Nym Vallidorn |

Nym will enter the kitchen with the rest of the group, look around for a moment, and hopefully depart with his companions for town.

Opening the door Wren feels for a moment she has seen the place before.
This is an empty privy once used by the guards. Nothing of interest remains within today.
She than realizes that it looks similar but not identical to the room she used below. Just when you turn you see her take in some gaps of air.
while you turn around you notice some letters written in blood on the wall
W
R
E
N
Wren seems to go pale - but all seems safe and ordinary.

All
Please let me know of anything you want to do in Ravengro. I think it is Sunday - so no shops open. I assume you will be all healed up next morning - so you will restRt full HP and with all spells.
Feel free to chat with the father, go to the pub, chat with Lorrimors daughter, etc. If you don't post anything, then I will just forward to some 'dreams' later on today and move forward.
You also have the Spirit Planchette that I don't think was used yet this day.
What else?
you take your precious with you - once more back in town you see your name written in blood. It sends some shudder down your spine. It is like if the Splatterman knows you got his spell book.
Let me know if you want to do anything specific back in town in regard to your encounter with Father Charlatan.
Not sure about healing powers - but there was a wand of CLW on offer in the temple. Might be good if the party buys it for you. Your spells act like positive energy and you can hurt haunts with touch attacks - but that takes away healing spells from you.
Feel also free to brew some new potions. If you need herbs or other stuff - the woman selling them should be able to supply you even on a Sunday.
Welcome back. Hope you can post when we go to the next level down.
thanks for all your keeping track. need to add some XP again but you are still off from next level.
I try not to frustrate you too often with the haunts. There are still so,e opportunities where muscle really is important. Part 2 is less 'haunted'

Wren the FeatherMage |

If Wren can find the time, I think she wants to spend time with her new spellbook, reading her precious.
She will, unless someone else needs her and all her wonderful insights, will nest up and begin to read. She might even see about copying over some spells (to or fro) between spellbooks once she knows what is inside it.
Finally! Some free time with my book! But I sure do wish people would stop writing my name in blood around...they probably want *my* book back! HA!

Galadan Teresthin |

I think there were some items in the prisoners' vault, but I can't remember what they were... lol
Galadan still feels a little odd about the strange presence that had been watching him from behind, and had touched his shoulder. He goes to the Temple of Pharasma, if it is open, and requests to see Father Grimburrow.

Aldous Preklikin |

There was a bunch of stuff that has been discovered, a list of which is included here
Not including consumables (most of which were 'split' between various party members), each PC's share of the loot comes to 340.2 GP.
The only undivided loot is the pile of 'healing supplies' which were found (which I assume will go to Andrea?), and all of the bolts that were found in the cache (which we really should allocate to various people, rather than keeping them as a nebulous 'common pool').
@Andrea: Don't forget, amongst other things, a Wand of CLW (15 charges) was found...

Galadan
Father Grimburrow hears your story and he looks concerned at you.
"Good to hear you that you managed to defeat the Piper. But I'm now really afraid about the Father Charlatan. He has been a trickster in life and never worked openly. If you set him free he might be anywhere now. Sure he is still in Harrowstone.
Any suggestions how I can help you."

Galadan
The posting this morning was in a rush. You will have to come up with ideas (or one of your comrades if they are with you) as I can't do this for you even if Father Grimburrow should be fully capable to come up with ideas. These are your obstacles to overcome.
Wren
The whole spell book is pretty moldy and many spells are lost forever. You do find a total of nine spells that can still be copied.
Comprehend Language
Dispel Magic
False Life
Gust of Wind
Illusory Script
Levitate
Mage Armor
Magic Missile
Summon Monster
You will find ink etc. at Lorrimors place. Please make a spell craft check for every spell you want to transfer in your spell book. The final cost for copying can then be taken out of your reward.

![]() |

Nym, Andrea
I'm not sure which of these spells are on the Witch or Magus list. If you also want to copy some of the spells you will have to convince Wren to let you use the book. You should have noticed that she is pretty pocessive of that book.
I would prefer some decent role-play instead of a diplomacy roll from you or a will save from Wren. You just need to be convincing for her.
Once you managed that - the same rules apply for you in regard to copying spells.

