With PF2e getting mythic characters soon, got me thinking that for Starfinder it wold be nice to have something like that, but for Starfinder it could add new extreme playable species and tech. Also a good place to bring back some old playable species that didn't balance well with PF2e.

I certainly would love some scifi themed mythic destinies.

With my current impression of the system, I don't think Paizo would specifically add mythic ancestries, though I think the idea is interesting on both the Pathfinder and Starfinder side, so I certainly would not mind seeing it. I'd also need more information on what mythic exclusive items would look like before I can make an opinion on that.

Either way, scifi mythic callings and destinies would be an easy addition.

(As a side half-joke, it would be hilarious to have Memelord as a mythic destiny, especially now that there is a god of memes).

That's a great thought, what does a mythic destiny mean in a world with social media? I have an evolutionist character whose life goal is to evolve to someday outdo Zo! as the top media star. Becoming a Memelord would certainly help him on that path.

I'm waiting for the PDF to be released to see what the mythic destinies are like, I'm really curious to see how they affect lower-level play, but meanwhile, I'm letting my imagination run wild.

A mythic destiny for a shirren or other insectoid species would be to metamorphose into a queen of their species. Or for a multi-armed species a mythic destiny that lets them use all their arms effectively.

Contemplatives that gain mythic brain power over time. Androids with higher levels of AI intelligence. SROs with full robotic immunities.

Mythic heritages for characters that are from high gravity planets that are extra strong because if it.

A Starfinder mythic book would be a great place to bring back the evolutionist class that could evolve to mythic levels.

In Starfineder even just having access to higher-level equipment ahead of your level could feel mythic, or access to hight capacity magazines.

Just so many possibilities for mythic Starfinder...

Something about the idea of mythic ancestries makes me feel squicky. It seems... I dunno... bio-essentialist? Eugenicsy? It just... flattens all these diverse cultures down and makes some of them inherently better than others in an even more exaggerated way than is expected for an RPG with mechanically differentiated species options.

.

Raxilite +2 Dex, +2 Int, +2 Cha, -4 Str
Stellifera +2 Wis, +2 Cha, -2 Con, -4 Str
Shobhad +4 Str, -2 Int
Aasimar +2 Cha

In Starfinder 1e
A Raxilite, a Stellifera, a Shobhad, and an Aasimar,
walk into "The Cantina."
The band keeps playing.

In Pathfinder 2e
Starfinder 1e stat blocks walk into a tavern.
The bard stops singing and drops their lute on the ground.
Everyone runs for the door.

Don't get me wrong I think the developers are doing a great job on SF2e, but if PF2e can get a book that goes to 11, I hope that someday SF2e can also get a book that goes to 11 For Starfinder I like my species turned up as loud as possible. I'm happy to play at 10 most of the time, but if there is a chance to go to 11 with species I'll take it.

So looking at the What is Mythic? blog post, it looks like mythic powers are divided up in to, Mythic Points, mythic proficiency, Callings, mythic feats, and mythic destinies. If these are not class-specific, and from the few examples we have they don't look to be, then they should work fine in SF2e as an option. If so then there is no reason to do the exact same thing if years from now Starfinder gets book that goes to 11 Then Starfinder could take mythic-level options in a different such as species enhancment. I think the best way to do that would be with versatile heritages. for example.

A born in high gravity versatile heritages would give any species +2 strength and has their max strength modifier by level increased by 2

A queen of the hive versatile heritages could be used by any insectoid species and make your character large, and maybe give you long-range telepathy to communicate with other members of your spaces.

An enhanced memory circuit versatile heritages could turn any species with the tech or constructed trait into a C-3PO like character speaking 6 million languages. And yes 6 million languages is perfectly balanced because every first-contact adventure assumes you don't know the language. Also, 6 million languages is a very tiny number for a galaxy. Maybe for game balance limit it to half a million languages per level to show progress in learning new languages.

A multi-armed versatile heritage could give any species with multiple arms a pool of points that could be spent to get an extra action to use on one of its limbs.

A born on an extreme planet versatile heritage could give any biological species enhanced resistance to some environmental effect.

A design for extreme environments versatile heritage could give any species with the tech or constructed enhanced resistance and or immunities to some environmental effect.

An accelerated evolution versatile heritage would be a bit like an evolutionist archetype for other classes or would cause an evolutionist to evolve even more.

An affected by the Drift versatile heritage could give any species strange abilities related to the Drift.

Many of these ideas could have a version balanced for non-mythic level play as well, I think some of them already do in SF1e as archetypes.

Also for a Starfinder goes to 11 type book have the ancestry paragon a free option anyone can take.

If you want to get really wild a playable space whale species that can Drift jump on its own would be cool. I wonder what an adventure written for space whales would be like.
