Gemheart attacks W1 again.

Gemheart pounds on the nearest wolf, causing it to let forth a howl of pain. It's still alive, but not by much...

The second wolf bites again at Mundarion:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
natural 1 reroll: 1d20 - 13 ⇒ (8) - 13 = -5
but misses wildly, gnawing furiously at the air.

Yessai's turn again.

Mundarion activates his arcane strike ability and again swings at the creature in front of him.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

18 rounds left on shield spell.

Mundarion misses.

Hozela turns around and releases a barrage of force missiles at the first wolf:
magic missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4, 4) + 3 = 15

The creature lets forth a final howl, which increases in pitch. The energy surrounding the wolf floats into the air, and the eater of knowledge twists in pain. Finally all its alterations are gone, and an ordinary wolf remains, which promptly dissolves into dust.

W1 is down...

The humanoid, whatever it is, holds out its clawed, gnarly hands. With a crackle, its claws detach themselves from its hands and shoot out towards De'arv'ki!
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
2d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5

The map has been updated.

You had said you were attacking W2 previously, so that is what I assumed. Huh, somehow I forgot to count your hit from last round...

Yessai strikes the second wolf, which howls in pain, and pants from exhaustion.

De'arv'ki drops down, and Gemheart runs forwards.

The remaining wolf makes a desperate final gnash at Yessai:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
but to no effect.

Yessai slashes it again, causing the second wolf to collapse, twist, and dissolve the same as the first.

Both wolves are now out of the fight.

Hozela fires at the humanoid with another round of magic missiles at the humanoid
3d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3, 1) + 4 = 11

It is still standing, though heavily wounded.
"No, I cannot end this way!"
It hisses, while its claws spontaneously regrow, then detach themselves and fire again, this time at Gemheart:
ranged claws: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

But to no effect.

Yessai:
It has instantaneous duration. There is no ongoing magical effect keeping you fatigued, you are just fatigued until it is ended via normal fatigue rules. By default, fatigue goes away with eight hours of rest. You'd need magic to get rid of fatigue in less than eight hours.

The map has been updated. It is back to De'arv'ki's turn.

As Gemheart stabs the creature, it cries out in pain
"My end...all my knowledge is lost to you!" Much like the wolves, an aura of dark energy pulls itself up from the humanoid, causing him to contort in pain. Finally it evaporates completely, leaving behind the corpse of an ordinary catfolk, which subsequently disintegrates into dust.

The combat is over.

When the dust settles, Vyrellis speaks up.
"Strange, I hast thought to find the next piece of mine life energy in yon statue, but it is not hither. Someone else must hath taken it from its place in my statue. I would to know who, and whence it was brought, but methinks that mayest need to wait."

but most consist entirely of blank pages! The Eaters of Knowledge have devoured the books' contents.
By searching hard enough, though, you can find several books which are mostly intact, including:

A book written in Elven:

Spoiler:
The Shorishavica, which appears to be an old epic poem about a grey elf.

The group has little difficulty getting up the ladders, which are strong enough to hold Gemheart. At the northern wall on top of the bookshelves, the small passageway leads to a chamber with a granite tiled floor.

An L-shaped table and a heavy cabinet stand against the opposite wall, with a closed door between them and another door stands to the left.

More shelves of books line these walls, although they are not as high or numerous as the lower room.

Yessai hustles around the panther, leaving herself exposed to an attack of opportunity...
but the creature is momentarily disoriented from its teleportation and so makes no attack.

Yessai strikes the creature directly in a joint, mortally wounding it! The panther contorts itself in pain, and coughs up black and red mist. It is enveloped in red fog for a few moments before the fog dissipates, leaving behind the corpse of an ordinary panther, which subsequently turns to dust.

But Yessai is still dazed, so she cannot move or attack.
Yessai can try to shake off the daze effect again DC 15 will save, but even then she won't be able to act until next round.

Next is Mundarion, who is also dazed. What happens after that depends on who is still dazed, so I'll wait until both Yessai and Mundarion roll their saves.
