Accursed Critical + Magic Item

Rules Questions

If I made a magic item that can cast Bestow Curse 5 times a day, could I expend charges for Accursed Critical instead of spending spell slots? Accursed Critical says I must have it prepared or otherwise available to cast. Would this theoretical magic item count as "being available to cast?"

Liberty's Edge

Casting a spell is generally different from activating a magic item. Probably it will work with a spell storing item or something similar, but I doubt it will work with an item that requires a command word.

"otherwise available to cast" probably refers to Spell Like Abilities and spontaneous spells, as neither are prepared.

All in all it is best to consult your GM about how to do it as you are in custom Home Game territory.

Accursed Critical feat req Critical Focus. Basically when you cast/SLA a spell/efct with an attack roll(d20) and roll AND confirm a critical you get to cast Bestow Curse as an immediate on the target.

Usually feats are about +$10k and two are needed. There can be a 1.5* modifier for additional properties.
A conservative pricing would be 2^2 *$10k *1.5 or +$60,000. 2 custom ioun stones might be the way to go.
AFAIK magic items don't use charges to empower feat usage.
Activating a magic item is usually a standard action and isn't "casting" as there are trigger methods. Accursed Feat wants you to expend a spell slot with your DC.

consult Magic Item Creation at d20PFSRD and Table: Estimating Magic Item Gold Piece Values.

Personally Bestow Curse in a magic item is not a good idea due to low DCs. A Staff might be the way to go.
