The only product I wish to make PRPG-compatible is my website which is the site I use to organize my D&D campaign. At the moment, the website is displaying content for an extremely modified version of the 3.5 rules set. Before I make it Pathfinder Roleplaying Game-compatible it needs a complete and total overhaul as I am starting a new campaign strictly using the Pathfinder system with flavor-based additions written by myself and available for my players to use from my website.
I expect to make the site PRPG-Compatible within two months. |

Nahast: Heroes and Legends brings the unique world of the fantasy webcomic Nahast: Lands of Strife to the Pathfinder rules system. Inspired by the myths and culture of Asia and Mesoamerica, Nahast: Heroes and Legends brings dozens of new races spanning the Five Ages of the world; classes, prestige classes and character options that reflect traditions ancient and recent, including martial arts and a new spellcasting framework, and a complex world of struggling nations whose conflict is the mirror of the eternal war between gods.
Articles in the blog will release the information freely, to be later compiled in revised and expanded PDF books that tie in to the epic story of Nahast: Lands of Strife and its sister prose fiction site Nahast: Chronicles of the 5th Age. |

The Book of Thieves.
Written and Designed by John Wick and Jess Heinig
Not "rogues," who are sissy wanna-bes, but THIEVES.
This is not a book for rogues. This is the thief book. It contains a new character class: "Thief." The thief is a specialist in a particular form of criminal enterprise. None of this "I pick pockets of monsters" or "I open locks on treasure chests." The thief generally doesn't even like going into dungeons because they are dangerous and dirty and filled with things you can't con and sometimes don't even have treasure.
A thief will STEAL YOUR STUFF and he will do it with a smile on his face because your hard-won loot just paid for his ale and whores.
The Book of Thieves includes:
- Rules for a new character class: the thief. Thieves are like wizards and sorcerers: all of them are thieves, but they have "specialty classes." The con man, the greaser, the wire, the thug, etc.
- Rules for building street gangs and guilds.
- Rules for City management and influence.
- A new system for designing capers and confidence crimes (see my previous game, Wilderness of Mirrors for an idea where I'm going with this).
The Book of Thieves will also have the standard slew of new goodies: new Feats, new magic items, new gods to worship (street gods!), and all sorts of surprises. |

