Is there any RAW support for this anywhere? I find nothing.
The Reload rules and Reload trait both use first person language. "Switching your grip to free a hand and then to place your hands in the grip necessary to wield the weapon are both included in the actions you spend to reload a weapon."
Other than that, I'm not seeing much either. I don't see anything about requiring that you are holding or wielding a weapon in order to reload it. Though I believe holding the weapon is RAI required.

Thanks, I'll believe it's an old one. I'm just trying to sort out familiar issues in the remaster and was hoping maybe there was something I missed.
If anything, Remaster made familiars worse and more confusing. The rules are now split with the basic stats and abilities under the Pet general feat. And can't forget about losing the ability to use trained-only actions of skills regardless of having the Skilled ability.

Yeah, that was the link in the OP where I said that it was definitively RAI because of that video, but he never cited any actual rules in the video because they apparently don't exist.
