Viper Vine request for errata

Like others I've found Viper Vine, as written to be overpowering.

As per the poster in the other thread, I read the "captivated" part of captivating pollen as a separate condition, which has no removal criteria.

The response in that thread is backed up by reading the 1e version, it seems that parts of the ability text regarding "captivated" are copied from 1e, but looks like the intention was to use "fascinated" in 2e, but the ability text was only partly updated, leaving trailing references to "captivated".

If the intent is that the target is only penalised while the "fascinated" effect is active, can I request that references to "Captivated" be removed, or some text like "while a creature is fascinated" be added.

Yeah, I think 'captivated' could be read as 'effects of failed save'. And it should end at the very least when an affected PC takes damage. Normal end condition of fascinated "hostile actions against ... any of your allies" should still be ignored I think.

This is regarding the Failure condition of Captivating Pollen, yes?

I read 'a captivated creature' as referring to a creature that has been fascinated specifically by Captivating Pollen (not by other potential sources of the Fascinated condition).

It isn't creating a new and undefined condition.

Yes, but it does not say when the creature is no longer captivated. And a captivated creature adjacent to the Viper Vine stays still and doesn't act.

If 'captivated' simply means being Fascinated as a result of Captivating Pollen, then when the Fascinated condition ends, the creature is no longer captivated.

True but it is not written anywhere.

I think the easiest way would be to replace captivated with fascinated in the sentence I mentioned above. So that it reads as "A fascinated creature adjacent to the Viper Vine stays still and doesn't act."
