Dominated Question -- Spoilers for Book 6 of Mummy's Mask!

Rules Questions

Hello all. I'm posting this here because it's more of a rules question than an AP question. This does contain spoilers for Book 6 of Mummy's Mask.

Situation and Book 6 Spoiler:
In my game the other night, the Nosferatu, Inhetef, successfully dominated the Barbarian. After an intense fight, the party beat down Inhetef, but he turned into bats and fled to his sarcophagus. What happens to the domination on the Barbarian?

The way I see it, Inhetef was *not* killed yet, and thus the dominate person remains in effect. His last orders to the Barbarian was "Come and stand by my side." He does not know where Inhetef is. So my assumption is that he "acts normally" until they find him again.

Is this an accurate understanding of the situation?

Thank you in advance!

Doooooominate Person:E5 the caster gets a good bit of information about what the target is experiencing and can telepathically send new commands (unlimited range on the same plane).

Mummy Mask stuff:

basic Nosferatu with template at the end, dominate Will 17.
Inhetef Male nosferatu human inquisitor of Sekhmet 15 has Dominate at Will 21 with duration 15 days. I think that says it all. He hasn't fed in a long time so he might try to get the Barbarian alone where he can drain him, like volunteer to take watch alone or some such ploy.
If Inhetef is not destroyed, he waits in his sarcophagus in
area D5 until he is fully healed, at which point he hunts the
PCs throughout the confines of the Fire Crypt.

===end===

Once you have given a dominated creature a command, it continues to attempt to carry out that command to the exclusion of all other activities except those necessary for day-to-day survival (such as sleeping, eating, and so forth).

The barbarian will attempt to carry on the last order.

At first, trying to follow the guy who dominated him.
Failing that, he will try to tra<k him.
After that fails, he will move in the general direction where he has seen him go and search for him.

He will not "resume his normal life until commanded again". The order doesn't include "live your life".

What will he do:
If the last command was "Come and stand by my side", he will try to do exactly that. He will do nothing than trying to find him, to again stand by his side, except things necessary to survive. He will do so until this task is completed, the duration expires, he recieves another command (which Inhetef can do telepathically without range restriction, as long as they are on the same plane) or the spell is otherwise lifted. In theory he could command the barbarian to act normal and have him as a eyes and ears by concentrating on the spell to get intel about the party and order him to maybe sabotage the party in a way

Great! Thank you, everyone!

P.S.: Probably the Barbarian will ask their characters to use their skills and spells to find the one dominating him.
His behavior could be mistaken as that of someone eager to find the "enemy", but his condition could still be noticed with a Sense Motive check, as for the spell.
