Clarity and Contradictions

Runesmith Class Discussion

I'm not sure if I'm being obtuse or the Runesmith's rules are a bit hard to grasp when it comes to the details. I've written up an example below. Have you also encountered issues where wordings or rules seem a bit unclear or convoluted?

Reading Sun-, I was quite confused as to why one would use this rune instead of applying two copies of the same specific rune to one creature/item. It took me a while to realize that that's not an option due to the general rule for Duplicate Effects. The playtest only explicitly mentions this rule in regards to invoking runes, Sun-'s existence implies the rule's application to etching/tracing runes. This makes sense since the runes' passive effects are, of course, an effect; still, I found the mix between implicit and explicit use of this rule a bit confusing.

Sun- helps if you apply in melee in round 1, but expect to be at range in round 2. You spend two trace actions for two invocations - otherwise you’d spend three one melee and two ranged.
