What does it mean, when archetype feats additionally have the Skill trait (i.e. Expert disassembly of the Scrounger archetype)?
Are they both, archetype feats and skill feats? Or must I take them as skill feats? But how does it then relate to the rule of Free Archetype?
So for the Scrounger archetype, can I choose the archetype feat Expert disassembly as archetype feat? (I'm asking because Foundry does not allow that)

"Some archetype feats in other books have the skill trait, allowing you to take them in place of a skill feat rather than a class feat. A skill feat still counts to satisfy the requirement of the dedication."
But then I can't take this feats as archetype feat with the free archetype rule every even level. Instead I need to take them when I get an additional skill feat and this sets the free archetype rule ad-absurdum.

Allow != Must
You can take them as a Free Archetype feat or as a Class feat or as a skill feat. You are free to choose whatever you prefer each time.
I'm pretty sure this is incorrect RAW. Where does it say that? Nothing in the archetype rules says that you can use a class feat to take a skill feat.
Allowing you to do it means that you're allowed to use a skill feat in this case. It doesn't mean you're allowed to use a class or archetype feat on something that isn't a valid pick for those feats.

The game's core rules are not designed for variant rules. Free archetype is a variant rule. People need to understand this. If you're going to use a variant rule, your GM needs to be prepared to make rulings when the variant causes issues.
This is one of the more common cases. There are two standard ways to deal with it:
1. The player takes the skill feat when the opportunity arises. If they don't, that's on them.
2. The GM house rules it so they can use an archetype class feat for archetype skill feats.

Yeah, and both can be considered technically RAW for Free Archetype slots (though you couldn't put an Archetype Skill feat in a regular Class Feat slot).
I'm pretty sure that Pathbuilder follows option #1. Not that this proves anything.
And for the most part, people hold Skill Feats in such low regard that I don't often hear people complaining about having to use their Skill Feat slots for Archetype Skill Feats.

I have met one GM that forbid putting Archetype Skill feats into a class's General Skill feat slots. The reasoning being that the Archetype trait is not the General trait, so the feat doesn't qualify.
But I think that is a rather rare ruling.
And I'm not sure where the GM expected to put those feats if we weren't playing in a Free Archetype build rules game.

Archetype feats "slots" are Class feats.
....the character receives an extra class feat at 2nd level and every even level thereafter that they can use only for archetype feats.
A feat with this trait can be selected when a class grants a skill feat or general feat
So RAW you need to use your regular Skill feat or General feats for the Archetype feats with the skill trait.

With how few good Skill feats there is most of the time its a good things when Archetype's give you the options for skill feats, and it lets you exit them quicker.
rarely do i see someone wanting to waste a Free archetype slot for skill feats.
Personally i don’t think they should be able to and i would inform them that there is a better way.
but i have see GM's allow skill feats be placed in class feat slots.
