I did forget! Has that always been something that was visible? :o
But, on the other hand, the only time it's been applicable (to my knowledge) was for the SNEK where you also rolled perception for the whole group. :P
Not rolling for PING is rude! You left Ping out, Kitty!
I suppose that'd have allowed me to dive for cover, almost assuredly, huh?
And I'm reading that right, that I can detect danger to say... Violet, not just me? Should I be the one rolling it?
Would it ahve also taken -5 to its rolls?
mdt |
1) Your powers, and yes, it was always visible. I can't remember everyone's powers.
2) It's applicable any time there's an ambush or danger, if I don't remember, ask for it!
3) Ping is just what your position is (lat/longitude). Unless that's your HP name, it's your HP. I only provide it's dialog when you talk to it (which you rarely do). :P
4) Yes, it can detect danger to your immediate environment, if you're capable of sensing it (IE: It can't detect danger from an invisible opponent if you're not using active radar).
5) No, there was a penalty on the perception rolls to notice the attack, as there were on the snake after it left sight and used stealth. There was only a -3 on the initial perception, and it would have had that as well (basically, it's an opposed stealth/perception check).
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Ping is the headputer's name. I don't know that Pulse knows that Ping is a person, yet. :P
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Mud is immune to terrestrial poisons. Does this extend to the snake's venom?
"Mud" Adam Storn |
Then Mud could have stayed there to pin open the snake’s jaws without taking any more damage?
mdt |
No, Mud would have taken more damage from the fangs, he's not immune to having two feet of superhardened ivory shoved through his body, he's only immune to the poison they were pumping in to him.
"Mud" Adam Storn |
OK. So, he's damaged, but his Dex is not drained.
Saffron "Aegis" Sinclair |
I plan to use teamwork with Pulse by delaying until 8 but would it possible for me to jump on the snake to try and squish it, or at the very least making running much harder.
I'm not really sure what kind of roll that would be.
Saffron "Aegis" Sinclair |
All right thanks, I'll keep with a normal hit for the teamwork bonus and see about a grab next turn.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Breakdown of actions for the fight.
I'll try to keep it updated with each action.
mdt |
Ok, Aegis hit on 8. Please everyone try to make sure you actually post 'Delay until blah' for me, it gets very hard to keep track of which posts are which if you don't. Thank you.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Yeah, my anxiety is up, so I'm looking for like 11 bajillion things to 'improve'. So trying to keep a running log of actions seems wise for play-by-play. Color-coding on the known metas page for 'who's up' and 'who's gone' will give a quick glance at whose turn it is, too.
The playbyplay doc is also editable.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
I may have kicked us off track a little with my whining, so... waiting on an action from Aegis and Violet for Phase 9 (or intentions to delay being known). Snek went pretty far away, though. :(
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Is Violet gonna do something else, or are we good to move to Pulse trying to hit with Mud?
Project Violet |
Is Violet gonna do something else, or are we good to move to Pulse trying to hit with Mud?
There's really nothing else she can do against the snake, so making sure that the entire group knows exactly where you (and Mud) are at and the condition you're in is how she's going to help in this situation.
Saffron "Aegis" Sinclair |
Not really sure what to do. The snake is miles away and we have no real way to track it much less chase and Pulse will be dead soon
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Yeah, Pulse may still be in the mindlink.
I've responded to the pm now. I'm at work though, so I'll be delayed in making adjustments. If she didn't stop counting down due to mindlink dropping that's the only functional difference for now.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Pulse is still in the mindlink and counting down, though her counting is slightly faster. I'll have to update the sheet (including refilling my endurance and remathing it once home.)
Everyone is officially faster than Pulse ATM.

We finished Luke Cage Season 2 a bit ago, and I think it's my favorite Netflix Season so far. The Primary Antagonist is infinitely more interesting and the season has a lot of interesting things going on. The ending is a lot less shoe-horned-feeling than the first Luke Cage... though I still think it has a weaker ending than most (their writers seem to be firmly in the camp of 'To Be Continued'. Which isn't really a problem, given both the medium (serialized television) and the source material (comic books).
Either way, it's awesome, and if you have the time, get on that. :)
Project Violet |
I'll jab him. He's been having some life issues, which may explain his quietude.
Barry "Blaze" Wind |
I'm sorry. I'll get something in this afternoon, during my lunch break.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Is the hole in the snake Pulse sized? Does she have enough air to get her post twelve recovery?
mdt |
It's not completely Pulse sized, but it's also not small. Basically, she could try to slip out of it (it would require a dex check).