Nym Vallidorn |

Nym will spend a few hours after shaking off the dreadfull feelings of Harrowstone walking around outside of town, particularly looking for interesting looking birds, or rather birds with feathers he thinks Wren would find interesting...and using Mage Hand to pluck said feathers when possible. Assuming he is successful in his hunt, he'll try to get ten or so good samples together.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 (having removed the chain shirt while hunting, keeping it in his pack, resting against a near by tree he feels confident he can find again.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Andrea Greenholt |

re brewing potions..I was wondering how much money have we aqquired so far(thanks Aldous)..Andrea can brew a new healing potion in 2 hours..but she needs 25 Gp worth of ingredients for each one...and she will not use money lenders. Also not interested in copying any spells at the moment.
Andrea takes the time to assemble the surprisingly large amount of healing equipment she has aqquired during the expeditions into the Prison
"Well it's all useful stuff" she murmurs "I only hope it doesnt end up running out"
She looks to the Others.."Can I have a hundred gold pieces from what we found do you think? I need to buy some ingredients from the Herbalist."

From PFS SRD:
A wizard can also add a spell to his book whenever he encounters one on a magic scroll or in another wizard's spellbook. No matter what the spell's source, the wizard must first decipher the magical writing (see Arcane Magical Writings). Next, he must spend 1 hour studying the spell. At the end of the hour, he must make a Spellcraft check (DC 15 + spell's level). A wizard who has specialized in a school of spells gains a +2 bonus on the Spellcraft check if the new spell is from his specialty school. If the check succeeds, the wizard understands the spell and can copy it into his spellbook (see Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook). The process leaves a spellbook that was copied from unharmed, but a spell successfully copied from a magic scroll disappears from the parchment.
Costs:
Table: Spell Level and Writing Costs
Spell Level Writing Cost
0 5 gp
1 10 gp
2 40 gp
3 90 gp
Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook
Once a wizard understands a new spell, he can record it into his spellbook.
Time: The process takes 1 hour per spell level. Cantrips (0 levels spells) take 30 minutes to record.
Space in the Spellbook: A spell takes up one page of the spellbook per spell level. Even a 0-level spell (cantrip) takes one page. A spellbook has 100 pages.
When Wren has the time (using 140 gp from her ongoing monies), she will try to learn and copy over the following spells:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 vs DC 18 Dispel Magic
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 vs DC 17 False Life
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 vs DC 16 Summon Monster 1
"What a delightful new book I found! I love it!"

Aldous Preklikin |

Right, so, I assume that the 100gp Andrea takes for 'supplies' is removed before we split the loot? If so, we each get 323gp, 5sp, 3cp.
Also, since no-one spoke-out against it, I assume that Andrea is taking the 'healing supplies' (not to be confused with the herbal ingredients for potions that she is buying) that we discovered?

Aldous Preklikin |

Oh, I realise we won't actually be selling things until the shops open tomorrow.
The items to be sold are the ones that have prices next to them on the spreadsheet; all other items have been (at least tangentially) claimed by various PCs.
I misunderstood with regard to the cash that you were using. Back to 340gp and 2sp it is ;-)

Galadan Teresthin |

Galadan nods to Father Grimburrow.
"The presence of this Father Charlatan does indeed worry me. It seems he has made some sort of personal attempt on me. I felt his presence strongly within the prison, and I do not believe that that presence has left me yet. Can you use your divine magic to see if the Charlatan left some mark on me?"

Andrea Greenholt |

Having secured her ingredients Andrea returns to the house and sets her cauldrons on the hearth.Soon the Kitchen is filled with some quite interesting smells..none of which are repulsive and the sound of her humming as she works..
It takes 2 hours for Andrea to create a potion of CLW

Wren
Oops - I forgot to add the level of Summon Monster - it was Summon monster IV ...
Your check was high enough - so you either need to pay more or I reduce it to Summon Monster I as it was my fault. I'm not checking for how many hours in the day are left.
Aldous
I don't think we need to role-play selling stuff. Just assume you can sell all without problems next morning.

Father Grimburrow investigates you closely. You see his brows even more for rowed as normal. He then casts a spell that you recognize as Detect Undead.
His face looks even more grim as before.
You see that he tries to channel positive energy - but the look in his face looks halfhearted when he starts and rather blank once he has finished.
"Having left a mark on you - that is a slight understatement. You brought the Father Charlatan with you. He mockingly seems to standing just behind you. But he always has been a trickster.
He seems to be not active - so I can't affect him. I also don't know what triggers him to become active. But if this happens you might be in danger - deadly danger. Prepare for that as far as you can. Try to have someone watching over you at all times.
If it happens here I'm sure I'm strong enough to overcome the Father - but you probably won't want to spent the rest of your time here with me.
The blessing of Pharasma be with you and watch out for you.
Before you leave he casts a Bless on you.

