So what is the point of having two different Weapon Groups for Firearms/Guns/Projectile Weaponry as such I mentioned. Do from what I see if you crossed with both a Operative & a Gunslinger in the same party they be unable to be compatible because they both use entirely different Weapon Groups. Am I reading this right or have I missed a line that says Guns and Firearms are to be treated as the same weapon group? Did anyone else notice this or was it just me?

As I understand it, the idea is to treat guns as their own separate weapon subset from Pathfinder firearms, as guns and firearms are balanced differently: specifically, guns are balanced to be on par with other weapons (in theory, at least), whereas firearms are made intentionally underpowered in Pathfinder so that they're less likely to be used by everyone, with Gunslingers receiving extra features to bring them back up. Thus, I'd say that in this case the incompatibility may be intended.

I do hope they gave the definition of a gun a second pass, perhaps as a trait, like how monk weapons have the monk trait. I frankly find it silly that a Pathfinder firearm is not considered a gun, and am still waiting to see whether a bow in Starfinder would be considered a gun. Bows had the analog trait in Starfinder 1E, and if it keeps that trait going into 2E, a bow would be a gun.
Though on the other hand, would have loved to see Operative just get its proficiencies with ranged weapons, would have made for a good non-tracking legolas build.
