Is it just me not being able to find any info, or did Paizo never give Nocticula any unique thematic summons and/or spells in 1e? With her being one of the Demon Lords with the most spotlight shed on (which continued in 2e with her ascension as well) I'm surprised she never got any.
I mean, I guess you can easily homebrew if you know her stuff. Just curious though.

Nocticula on PathfinderWiki
scroll down to the bottom of the page. You can see most of the published material cited is 2009-2023. They're updating as PF2 has picked her up as a poster child. New stories, new deities.

Well - The past is the past. It's done and gone and no more.
You're also wondering about development of a character's background story in a creative endeavor over years through approved projects and various writers with different styles and concerns. There isn't a long term managed roadmap... lol... So Paizo as a company never devoted cash for development to the character in a major way following yearly developer meetings. That simple.
Remember that product sales is what drives companies and they try to meet that goal.
It is mainly about writing adventures and stories(dramas) that Paizo thinks will be popular. Some side development goes with that.
I don't recall Nocticula ever being a popular topic among PF1 active gamers (like 2-3 times in 10 years). Aroden, Lisalla, Ragathiel, etc were more popular. New deities were tried out in products but they never gained popularity. One was presented in a scenario and kinda offensive to me personally as it was a ham-handed attempt at zen buddhism.
I make that distinction as there are a number of posters that don't actually participate in table top games, they just chat(ted) frequently.
Thematically it was a logical choice with PF2. Characters have to develop and deities need to cover various jungian archetypes and themes. The topic of redemption is usually handled in a rather martial way as that reflects the play styles in PF1. Deskari got killed/replaced in Scenario play. Some other demon lord plans got frustrated or destroyed via scenario play. Nocticula had a complex background and could move from CE toward NN (CN to 'thematic non-copyrighted alignment' in the end) and add redemption of a violent/tragic sort. I don't know that anyone really cared that Gorum got knocked out of the club as he represented what PF2 was trying to leave behind (we are talking about creative writers and artistically where they want to go).

James Jacobs did the write up in AP#144 Midwives to Death pg 78-79, 2019. Sacred Colors: blue, white. The art has 9 pointed crown. The details change showing it is not monolithic or well defined. This drama was the closing of PF1.
Nocticula in PF1: Not popular, very late development (at the close, so no surprise there's not much). Represents artistic and murderous outcasts. Yeah - lol - Imagine a table with a Nocticula, Zon-Kuthon, Norgorber, and one Shelyn worshiper at a table *facepalm*...