Thod, running Pacificon this weekend. Will be available to fix and re-cost the scribing of the SMIV on Monday. Ran Ghenett Manor (good fun) and the Grand Melee tonight. Lots of tables. Good times. More on the morrow. :)
Apologies for the delay, I'm into this, just so much to do.

![]() |

I hope you are not waiting for input from my side as I wait for yours. If I don't hear back from Galadan, then I forward to the night.
Maybe I forgot Nym - everyone else still waiting - shout out.
No problem to get the feathers.
I wouldn't go to often on your own to the country-side / close to the grave yard.

Aldous Preklikin |

Aldous intends to spend the day resting and recuperating at the Professor's house, curling-up with the copy of 'On Verified Madness' that Hastur made for him, and trying to make sense of the events of the last day or so...

Galadan Teresthin |

He returns home with a heavy heart.
"Well, we have a problem. Or rather, I have a problem. I've picked up a spare ghost, who followed us home. Father Charlatan himself is lurking behind me. Not sure what can be done about it right now."

![]() |

The news from Galadan is disturbing and you all have trouble to find a good nights sleep. Nightmares haunt you. The Prison comes alive again - it is burning once more. Burning skulls are floating around the Walls and seem to follow you.
Nym wakes up with sweat all over - remembering only too well when he exploded into a fireball in the inn.
The effect on Aldous seems more subtle - it is a reminder for him what he lost.
For Galadan the skulls following him have the look of Father Charlatan.
Wren sees boiling blood dripping from the skulls and forming her name on the floor. Kevin freezes in his dream - paralysed he looks in vain as they harass his comrades.
Andrea sees herself barehanded fighting the skulls. Why are the others not helping her.
You realise next morning that not everything has been dreams. The weather has changed and if mocking you the temperatur has risen to the temperature of a good hot summer day.
You take your breakfast in privacy before you go to the meeting.
Your Trust score drops by 1 point as the citizens seem all affected. I think your total should be 34 now as I missed the drop for the morning you went to Ravengro - I will check and update.

Meeting at the town hall
As the magnitude of eerie events in Ravengro grows, the town's citizens begin growing increasingly nervous and frightened. The town council calls for a meeting at the town hall to discuss the citizens' fears and address possible solutions, hoping that such a display of authority will calm everyone down and buy some time—perhaps enough for a messenger to reach one of the larger neighboring cities for help.
Your fame has spread in Ravengro and most citizens look up to you as possible heroes or rescuer for them. Your are therefore special guests.
When the meeting begins at sunset, the town hall is packed to standing room only, with over 60 villagers inside the building's central meeting room and many more gathered in the hall outside. Everyone demands solutions and shares reports of their own eerie encounters until the councilors enter the room and move up to the podium to address the crowd.
You are invited up to the podium to share it with the councillors.

![]() |

The town hall is 50 by 50 feet. There is a large 15 feet wide double door in the South and the first 10 feet in the North is occupied by the podium which is 5 feet above the other floor.
What I need from everyone:
Any last action you did the evening before if not yet posted.
Anything ahead of the meeting. It is early in the morning - keep this in mind in regard what is possible or not.
Where do you want to stand during the meeting. All of you are invited to the podium but I assume if you have at least one 'leader' on the podium, then you are fine. The room is 50 by 50 feet - that would make a grid from A1 to J10. A1 is the South-West corner. A9 to J10 is the podium.

Nym Vallidorn |

Realizing that it probably wasn't the brightest idea to be out and about outside of town alone, Nym will head back in, satisfied with what he's managed to collect.
In the morning he tries shaking his head to clear away the residual feelings of the bad dreams...which accomplishes little. Next an attempt is made to drown them in strong coffee which also proves ineffective. Contemplating taking a cue from Kevin, Nym decides to stay sober at least long enough to get through this town meeting.
While waiting for sunset to arrive, Nym studies his spell book for the day, and spends the rest of it cooped up in Lorromir's library. Enjoying the silent company of the dusty tomes.
Leaving armor and obvious weapons behind, he arrives at the town hall with his cane sword, charming personality, and a practiced smile for the peasants. During the meeting he stands at the podium, to one side of the front. call it B9 if I'm imagining the grid right.

