I have found that I have to go to some national guard mandatory fun in June. From the 3rd to the 23rd I’ll have limited internet connectivity. While I’ll finally learn how to use an m249 light machine gun...it’ll limit my posting. My apologies in advance.

No problem, I manage to see it, and it is pretty spectacular!
Also, I tried watching it slowed down so that I could catch everything that's happening, and if you watch it at 1/4 speed (apparently doesn't work in mobile apps, just on the website), the music gets really creepy and I'm pretty sure ends with their meaningless deaths in a cold and uncaring universe. :)

Since these puzzles kind of drag on and on, I was thinking doing a sort of "casual" initiative system.
This kind of situation is what this module is filled with, and if we carry on at this pace its going to be a very, very tedious process.
So, instead of characters asking each other permission to try something and attempting to come to group consensus, how about we do something like this:
Puzzle encounted
DM rolls Init
Each PC says what they want to try
Those that dont respond in 24 hours are botted/ignored (like combat)
Ideas are tested in Init order
Repeat if needed until puzzle solved
What do you think?

...a creature can be attuned to no more than three magic items at a time. Any attempt to attune to a fourth item fails; the creature must end its attunement to an item first.
I sort of forgot about that. I don't think anyone has more than 3 at the moment, but might come up as we progress.

Oh, and for the record, I'm cool with this, too!

Ah, yes you are right...
When making a melee weapon attack, a creature that doesn't have a swimming speed (either natural or granted by magic) has disadvantage on the attack roll unless the weapon is a dagger, javelin, shortsword, spear, or trident.A ranged weapon attack automatically misses a target beyond the weapon's normal range. Even against a target within normal range, the attack roll has disadvantage unless the weapon is a crossbow, a net, or a weapon that is thrown like a javelin (including a spear, trident, or dart).
Creatures and objects that are fully immersed in water have resistance to fire damage.
On the other hand, the water level is rapidly lowering anyways. Since I goofed lets ignore it this time, but if it comes up again (something tells me it will) Ill be sure to enforce.

Having tons of fun! It would be interesting to share how the room should've worked. PM me if no one else wants to know
cheers

FYI - I'm on vacation for a week starting tomorrow. I should have an ok connection and can post, but just in case I disappear, the connection is likely worse than I thought and don't wait for me.
Also, I goofed on the suggestion to teleport. Ends up he can't teleport her. That was a power I thought I took but changed my mind. So he will quietly wait and hope someone else has an idea. :)

Note to self! Don’t harm undead.
So it heals the undead when I attack them and harms myself.
What about the 4d8 radiant damage from smite? Does that still harm them? Because that could easily negate the healing I inadvertently caused

Irony: D&D5 says that hexblades are based on the original sword Blackrazor, and that they come from the Raven Queen
The Raven Queen hates the undead
Blackrazor heals the undead and hurts the wielded
I suppose the fluff has changed across editions?
GM Infinity
Was reading more on Raven Queen from Mordenkainen's, there's a distinction between sentient and non-sentient undead. Her hatred is directed at the former (ie vampires, wights, revenants, lich) not the latter (zombies, skeletons, etc). Blackrazor is itself an imprisoned atropal (pic on slides), which are failed and incomplete immortals abandoned by the gods to drift in the void. Her goal seems to be souls, the memories contained within souls are what maintain her godhood...shes gotta collect them all and can't allow one to be trapped in a vampire for 10,000 years. Zombies are soulless so not care.

Urth, I just noticed this, but you can only ready 1 thing. So you could ready a move, counterspell, or shield...but not all three. Ill ignore this time since it slipped by and consider you using dodge.
He readied a move. Counterspell and Shield are both reactions. Everyone gets a reaction per round. I mentioned them in case Urth was targeted.
I think that's how it works.
cheers
GM Infinity
Ah, I see the confusion. The Ready action, when you use it, consumes your normal action. When the ready is triggered, your reaction is also spent. You couldn't have a ready trigger and counterspell/shield.
So instead I just had you move and dodge. You amazingly didn't get hit somehow, so hopefully that accomplished what you were going for. XD
Urth Stormraven
OK. I didn't know that. Didn't know that a ready consumed a reaction.
thanks

Indeed it puts quite a limit on what is possible with ready compared to previous systems, ie no extra attack. A lot of things happen based on specifically "taking the attack action" which never happens when you ready.
For spellcasting its also quite a change, and makes it more like 2e casting. Readying a spell takes concentration! If the concentration is broken while you are holding the charge, spell is lost. Haven't seen that ever happen in my games though, lol.
Sometimes you want to get the jump on a foe or wait for a particular circumstance before you act. To do so, you can take the Ready action on your turn, which lets you act using your reaction before the start of your next turn.
First, you decide what perceivable circumstance will trigger your reaction. Then, you choose the action you will take in response to that trigger, or you choose to move up to your speed in response to it. Examples include "If the cultist steps on the trapdoor, I'll pull the lever that opens it," and "If the goblin steps next to me, I move away."
When the trigger occurs, you can either take your reaction right after the trigger finishes or ignore the trigger. Remember that you can take only one reaction per round.
When you ready a spell, you cast it as normal but hold its energy, which you release with your reaction when the trigger occurs. To be readied, a spell must have a casting time of 1 action, and holding onto the spell's magic requires concentration (explained in chapter 10). If your concentration is broken, the spell dissipates without taking effect. For example, if you are concentrating on the web spell and ready magic missile, your web spell ends, and if you take damage before you release magic missile with your reaction, your concentration might be broken.

It’s hard to judge resource expenditure without understanding the sword. How can Godric learn it’s mechanics? Even a condensed version

Just found Wave, Whelm and Blackrazor in the 5e DMG. Urth is great for Wave! Complete serendipity. I brought Urth from GM Infinity's last game, because I couldn't develop a better character. Too funny.
cheers
GM Infinity
Urth is a pretty strong character imo, and yes Wave certainly matches the theme.
To be honest all these legendary weapons are total overkill unless I intentionally throw super hard encounters into it. Not a lot of high powered encounters in this one. Then again, I was surprised how the knight fight went down so wtf do I know.

Yep, still here. But oldest kid is moving to Chicago for college tomorrow morning, so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to devote much cognitive cycles to this over the weekend. Bot if necessary.
And the site has been an odd sort of buggy. Seems to be very reliable and stable the majority of the time, but when there is a problem, it’s completely, utterly out for a week. Site problems are kinda rare, but always catastrophic.
