Hi, I'm playing an Exemplar and my DM and I have conflicting interpretations of how to calculate damage for the Fracture Mountain ability of the Titan's Breaker ikon.
My interpretation is that when using the ability the per die damage increases, and you add extra dice of damage. His interpretation is that the per die damage is replaced with a flat modifier, and you receive the extra dice.
For instance:
Scenario 1: My base weapon (I have a Striking rune) goes from 2d8+4+Str to 3d8+12+Str
This is what I believe is correct.
Scenario 2: My weapon goes from 2d8+4+Str to 3d8+4+Str
I would appreciate if someone could either ask this to be flagged for FAQ or if I could get an answer from an official source. There's way too much arguing about this online to find a coherent and decisive answer.

I think you are both wrong, depending on what level your character is.
You are correct that you start out at 2d8+4 (weapon damage)+4 Spirit damage from the Immanence, as you have two weapon dice.
When you Transcend, the base damage gains a die and goes to 3d8+4 (weapon damage type). The +2 from the transcence goes to a +4, and this would stay per weapon die, making it a +8.
If you were at least level 10, which you did not tell us, then you would be correct, as the bonus damage would go to +6 per die, for a total of +12.
I think this ability is written quite clearly and is simple to understand. It's written the same way as, for example, Vicious Swing. It's the normal language for "This ability gets stronger as you level."

From my experience and reading of similar rulings, Scenario 1 is correct; Fracture Mountain increases both the number of dice and the per-die damage, not just the dice count.

My reading is that the Transedance effect says nothing about "per die".
The "2 per die" is increased to "+1die +4"
But you are correct that this question has been posted since the ability was first revealed, and so far there has been 0 official answers of what is the correct way to calculate the damage.

This. Transcendence effect completely overwrites base Immanence effect.
____Also, "an extra die of weapon damage" is not "an extra weapon damage die". Though it doesn't matter for the case.

I appreciate people disagree about this, which is why I say what we really need is an official answer. For example, I disagree that the Transcendence ability fully overwrites the Immanence effect because the way it's phrased says it's increasing the bonus, not replacing it.
Regardless, thanks for the interest in the topic.

Yeah, it's "increase to" not "increased by".
Plus, at all levels it is an increase:
At lvl 1 1die+4>2
At lvl 4 when you get striking, 1die+4>4
At lvl 10 2dices+6>4
At lvl 12 when you get great striking, 2die+6>6
At lvl 18 3dices+8>6
At lvl 19 3dices+8>8
You would have to seriously break the economy (runes 2-3 lvls earlier) for the "per die" bonus to outscale the static.

Agree with this, it say "increase to" so it clearly a replace.

Titan Breaker Immanence - +2 damager per weapon damage die
Transcendence - 4 + extra weapon damage die
Transcendence @level 10 - 6 + two damage die
Transcendence @18 - 8 + 3 damage die.
The transcendence effect (Fracture Mountains) completely replaces the base immanence effect.
And the points at which you get additional damage dice are timed to coincide with when you should expect to be getting striking rune upgrades.