Why Publish an Avlis Setting?
Avlis as a setting already exists and has existed for some time. It will continue to exist in whichever incarnation it takes in the coming years. Though it started out as a small project known only to a dozen people, today there are over 500,000 people who have heard of it. The majority of these people are players of Bioware’s Neverwinter Nights (nwn.bioware.com). A search on their message boards will reveal the degree to which Avlis’ existence is common knowledge within that community. Thus, this setting is not simply an amateur submission from an unknown fantasy author who has never shown it in public before. The concept of Avlis is tested and true.
The online incarnation of Avlis through Neverwinter Nights is arguably the most successful persistent world (PW) created with that software. Here are some references in which Bioware has mentioned or featured Avlis:
http://nwn.bioware.com/players/profile_persistent_worlds_avlis.html
http://nwn.bioware.com/players/profile_copap_part1.html
http://nwn.bioware.com/links/viewcat.html?c=10
Avlis has also been featured on many unofficial fan sites, such as Neverwinter Connections, where it is rated the number one PW:
http://www.neverwinterconnections.com/
A google search on “The World of Avlis” reveals over 6,000 hits:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22The+World+of+Avlis%22&btnG= Google+Search
Of course not every one of the 500,000 members of the Neverwinter Nights community would be likely to buy an Avlis sourcebook. Out of those 500,000 people, maybe 10,000 have tried Avlis.
Another piece of market research can be seen here:
http://www.avlis.org/viewtopic.php?t=44936
In this non-scientific poll, respondents were asked “Would you buy a hard cover d20 System Avlis Sourcebook?” There were 281 responses as of January 21st, 2006. 152 said “Yes”. 66 said “Maybe”, and 19 said they would buy more than one copy a piece.
In short, an Avlis sourcebook should be published because it already has an established market. The editor of Dragon Magazine commented in a seminar at GenCon2004 that any sourcebook selling 1,000 copies is considered wildly successful. For Avlis, the first 100 to 200 copies are going to be extremely easy to sell because no advertising is necessary. In effect, the publisher is getting a 100 to 200-copy jump on that 1,000 mark. Depending on the publisher’s quality and market penetration, this could go a long way.
Introduction: The World of Avlis
Sometime around 1977, a group of teenagers and kids in the back woods of New Jersey’s pine barrens began playing a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) campaign that would last for decades in one form or another. Today, in 2009, The World of Avlis is ready to take the next step towards release and become a published Campaign Setting. This document will give a brief overview of Avlissian history, races, and magic. It will then briefly describe the unique features of the world and the advantages of taking it to publication.
The history of Avlis is divided up into several phases, each of which can be played as a separate campaign. The phases proceed in order from creation to the present playing time of the world:
Age of Creation
Age of Gods
The Fairy War
The Great War
The Orcish Destruction
The Age of Immortals (Age of Peace)
The Age of Rebirth
The Second Fairy War
Each phase has extensive histories and qualities, and is characterized by a general theme. During the Age of Creation, the planet was formed and populated by innocent nature spirits. This peaceful era was broken by the arrival of a demonic figure with nine prisoners, who became deities with the help of the Supreme (creator of Avlis) in order to rid the place of the demon and the spawn he was creating. After the destruction of the demon-god the Age of Gods follows with the creation of the nine major races by the new gods. The time of dawning with the nine mortal races proceeded relatively peacefully until the introduction of a sub-race of fey created by the goddess Titania. This phase of history is denoted by odd battles between the two fairy races, contesting over the fact that O’Ma’s fairies were able to interbreed with the other races of Avlis, which the Titanians saw as a disgrace. Soon, this fighting was capitalized upon by the orcish race that saw an opportunity to eliminate both fairy types. Unfortunately for the orcs, not only did the fey races declare a truce in the face of mutual destruction, but their actions in driving their war too far lead to other nations banding together against them. The Great War era is perhaps the darkest in the historical sequence. The orcish nation of Dobrekan was uprooted and all its inhabitants were chased clear across the continent by the joint might of the dwarves, elves, and fairies, who had summoned metallic dragons to their aid. Just as the orcs were about to be driven into the sea, the neutral god, Mikon, created evil dragons from the stones of Avlis to help them, and the war was drawn to a standstill until the orcish mages produced the next phase of history: The Orcish Destruction. This cataclysm resulted from an evocation spell gone awry. The orcish mages were working to create a massive invocation to be used as a weapon to turn the tide of the war, but the weapon misfired and wound up creating an explosion that devastated much of the continent and killed creatures on both sides of the war, as well as those who were not involved. The settling of the dust gave birth to the next phase, where the nations were at peace due to their frail conditions. During this period, the number of deities and races diversified, and soon the Age of Rebirth began in full. This age is characterized by several smaller wars, culminating in the destruction and reformation of the mage orders under Avlis’ first god of magic who ascended during this time. From here, the historical sequence proceeds into the current phase, where new alliances between the races stoke the fires of fairy hatred once more into full-scale war. Just as this terrible new conflict is coming to an end, the material for the sourcebook ends its coverage.
