We now have the player's guide for the first season on Starfinder Society 2.0! What we're you expecting, and what surprised you? Discuss it here.

For me, I'm surprised that we apparently won't get Starfinder Lore by default, given how many new backgrounds will give it to you instead.

The playtest backgrounds seem neat, if not anything exciting.

The new ancestries are interesting. Small climbing lizardfolk with a survivalist bend and LARGE four-armed tusk-people can lead to some interesting playstyles. I have my eye on a crafting-happy urban shobhad and cyberpunk-esque experimental ikeshti.

THINGS I WAS HOPING TO SEE
I also wanted to see Starfinder Society Lore a default bonus skill. I was also kind of hoping for an Izalguun ancestry in honor of First Seeker Sarmak.

THINGS I WAS DELIGHTED TO SEE
The inclusion Ikeshti and Shobhad ancestry entries were a lovely surprise.

I also loved the Playtest Backgrounds. My -2701, Mimi Masher, is based on the playtest character who played Wheel of Monsters so I picked the Wheel of Monsters background for her. It felt perfect, honestly.

I hope Lorepsire will be updated to match this guide becasue on Lorespire only talked about be able to create a 1st, 3rd, and 5th level. This guide says 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th levels. It is confusing.

I don't think there are any adventures for that level yet, so there's no real difference.
