I'd echo your sentiment,although, in my case, it was creative energy constraints, rather than time.
I didn't appreciate how much creative thought would be involved in DMing PBP - I started running four games confident I could make the time commitment. It didn't take long to burn out though. (Which I still feel guilty for!)
Starting much smaller this time around. :)

I disagree. While having the games come to an end is very disappointing, making a clean break is much better than just up and leaving, so at least the players can stop without hurt feelings.
