartmanbeck, they're all over the place. :)

And this is a replay for her.

Looks like Andrew's Zarlova qualifies for the Initiate reward. I'll send you one.