Galadan Teresthin |

I am trying to determine if the position of where we sit is symbolically meaningful, (like in a political debate). If it isn't, Galadan will sit somewhere in the middle. G10 or so. He is dressed in his fine black outfit, with his tophat, but leaving the chainmail armor at the house.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Pacificon was good. Glad it's over but met more than a few new (really good) players and judges and re-introduced the game to a group of old friends.
Now, let's get Wren back into things....
Last night:
Approaching bedtime, Wren will bring her bird and book and create a little nest, sleeping not far from Andrea.
Wren doesn't quite feel like being alone right now. That she keeps seeing her name written in blood *might* have something to do with it.
She sleeps with a gentle (if occasionally troubled) cooing sound.
* * *
This morning:
Wren will spend some time with her spellbook(s), re-learning some magics for the day.
She pecks at her food, not really interested in eating too much.
* * *
The Town Meeting:
Wren isn't likely to be near the podium, but in the back where she can look upon her flock (and 'friends'), standing on J10 (back corner) if possible.
She will spend the walk over to the hall casting prestidigitation to get her feathers looking beautifully preened and puffy. Her friends would expect such.
Before the meeting, she will be gab a bit with whichever townsperson she can trap in a corner or without an easy exit, rattling off everything about what they learned and gossiping to high heck about the former Warden and his wife.
"Oh yeah, she's a looker alright! You should see the hair she has in the afterlife. Did she never bathe when she lived? And this town really needs someone who does better gowns! Her deathsgown is 'ghastly'." Wren titters at her joke...surely no one else would.
Anyhoot, someone might let loose with some information:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 Diplomacy
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 Knowledge Local (for knowing anything new over the last few days?)

Don't try to metagame too much into it. It will be resolved soon enough. Always a problem if the GM asks questions like position, etc.

The mob grows quiet as Councilman Hearthmount begins to speak, assuring the citizens that they are looking into solutions.
"Welcome citizens of Ravengro. We know you feel unsettled but believe me - all is under control. The occurrences that happen lately are just temporarily.
Just yesterday we had a group of esteemed adventurers returning from an expedition to Harrowstone and they tell me that there shouldn't be anything to fear for Ravengro.
Maybe they even have some solutions for us. May I ask one of them to step forward and tell the citizens that there is nothing to fear please?"
The mood in the town hall gets a little bit calmer again.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Poor Wren...so misunderstood.
Oh! They want use to speak!? Surely my 'friends' have requested to hear my voice. I will tend to them...they would be lost without me.
If someone wants to beat me to the front to speak, please do...otherwise when Wren gets there....
Wren coos and flaps her armor and offers to come attend to the wishes of the Mayor.
Wren will strut up to the front like a peacock, her plummage full and chest proud, a dizzying array of colors in what might be a sharp contrast against the usual drab attire of the Ravengro citizenry.
At the podium, Wren will lay Plume upon it as if the bird would lend weight to what she says.
"Flock, hear me! There is little to fear from the Harrowstone! Just because we have been recently attacked by all manners of undead and related hauntry, I can assure you that we possess the means to deal with them. Let me go into detail on what we have faced and how to deal with them..." Wren will look at her audience, truly oblivious to whatever they may be thinking before continuing.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 Know (religion)
"Firstly, zombies! This undead looks like..." Wren will rattle off what she knows of zombies in detail including what zombies eat (people) and what they are created from (people) before moving onto the next subject...
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 Know (religion)
Wren pauses for a moment before moving to the next horror, "Ah yes, skeletons! Skeletons are what you become when your flesh has been removed from your body..." Wren will detail more about skeletons and how hard they are to kill and the pain they can cause as well as the ease by which they can be created.
Continuing on (if allowed)....
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Know (religion) on Ghosts
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Know (religion) on various haunts
When that is done, she will switch gears going now to the sordid history of Harrowstone, piecing together what they have encountered so far along with knowledge of the Whispering Way, the 5 Prisoners, the fire damage and all that...
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 Know (History)
"....and so the 5 Prisoners, now 4 because we have slain one (at least temporarily until it comes back looking for revenge against all Ravengro), remain an angry and potential lethal force barely contained at Harrowstone." Wren looks around at the crowd.
"I'm happy to answer any questions you may have..."
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Diplomacy
