I'm tired of having to read posts where the self-appointed board police insults me, all the while complaining that I cannot be nice about things.

Awwww... poor KaeYoss! Rest assured there are those of us out there that enjoy your commitment to nastiness. Hey, someone has to do it... screw 'em!

EDIT: Besides I've always seen it as 'cynicism', but that doesn't change my opinion about it. Keep up the good work!

Try not to take things personally. You can not control what others say.

I enjoy your posts and I hope you keep doing it.

Opinions are fine. Insults are not.

Masika wrote:

That's kinda hard with personal insults. They are, after all, personal.

Masika wrote:

Some people apparently are allowed to insult everyone they want. Seems like Paizo's playing favourites.

Are you flagging posts you consider personally insulting?

He said he was, but just so it's clear what he's referring to, he popped in to threadcrap the latest 4e conversation. I flagged him for threadcrapping and asked that we get a threadcrapping flag because KaeYoss is a raging dick every time he posts in a 4e thread.

So, that was the personal insult: KaeYoss is a raging dick in the 4e threads. It's annoying, childish, and unfortunately true. He's fine everywhere else, generally amusing and interesting even, but for some reason he sees a 4e thread and thinks its an appropriate place to vent his spleen. He's just about the last of the threadcrapping 4e trolls - just about everyone else has enough respect and maturity to limit their posts about how WotC killed their dog/ruined the game/etc. to conversations about that topic. KaeYoss will poke into a thread about whether ability x grants a +1 or +2 to try and derail it with one of his tantrums.

So, yeah, I delivered a personal insult because it accurately described his behavior in the 4e sections of the boards (and, which is itself, the breach of the cardinal rule of the Paizo forum), and if you think it's necessary to ban me, I understand. I've just become frustrated with posters like KaeYoss and am trying to provoke moderation rather than flamewars in response.

I'm normally not a big user of the flag system because either (a) the insults are directed at me and I've done something to provoke them or (b) my response is as bad as the post that is flagworthy. But, at this point, I just want to be able to come here and talk about 4e in peace without having posters come in to puke out the same old bile and anger.

Scarab Sages

Honesty... I just do not read the 4e rules.

No problems. :)

Yes.

Yep, that's what I'm referring to.

Sebastian wrote:

And dick is an insult. I don't mean Mister Boards Police infers that I'm a private detective here.

He says he's flagging, but it seems he doesn't believe in that, instead goes for the Life Achievement Award in Hypocrisy by breaking board rules as a reaction to what he believes is someone else breaking the board rules and still managing to feel superior about it.

Sebastian wrote:

And he's lying, too, as you can see here.

Sebastian wrote:

See evidance A. It's nothing of a plain lie. Or maybe exaggeration to get his point across and justify his insults.

If I were entering every single 4e thread and replied with how I think 4e sucks, he might be right (in his assessment that I'm a troll, not in his reaction by becoming a troll himself), but I don't (maybe I should, for a couple of days, to give him what he's asking for)

Sebastian wrote:

I saw a thread where someone voiced his opinion that wizards is selling errata in disguise and replied to that sentiment, saying that such behavior is despicable. I didn't attack 4e, I didn't attack wizards personally, I didn't attack his mom. I voiced an opinion about their behavior. If you hunt down the thread and look at it, you'll find a curious lack of exclamations like "therefore, wizards are a bunch of greedy whoresons who should be put against a wall and shot" on my part.

Sebastian wrote:

The rest of the sentence would be irrelevant, because I think it's part of the board rules that no one is allowed to break board rules, even if it is in response to someone else breaking the guidelines, and especially not in response to incrorrectly thinking that others are breaking guidelines.

"You insulted and hit my wife! I demand satisfaction!"
"Sure, go ahead, that's my wife over there."

Sebastian wrote:

I've become tired with Sebastian (not many others act like him, at least none I could think of) who try to incite flamewars and then lie through their teeth, claiming they tried to "provoke moderation" by breaking the guidelines and insulting people.

Anyone else have troubles seeing how anyone could think that this might work? Avoiding flamewars through flamebaiting?

Sebastian wrote:

So very sorry for entereing every single thread with a prewritten responses (to increase my trolling abilitiy. Call me a wartroll, they've been ahead of their times by being a monstrous humanoid!) insulting 4e and everything about it, including all its fans. If that caused you sufficient mental distress that you have to leash out and break the guidelines, that's all my fault, and your violations are totally justified.

Oh, wait, I didn't do that. Tricky of you to try to trick people into believing I do that. It almowt worked, even on me.

Luckily I caugtht it in time. You got nothing. You insulted someone and that breaks the forum guidelines. The reasons for that are irrelevant - if someone breaks the guidelines, you're supposed to flag it, and if Paizo agrees with you, they'll say something. I know it works, I've seen it happen. If you do anything else, especially insulting everyone, you're not doing the right thing, and nothing can justify that.

If you're tired about people complaining about wizards doing dumb stuff again and again, you might want to call them and tell them to stop. Because as long as they keep doing that, I'll keep commenting on that. It's not against the board rules.

And that would get you banned for sure, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't bother.

Also, though there's clearly some hyperbole when it comes to claiming you pop in to every 4e thread and smear poop on the walls, why go in there to antagonize people? If you know your posts increase the bad feelings on a part of the message board that has some pretty deep scars from bad feelings, why not just ignore the 4e folder?

Also, Sebastian, it's not appropriate to call people "dicks" on Paizo's message boards. I'm on vacation and away from my moderating tools, but I wouldn't be surprised if that earns you a time out.

I presume both of you are adults.

Perhaps you should both put a little more effort into acting like it.

Understood. Next time I'll just flag his trolling and move on. Sorry to provoke such a bout of whinging.

Edit - a threadcrapping flag would be most helpful - I'm not the only one who is flagging KaeYoss's 4e posts because he can't behave himself. I've given up on entering into the "who's a bigger meanie" debates and would rather just be able to report the repeat threadcrappers. Otherwise, I have a habit of flaming those whose dick-like behavior warrants such a response.

While I don't know what's going on in particular here I wouldn't mind an ignore feature also (although it's probably too hard to get working). I posted here awhile ago and was instantly humm.. well how to put it delicately....... shown the door by 4e avengers. Now the funny part is I wasn't attacking 4e in my post I was being what's called SARCASTIC, they just didn't like my attitude. I thought about complaining at the time, but decided to just do my own /ignore thing and well ignore it. But an official function would be cool. Was that rambling? Anyway feel free to ignore me! hahahaha!!!! I'm SO funny! *coughs*

I'm opposed to an ignore function.

When something I don't like comes on the radio, I change the station.

When something is coming on television I don't care for, I switch the channel.

If I don't want to read what a certain poster has to say, I scroll down.
