Please accept my apology if this has been asked before but...
As the Eidolon is an Outsider.
Can someone other than the Summoner heal the Eidolon?
The reason I ask is that there is the feat "Alignment Channel" to allow channel energy to affect outsiders so I assume without it they cannot heal the Eidolon in this manner, Yes?
If that is the case then what about "cure" spells as they state
When laying your hand upon a living creature, you channel positive energy that cures xd8 points of damage...
, in this case would you also need the feat to affect the Eidolon?

Outsiders are living beings, so they are affected by all healing spells.
As for Channel Energy, that's actually a pretty good question. I'd say the alignment channel feat is mostly meant to allow offensive (read: damaging) channeling against outsiders and even the normal channeling should heal any outsider including Eidolons.

Thank you for your reply.
I am not so sure though.
Instead of its normal effect, you can choose to have your ability to channel energy heal or harm outsiders of the chosen alignment subtype.
Emphasis is mine.
It is the same with the "Elemental Channel" feat too.

While I understand why you'd read it as that, I'm fairly certain that text is intended to mean "when channeling negative energy, you may choose to heal evil outsiders and harm good outsiders instead of splitting the effect based on living/undead status. when channeling positive energy, you may choose to heal good outsiders and harm evil outsiders instead of splitting the effect based on living/undead status".

There's another aspect here... think of it as super selective channeling.
You could elect to heal all evil outsiders within the radius without needing to exclude those pesky mortals attacking you.
But I will admit that they put SO MANY exceptions into the summoner and the eidolon that one begins to wonder when normal rules do apply to them!

I'd just say the link between summoner and eidolon makes healing the eidolon possible. Maybe add the restriction that it only works if the summoner is affected by the same channeling attept.
If alignment channel is required, you couldn't heal a neutral eidolon. I don't even think the rules say anything about the eidolon gaining subtypes based on alingment so it would probably be immune to alignment channel no matter what.

I thought it was obvious. Your normal channel energy heals or hurts everybody in it.
If a cleric wants to channel negative energy to deal damage to all outsiders within range, they normally would exclude themselves, but would still damage all their friends. With the alignment channel feat, they don't have to. I thought that much was clear.
Angels have no problem healing themselves with SLA's based on positive energy heal spells.