Avlis Races
Avlis makes use of most of the standard 3.5 Edition D&D races with the incorporation of some newer (and older) versions. In all, there are 30 playable PC races described in the sourcebook, and they are grouped according to two major categories: Major races and Minor races. The major races are the original nine groups that were created by “The Nine” original deities of Avlis. Each of the major races loosely corresponds to an alignment, which describes the average outlook for that race, though individual characteristics and alignments vary greatly. In general, on Avlis there are no alignment restrictions on which races may be chosen. The alignment of a race merely gives a reference point for how the player’s alignment choice will affect their character’s relationship with most members of their race:
Lawful Good – Dwarves
Neutral Good – Fairies
Chaotic Good – Elves
Lawful Neutral – Dracon
True Neutral – Humans
Chaotic Neutral – Changelings
Lawful Evil – Orcs
Neutral Evil – Shaahesk
Chaotic Evil – Goblinoids
The minor races constitute the rest of the playable character types and are generally more diverse in their alignments. Examples include halflings, gnomes, gnolls, and minotaurs.
Within each race, there are often subraces that can be played. The best example of this is with the fairy races. There are quite a few to choose from. One major theme of fairy races is their ability to interbreed with other races, especially humans and elves. Thus, there are special playable races such as half-nymph, half-dryad, half-nixie, and half-sylph.
Magic on Avlis
No other force has been as influential or pervasive in the history and events of the world of Avlis as magic itself. Since the beginning of time magic has closely been associated with the sagas that unfold throughout the world. Upon Avlis there are two distinctions between spellcasters: divine spellcasters, whose powers are granted by their deities, and arcane spellcasters, also referred to as “mortal casters” who shape their energies directly from the Vortices of Magic, which are the wellsprings of all magical energy upon Avlis, flowing into the world from the Outer Planes. All creatures who utilize magic, gods included, are powerless without access to their respective Vortex, and every time an individual casts a spell, uses a magic item or taps a spell-like ability, they are utilizing the raw magical energies generated by these sources. There are two known sources of magical energy on Avlis: The Divine Magic Vortex, and the Vortex of Mortal Magic.
By altering the origin of either one of these vortices, the nature of magic and events on Avlis can be altered. With DM intervention, the outcome of spell effects and abilities can be colored by the alignment of the plane emanating the magic vortex in question. Because of this, many organizations within Avlis vie for control of the vortices. Throughout history, there was never a single deity controlling either of the vortices, until now. Andrinor, the first god of Mortal Magic on Avlis came to power late during the Age of Rebirth and has reconstituted in his own image the orders that used to regulate magic. For many, this is a welcome change. For some, it is a source of contention that is bound to fuel the turning of Avlis remaining eras.
Unique Aspects of the Setting
Design Principles
Avlis was designed to take advantage of two specific qualities that are not often seen in d20 campaign settings, or even official Wizards of the Coast releases. Chiefly, the world is designed to mesh well with any other fantasy roleplaying d20 supplement or fantasy world, which is historically the best-selling kind of RP world.
One disadvantage of the “new and innovative” d20 world approach is that the book must stand in isolation because no other material can mix with it without destroying the tone and feel of the work. As an industry, this hurts the sales of other d20 sourcebooks, and ultimately this affects the original sourcebook, causing it to sell fewer copies. Avlis is designed to work well with many additional classes, races, feats, dungeons, and adventures available in other d20 publications. On its own, it contains a good number of prestige classes, spells, and races that can be extracted and used in nearly any other setting.
The second design principle lies within the world’s fiction. Traditionally, questions of morals and ethics are extremely cut and dry in roleplaying games. “Good” kills “Evil”. Things are either bad or not bad. Law goes overboard on organization and chaos is strictly flippant. Cookie cutter monsters have horrible tactics and love to throw themselves into suicide missions, and heaven forbid they show any personality! Avlis’ design is decidedly not like this. The world responds heavily to alignment, but not in an absolute sense. Alignment is used as a guide to determine whether a being is selfish or selfless, intellectual or compassionate. Every creature on Avlis is self-aware. Each believes that it is “good” and that it is doing the “right thing”, but from its point of view there are those that would see its plans ruined. Even the history of Avlis has multiple points of view on what occurred and why it did so. The races that make up the population are never “cookie cutter monsters”, but instead they are beings with civilizations, motivations and concepts all their own. To illustrate this, the orcish race on Avlis has been retooled to be an intellectually advanced and stimulating race, which accomplishes its goals mainly through political duress, and not brute force.
This is only one example, and all in all these factors play into the main theme of Avlis: connection. Every decision in the world has a ripple effect that permeates into other things. The players of this world are constantly beset by moral dilemmas that require them to think about the results of their actions on other parties. |