No, she can't get her post 12 recovery (but she does get the other bit I PM'd about).
Hotaru Hoshiko |
I edited my post to respond and added a roll. :)
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Any opinions (or assistance) with snek murdering?
Saffron "Aegis" Sinclair |
Turns off her flight?
The flight while in contact that lets her not wreck whatever she's standing on, I never did name it sorry. Basically she's going full density while standing on the snakes head to see if she can squish it while it's down.
Project Violet |
Bringing this over here to get it off the gameplay thread:
If I'm estimating the Radar Snake's defenses properly, a 2d6 Normal Attack (10STR TK) is not going to do much, at all, to them.
It's an average of 8 Stun and 2 Body per "Blow". It'll never overcome their defenses.
I might be able to pick up rocks and drop them on them, getting another 4-6d6 if I'm lucky, but that's not guaranteed.
Violet's not very effective in this part of the scenario. I'm trusting that there will be something later on where she'll get to shine. I'm cool. :)
Hotaru Hoshiko |
I looked at your sheet just now, and you do have teamwork (only at 8- :(), but if you somehow succeeded on the 8- and the OCV to hit, then you add 2d6 damage to any sort of attack that you coordinate for. That means you add an average of 7 stun and 2 body to Pulse's, Blaze's, Mud's, or Aegis's attacks (or some combination of the above).
Like I said, totally not suggesting you run up and punch things, but I do want to make a point of saying that a -teamwork- punch is free damage, if all those odds are overcome :P
Like, on that last attack if literally anyone other than you helped, we're looking at an average of 7 more body damage.
We will do -nothing- to the Sneks if we don't use teamwork, or bypass their defenses (I assume they're less guarded on the inside :p) in some way. With Aegis probably taking it in the face next round, she can basically wrestle one snake while the other can't do anything lasting to Mud.
That leaves pretty much the whole team to try to splode the one that goes for Aegis and ignore the other while it's a viable option. (Assuming it's another pair of Midgar Zoloms)
Project Violet |
Oh, I get ya, and Teamwork is the very next thing I'll be buying for Violet - it's been difficult for me to figure out ways for her to justify buying it, given the fact that none of her powers work the same way as anyone else's. She's had nothing in terms of "tangible" powers to coordinate with.
(And yes, I know, she could coordinate with her Killer Brain, but it's a literal mind over matter type thing.)
mdt |
Not quite how teamwork works, but close.
You don't add 2d6 to the attack. You add all the stun that gets through defenses together, to determine if it con-stuns them. So if the 2d6 doesn't get through defenses, it doesn't do anything with the teamwork.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Oh. Um... Alright.
My bad.
Carry on with the not-punching not-throwing, then. Unless it's to be a DISTRACTION. Because you still adjust our abilities to hit, if you succeed. :)
mdt |
Sort of, you can make a tunnel, leave it open behind you, and then drag it into the tunnel and collapse both ends. However, nothing stops it from digging out when it wakes up, assuming it doesn't suffocate before that happens.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
I believe the current goals of the party are:
Get the fliers + Pulse Airborne to make us more difficult snektargets.
Get the KO'd snake buried to murder it (if possible).
Saffron "Aegis" Sinclair |
If we've got the snake buried and a tree club I'm ready to go.
mdt |

Apologies to my games. As most if not all of you know, I've been out of work since June 1st, and due to having to get a lawyer involved, it was difficult for me to really hit the pavement for a new job until nearly the end of June. So really I've been very active this month, and all the work earlier in the month is heating up finally. I was swamped this week with phone interviews, in person interviews (2.5 hours from home), and prep work for interviews. Next week is looking busy too. This is all a good thing, but it's left me absolutely exhausted (The whole missing the height on the entrance to the garage right before the interview and banging up my wife's truck cap on the parking garage entrance didn't help either). But things are looking good, I've got 2 really really good jobs and 2-3 other potentials, and the two good ones have asked me for 2nd follow up interviews next week (One 2 weeks after the initial, and the other literally 3-4 hours after the first one, yay!). Anyway, sorry for not being as proactive as I should be to keep the threads up, I'll try to push Sunday (my meat game is tomorrow) to get posts and push things forward.
Hotaru Hoshiko |
Good luck Kitty! Do the thing!
Barry "Blaze" Wind |
Oh, like I'm gonna start complaining :D
Do what you need to do, man. When you're ready for us, I think it's safe to say we'll be here.
