Hey all, this is my first time posting here, but I wanted to ask your opinion of an idea I've had with some friends.
We love playing P2e, but scheduling can be a nightmare. There are 4 of us in total who are regularly available most nights of the week and I had the idea of prepping some one-hour one-shots so that we could take advantage of not having to plan. The thought is something to the effect of:
Person1: "Hey you all want to play P2e tonight?"
PersonsXYZ: "Sure!"
I've been thinking about setting up these one-hour one-shots to be sequential based on level. The over-arching game will be organized into islands with four one-shots on an island and the island difficulty will be tied to a level. So island 1 is level 1 for PCs and has 4 one-hour one-shots in it to complete.
I'm planning on following some kind of formula but what I've got right now as far as building blocks for the one-shots are:
1. Mystery adventure
2. Dungeon crawl
3. Horror adventure
4. Boss battle
Players will do all the leveling up, purchasing items, crafting, etc. off screen between sessions. They could even completely swap out their characters between islands (like level 1 they try one class, level 2 they choose to come in as a new class also at level 2).
One hour is not a lot of time and I'm curious if anyone else has done one-hour one-shots and has any advice. Thanks in advance!