Exploring the stranger side of fantasy, my products will highlight the more "niche" areas from Planes both fantastic and bizarre to psionics, pact magic, and perhaps other new forms of magic. Plus as a player who has almost never played a core race, I plan to publish products for those monstrous PCs out there. (Minotaur monks rejoice!) All our products will not only include a unique style of content, but also be in a new rich media ebook format that will push the boundaries of electronic publishing far beyond what PDFs could ever achieve. |

Excavated Esotera is a website dedicated to providing new and converted material for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. My first project is to convert "the rest" of the SRD; primarily the Epic and Divine rules. Basically, that which nobody else seems interested in doing. Eventually, I plan to also convert the content from the book of variant rules that inspired the name of my site, as well as starting to post new material. I may also start converting other old Open Game Content, especially material whose original author/publisher seems to have no interest in converting.

Metal & Myth LLC www.dredan.com

Dredan Realm of Metal & Myth is a campaign setting based on the original 3.5 system and utilizes rules from the Traveller RPG (T20). This would be a great addition to the Pathfinder series of books because it would essentially bridge Pathfinder into a place it has not gone to yet...the stars. Dredan is a material plane that introduces the rules for running a campaign for characters to play either futuristic or fantasy all in one. For lack of better term, Dredan Realm of Metal & Myth could be a segway for the Pathfinder community to bridge the gap of fantasy and Sci-Fi together.
What does Dredan Realm of Metal & Myth offer:
A brand new material plane
a) 28 new systems
b) 75 Planets with descriptions
c) Rules to help govern characters that want to bridge the Sci-Fi gap
d) 3 new deities complete with domain spells
e) 4 new races
f) New realm specific prestige classes
g) New items, spells and feats
Dredan Realm of Metal & Myth is already published under the 3.5 OGL and it would be easily adapted for Pathfinder to give a Pathfinder Modern or Sci-Fi addition to target those audiences that want a different "flavor" to their campaign. |

Nobis is a fantasy campaign setting for use with version 3.5 of the world's most popular role-playing game and other OGL products.
Nobis allows you to step into a world unlike any other. Nobis: The City-States introduces a region both blessed and cursed by rapidly advancing technology, commerce and democratic rule. And Nobis: The City-States Player's Guide gives players all the tools they'll need to survive in this region, including new feats.
Other features include the mongrels, a new race for players. Outcast from gnoll society, the mongrels make a crude living on the dangerous streets of the City-States. Our Fencing Discipline, which pioneers a class-neutral combat style, and Simplecraft, a revolutionary source of arcane power that any character can use, provides new twists on classic roles. Finally, an innovate look at firearms integrates black powder technology with standard high fantasy.
The Nobis line of products provides fantastic new options for any urban-based campaign! |

PCGen is a free RPG character generator and maintenance program for d20 systems. Download your free copy today.
PCGen allows players and DMs to create player characters, and subsequently maintain the character sheets in electronic format, tracking both the character statistics, their equipment and possessions, and other information related to the characters. The software makes sure that these characters are consistent with the d20 System rules.
Character sheets can be exported in various formats, including XML, HTML, and PDF formats. This allows character data to be exported in datablock format similar to that used in pre-built adventures, or character sheet format similar to the official D&D character sheets.
All of the data the program uses, and all of the character data, is stored as plain text files, making it possible to add custom rules, or modify existing ones, by writing new data files.
Starting with version 5.16.0, PCGen ships with a Data Set Converter that will assist in the conversion of older user created data sets to the latest version of PCGen.

I make one (and hopefully soon a series) of applications for the iPhone to aid gamers. My one app that is currently, publicly, available is RPG Touch: Grimoire, which is a spellbook application based on the d20 SRD. My intent is to both release more apps for the iPhone for gamers beyond the simple dice roller applications, and to make sure they support both d20 and Pathfinder once it is out of beta.
Other tools may take a similar form of look up utility, or a more dynamic nature like a character sheet, or inventory tracker, but not an interactive game.
My hope with this license is to be able to tell my customers that the application is in fact compatible with Pathfinder, so they know what they are getting.

