Polanco scoffs at the state of things. Damned idiot goblins
He then prepares to move on once the others
Lasair McMaraugh |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Lasair slowly walks around the two smoldering heaps, inspecting their contents. As much as he appreciates fire, Lasair prefers burning his enemies, not precious ancient documents. Amateurs. However, upon closer inspection, he locates and rescues several unscathed volumes.
"Hold up, Polanco, there's still some stuff here that's intact. Warping the Flesh and Sculpting the Mind... that sounds foreboding; A Fool and His Gold: Karzoug and Xin-Shalast; and The Essence of Vanity: Politics and the Illusion of Power in Cyrusian. There are some brains in the society bigger than mine that are sure to love these."
The halfling mindlessly hands the books over to Stephen when something catches his eyes.
"Hey, these look like scrolls! Think they're still functional?"

Alaric Ysande |
survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Alaric isn’t paying attention, and moves up to be ready to handle the next room.
GM Baerlie |
You move up to the door at the end of the stairs and open it. The octagonal room behind the door looks to have once served as an office: a smashed desk is shoved against the north wall near toppled bookcases. A large pile of books, some with chewed-off covers, has been arranged into the shape of a makeshift throne. To the northeast sits a two-foot-diameter boulder covered in shiny baubles, coins, and other trinkets. You can easily deduce that the boulder serves a religious function for the goblins.
The room is occupied by four creatures. In the middle sits a goblin mutant with wings and claws, on a pile of books which are forming some kind of a throne. Around her stand three creatures made from half-formed body parts, standing on two two monstrous legs. The Goblin Queen looks a bit surprised, but morders her 'army' to attack.
The creatures are fleshdregs.

"Nice choice of spell, Alaric! Now, let's see what kind of trick I have at the ready..."
Double move.

The queen carries a broken leather armor, a masterwork ranseur, four throwing axes and a magic cloak.
The baubles draped over the sacred boulder are shiny but worthless.
It's a cloak of resistance +1.
GM Baerlie |
With the Fleshwarped Queen and her lieutenants Grib and Glibeldring defeated, the wrath energies within the facility grow unfocused. Any remaining goblins attempt to flee, ignoring Julian as they go. After a few hours’ rest, Julian successfully seals the magical energies within the ruin, preventing it from taking another champion like Zoagusk and rendering it safe for future exploration. Tide Watcher and the other Shoanti thank you for your service and promise to continue friendly relationships with the Pathfinder Society.
