If the only unarmed attack the daredevil character has is a Fist, then the attack will be nonlethal. However, the Nonlethal trait says, "You can use a nonlethal weapon to make a lethal attack with a –2 circumstance penalty." The Fist Strike can be described as a kick, elbow jab, headbutt, etc., but it still uses the traits of the Fist.
However, some ancestries give other unarmed attacks. The Razortooth Goblin heritage gives a jaws attack that deals 1d6 piercing damage and has the finesse and unarmed traits. It is lethal. The Cactus Leshy heritage gives a spine attack that deals 1d6 piercing damage and has the finesse and unarmed traits. It is also lethal. Clawed Catfolk heritage gives a claw attack that deals 1d6 slashing damage and has the agile, finesse, and unarmed traits, and catfolk's Saber Teeth feat grants a jaws attack that deals 1d6 piercing damage and has the unarmed trait. Ironhoof Centaur heritage gives a hoof attack that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage and has the finesse and unarmed traits. The Steelhoof feat increases the damage to 1d8. Etc.

I would honestly like to see more unarmed support on the class personally. It already feels like a class that wants a free hand so you can do lots of maneuvers and having access to some basic stronger unarmed strikes would emphasize a bit of that brawler vibe which would help to push it to be more distinct from Swash which lacks the same kind of innate unarmed support

I'm honestly surprised by the lack of unarmed support in the daredevil (either innately or through feats), since it clearly borrows from the 1e brawler in some aspects and there's clear inspiration from action heroes like Van Damme or Jackie Chan as well.
I think the class should have the monk's Powerful Fist ability and few unique stances as well.

hmmm...how about an ability instead that takes all those crappy d4 brawling weapons (yup, just checked, ther is not a single brawling weapon in the AoN that has more then d4) and gives them an extra die size (and maybe a little something on top like the grapple trait if they are simple)

I'd rather see innate support for improvised weapons (which I feel are very on-theme for the daredevil, and Breakaway Attack in a way feels like a tax) and have feats to improve brawling weapons down the line personally.