Originally started as a developmental project by the Universe Construction Company (UCC) for TSR, Inc. in 1992, the project has evolved beyond what TSR (or even WIZARDS OF THE COAST) expected, and continues to grow several years later.
The LSJ Campaign will feature High Fantasy.
Creatures and settings that can only exist in our imagination are frequently encountered. Emphasis is placed on enabling and maintaining a spirit of wonder, surprise, amazement, fear, and glory during game play. Consideration of mundane practicalities and everyday life bookkeeping will exist but will be kept to a minimum. "Anything is possible" in this corner of the multiverse.
The LSJ Campaign will feature High Magic.
The World of RAIA is full of magic, both known and lost, and can be described as being a High Magic setting. It is important to realize that a High Magic setting does not necessarily mean that there will be magic items around every corner. There will be a logical reason why magic items exist in tournaments, and it will be up to the campaign staff to make sure that the quality and quantity of magic made available in the campaign is up to our exacting standards.
The LSJ Campaign will feature High Intrigue.
Not everything is black and white in the LSJ Campaign. It is extremely important for players/PCs to determine who is working in their best interests and who is not. There will be many shades of gray in this intrigue-oriented campaign. Players have the ability to "take sides" in differing aspects of society as well as be tempted by darker forces. Any action or choice made by the player characters could have several repercussions, both positive and/or the negative. Not all PC actions lead to happy endings, but not all actions will result in failure either. The actions and choices made by the PCs during various LSJ tournaments will result in a variety of tournament conclusions that can (and will) affect the campaign story lines.
The LSJ Campaign will feature High Role-playing.
While combat is a tool to supply a dramatic element to the campaign, it won't be the rule, nor will it always be obligatory. It is possible to go through some LSJ Tournaments without encountering combat of any sort. Avoiding combat situations through the use of imagination, ingenuity, and role-playing usually rewards the players rather than penalizes them.
The campaign staff has several goals in mind in order to make the LSJ Campaign a fun, playable environment. One of the reasons for LSJ's previous success was the ability to weave a tapestry of grand-scale storytelling. This is an aspect that is being cultivated and continued. This won't mean that smaller plots will be unavailable. Quite the contrary; anything that is learned/discovered in one tournament could be very important in another.
One goal will be to meet the players' needs for varied goals and desires through the Meta-Game Activity /Organization opportunities. There will be a number of developed meta-organizations available and ready for PCs to join. But these meta-activities aren't the only thing that will be made available for players. Whenever possible, the direction of the campaign will be determined by PC actions that influence tournament outcomes. This is the most important way to ensure that players know that their direct participation or non-participation in an event have an influence on the history and future of LSJ, as if they were playing in a home campaign.
A lot of hard work is being done to make the LSJ Campaign a great place to be. If you have any constructive comments or questions, please feel free to email any of the campaign staff.
Thank you.

Publisher of the innovative and popular "Behind the Spells" line of pdfs, Tricky Owlbear plans on bringing the same creativity to a line of locale-style products that rely on the Pathfinder rules set. Each locale will be designed with juicy bits for both players and GMs and will include new crunch like spells, magic items, and character traits (if your PC chooses to be from that locale) for the former while plot hooks and a map will enhance usage for the latter.
Other products are likely but as yet undetermined until we've had a chance to absorb the finished Pathfinder rules. |

The newest version of Campaign Suite - now dubbed Campaign Developer Suite - is soon to hit the market.
In addition, I'd like to maintain an Open Content wiki on the twin rose website, and I would like to use pathfinder as the baseline open content. Indeed, I hope to eventually have campaign worlds and more available here.
I do business with such companies as Necromancer games, and hope to have gaming products available through retail under them, including a line on Fanaticism in gaming worlds. Most of my products, however, are available online. The original Campaign Suite had almost 100,000 downloads, and sold aproximately 10,000 copies. CSX, the second iteration, had about 30,000 downloads and about 5,000 copies sold worldwide. |
